Those lights are great!  Amazon carries Astro Pneumatic lights which are similar, but are 1/2 the price - https://www.amazon.com/Astro-Pneumatic-Tool-200SL-Rechargeable/dp/B01CHP78TG/ref=sr_1_2?s=hardware&srs=2582526011&ie=UTF8&qid=1524684490&sr=1-2 .  Not sure how they compare though, but the reviews are positive.

Thanks for that. I’ll have to compare them. The scangrips I know have different output settings and all. It’s worth looking at and they look very similar.

And it's time for some more photos...

We had the chance to do a ceramic coating on a Dodge Charger Hellcat.  The car was new with only 1250 miles on it when it came to us.  The owner had a matte vinyl wrap done on the hood and rear spoiler.  When it came in, they looked kind of inconsistent in appearance, but the depth and evenness came to life with the coatings.  This vehicle has four layers of ceramic applied, wheel coating to the wheels and calipers and trim coating.  The finishing touch was a coating on the windshield for lasting protection.

Love the Gray on that Charger.  I believe it's Battleship Gray?

I think that is the actual color. The paint was kind of boring when we first got it. It looked flat and lacked pop despite being new. Love how it looked after. And it was a nice car to drive back to deliver!

Looks great Shane, and I see Marquis worked his magic inside, too ! :2thumbs:

Thanks!  And he definitely did. Like he always does. The man is incredible at what he does.

Maquis is THE man for interiors, knows his way around a polisher too!

As for the color, it is Destroyer grey, it was released in 2017 and carried into 2018.

We were at it again today.  We knocked out a Subaru Impreza Sport that I forgot to take pics of...and we had this Nissan Frontier come in today.

We attached it with a one step topped with a silica based spray.  Maquis did what he does to the inside...the results speak for themselves...

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry I’ve been on a hiatus from posting lately. We’ve been crazy busy. Between work, training and life...I haven’t had enough time to keep up!

In exciting news, we are authorized Premium Shield PPF installers. Just got back from three days at their facility being trained. Pretty awesome program...and it’s more or less a learners permit for ppf work!

Anyway, today we were back on the grind with a Ford F-350 Platinum. We didn’t know it when it came, but it was ceramic coated with Simoniz from the dealer. So we changed gears from “seal, coat and wax” to coating maintenance. We used a gloss agent that plays well with coatings and then a silica based spray topper. Oh, and Marquis was at it again inside!

Some more work coming up this weekend with an Adam’s Coating tomorrow on an older Ford Mustang.

Enjoy!

We had a client bring in his 16 year old Ford Mustang. It was in need of some serious paint correction and he wanted it protected with a reasonably priced ceramic coating. Adams paint coating fit the bill and we got to work.

I thought I had the before photos with me, but I didn’t pull them off the camera...so oops. But here’s some final shots. This paint was dull and swirled before we went to work on it.

I have to pull the photos of the Volvo S60 we just polished and installed a clear bra on today or tomorrow as well.

Next weekend will be some fun work. We are installing a five year coating on restored 65 & 67 Mustangs along with a custom 52 Ford truck. It’ll be a long weekend, but worth it!

Be ready for a photo bomb here.

We spent the weekend ceramic coating three classics for a long time client of ours in a five year warrantied coating.

I’ll let the results speak for themselves. We’ve been so busy we haven’t been on the forums much!  Sorry!

Looks like you found the ever elusive North American King of Interior Detailing.

Shane, you and Marquise did a stellar job, those cars are everything you said they would be. Nice work.

Thanks Jim. It was a VERY long weekend. We managed to pull it off in about 24 hours of work. We even brought a third in just to help buff off and these didn’t need interior work. The owner made it easier for us by having two lifts. And also pulling the wheels ahead of time.

I will add that I wouldn’t recommend trying to pull off this kind of work in that short of a timeframe without multiple experienced hands on deck. It truly was a brutal process that I don’t know if I’d do again. A car a day would have been more comfortable.

And @Firebuff17 you did spot Marquis!  I have to give him all the credit in the world. Not only is he amazing at what he does, he works his butt off for our clients. There really is nobody better I could have partnered with!  And seeing how people are picking him out makes me happy since he deserves more recognition than I could ever give him and it’s what he deserves...even if he doesn’t believe it himself.  I sent him a screenshot of your post!  So thank you!

OK Shane, so here's a quick question for you.  Do you ever get to drive them other than pulling in and out of the garage ?

All those beautiful rides.......I don't think I could resist the temptation.

Oh, and by the way........Marquis is the man !

@ZMAN024 I’ve driven a few client cars. When I do, I tend to drive them very safely and baby them since they aren’t my cars. Driving client cars makes me nervous more than enjoyable.

Unfortunately I didn’t get to drive these ones. I’d love the red one, but I can’t cut the check big enough to take it home!
