Tire and rubber cleaner for removing wax

Detailing a VW Tiguan that has a good bit of wax/polish residue on the plastic trim. APC didn't work in the past, but I just received the new Tire and Rubber Cleaner and was hoping that would have helped but didn't really do much.

 

Maybe I need to let it soak more and apply a few times?

 

Any other ideas or thoughts on removing the wax from the trim?

It's always worked great for me. Are you sure it's wax?

Worked great for me.  I grabbed it instead of rinse less by mistake once and wax was gone.

almost certain it is wax, i will try and soak it a bit longer before scrubbing and may try a different brush.

The Tire and Rubber Cleaner also worked well for me regarding wax.  I didn't need to let it soak for more than the time it took me to get a brush to agitate.

I've had good results with a big pink eraser.

I always use APC and a tooth brush.......let it soak awhile then scrub.

The toothbrush or similar is needed to get the residue out of the textured plastic. Scrubbing with a towel does not get into the recesses. I recommend taping off the paint so you don't scratch the paint with whatever brush you are using.

Pink eraser for the win! Kept one in my trunk for these circumstances in high school.
