    It was the one where Joe was showing the application of the Ceramic coating and how the UV light works.  I simply miss understood what he was saying and it was after doing the complete car, application and removal how we can go back with the UV light and see if there are any missed spots, not that he applied the coating to the entire car then checked for missed spots before removing it.

    Thanks That is what I thought.  I did go back and look at the video and and I think I was taking it when he said he could coat the entire car and then go back with the UV light to see what he may have missed, not meaning to coat the entire car before removing it, but checking after the coating was removed from each panel.

I currently use Adams Ceramic UV Spray coating on both cars.  While my car spends most of it time covered in the garage, the wife's Equinox sees more use.  She had a slight accident a a month ago and I just got it out of the body shop last week.  I asked about the time before I could doing any thing as far as paint protection and they recommended 30 days.  I may give it 60 to be on the safe side so my question is,  I am thinking of apply the longer lasting full on ceramic coating instead of the spray seeing the car sees the real world more.  I happen to watch a video where Joe Triegiro said that you can apply the UV Ceramic Coating to the entire car  before removing it.  I have always thought that you do only one panel at a time and simply give it about 2 minutes or until it rainbows then remove it or buff it.  Is the spray different then the actual ceramic coating?

Firs I just want to say I am a long time Adam's user.  I remember when his product line was Detail Spray, Swirl & Haze Remover, Buttery Wax Undercarriage Spray and a few different types of Micro Fiber towels.  I also was always a polish and wax type of detailer.  Old school I guess.  Well about a year ago I decide to try the Ceramic Spray coating because I knew I could remove it a lot easier then the full 3-5 year coating.  I will admit I was a little skeptical but went for it any way.  Now this was Adam's first Ceramic Spray coating that came in the kit of Surface Prep, Ceramic Coating and Boost.  It was shortly after that the UV version was released.    Well that application is almost a year old so I decide to strip it off and apply a new coat using the UV spray.  Well I believe they said it was the say as the original except for the UV feature.  If it I may have not done some thing correct the first time because this seem so much better.  

    First off the car spend a lot of time in the garage cover and especially now with COVID it seems to see even more down time.  So the car was clean under the cover, but I decided to clay bar the surface first, then I used the One Step polish and One step pad.  I did about half the car the first day stating with the hood.  Later that night I went out to the garage and noticed the the hood seemed clouded it wiped right off and had the shine that was there earlier.  The next day I went out hoping to finish and apply the ceramic coating, but the hood was all hazed up again.  It still wiped off, but I was concerned if I applied the ceramic would it haze up under the ceramic.  I decided to seek some help on the forum.  I waited a hour to see if I would get any advice, but finally decided to try the standard white polish and white pad.  That did the trick and the hazing issue was gone.  Turns out falcaineer replied and suggested the White pad and polish. 

    So after completing the full polish/paint correct I was ready to start the ceramic coating process.  I wiped the car down completely with the Surface Prep,  Then I started with the hood applying the UV Ceramic Spray Coating half the hood waiting the 1-2 minutes before removing.  Followed this procedure for the entire car.  This was Wednesday so I knew I need to let it cure before adding the boost, so I let actually sit until today tp apply the boost.  I finished it around 11 am today and then backed it out to get a few pictures.  So here is the finished product:  Yes I guess I am a little anal as I also did the door jambs.

That is exactly what I did.  After breakfast I went out and got out the trusty Polish and white foam pad and redid the hood and it corrected the issue even though the other area I had completed did not appear to have any hazing, I redid them with the polish and white pad.  I actually believe it brought out a better shine then the One Step.  Ceramic UV is on and now I will let it cure over night and tomorrow I will apply the boost.

I am in the process of getting the paint ready for a coat of Ceramic Spray coating I applied the original CSC about 6 month ago and wanted to reapply it so I want to remove the old coat.  I used the One Step Polish and the One Step pad on my Swirl Killer.  I have been using Adams products almost from the beginning of his company so this is not a first time use.  Yesterday I spent polishing while I have not completed the entire car yet (will today) I noticed that I am seeing a haze or fog look on the hood.  I have completed the hood, top of front fenders, roof, rear deck and the left rear fender and drivers door.  the hood is the only area that is doing this.  I worked the polish completely and then I switched pads from the One Step to the black and I laid a micro fiber polishing towel on the car and then the Swirl killer with the black pad on the towel and buffed the polish off completely.  I have used the method for years with no trouble.  Again this seems to only be on the hood and I have never had this happen before.  

    Any ideas or do you think when I wipe the car down with the ceramic prep and then apply the UV ceramic coating I will be OK?

    Yes, those steps are good, maybe with the exception of clay/decon. Recoating it can resemble starting over to get the best, longest lasting results.

     

    Post some pics when you're done! And best wishes to your grandson on a speedy recovery, and that you're ok, too.

    I usually keep the car covered even in the garage just as a dust cover actually.  No one around here uses their front doors everyone comes and goes through the garage, so the overhead door goes up around 6 am when I take my dog for his morning walk and stay open until the evening.

    I was going to do the baggy test before I got started, but I did a good clay with my Adams Mitt prior to the last and original ceramic spray, so hopefully with teh little driving and being cover most of the time it will not need it.

    I will post some pictures when done.  As I said I have nothing to do so I plan to take my time.

Ok, I applied the original Ceramic Spray the one in the original kit that was the first one out even before the UV maybe 6 months ago to my 2007 Corvette that spend most of it time in the garages.  Now it does not get washed that much but I do keep it clean with the waterless and the CS3.  Seeing we really have not had many events to go to the car like I said spends a lot of time in the garage.  Now to make matters worst, by 22 year old grand some was over for a birthday celebration and a few days letter he felt bad and tested positive for COVID, so with nothing else to do I thought I would redo the ceramic.

    So my plan is, used my Swirl Killer with the One Step pad and One Step polish and do a complete polish as I understand this will remove the older coating.  Then I will follow that up with the Surface prep and then the Ceramic UV Spray.  Then 24 hours later apply the Ceramic Boost.  Can I cover the car between the coating and boost phases and also does this seem like the correct steps to get a good fresh coat of the ceramic on the car?

Has anyone done a test to compare the application and durability of the two products, and isn't Graphene a totally different product the ceramic as it is not truly a ceramic.  I am asking because I did see a video done by large automotive detailing  company in the Chicago are where they took a hood and sectioned it off into four sections applying four different paint protection products.  Two of which were paint sealants, one was Adams Ceramic Spray and the fourth a Graphene spray product ( not Adams).  It was a very close final results between the Adams and the Graphene spray, but the Adams showed the best overall performance after everything done to the products to see there durability.  

    Also I see that Graphene is list on the site as ceramic, but is it not a totally new paint protection/coating

I coated both my seldom driven 2007 Corvette and the much used wife's 2018 Equinox.  I noted a stain on the hood today and it seems it is etched in to the coating.  I want to strip the coating off and start from a freshly prepared paint surface.  The coating has been on about 3-4 month and I have taken care of it whit the ceramic products for washing and the in between quick waterless washes.  

    So what do I need to do?

  11. So I purchased the original Ceramic spray then no more the a month after I purchased it the UV spray was introduced now this.  How can we keep up. I hate to throw stuff away, but I really can only have so mush room for the ceramic product.  I mean I purchased the original ceramic spray coat along with the Boost and the Waterless and the wash and coat.  Then I bought the UV also the CS3 which I have a few bottles plus a gallon refill.  Is this new product that much better then the products I have?  what are the benefits of this over the two coatings I have?  Do I do away with what I have and switch.  After all these products are supposed to last longer then normal wax.

Quick question.  On the video of the use of theCS3 Adam says to use a waterless wash towel, but in the video I see him also using the gray microfiber towel also.  So is it important as to what type of towel to use with it.  I find that sometimes it will streak and I have to go back and buff it more with a plush microfiber towel.  I never apply it on a hot surface and always out of the sun in the garage.  Iget this on both cars which are dark colors.  Both cars have been ceramic coated with the spray.

I have a real problem.  Both cars car cleaned and detailed and in the garage.  Corvette is covered and battery tender connected.  My wife caught me outside detailing our stainless steel grill, but I finished it.  I have to try and find a way to do the pool pump and pool filler tomorrow without her catching me.

    Any suggestions?

    I was finally able to do a direct comparison between CWW vs CS3 on my hood and I would have to say CS3 is slightly more slick when using and the paint did feel slightly more slick after drying.  We got some rain and they both bead and sheet water about the same.  Hope this helps, I honestly do not think you would go wrong with either one. 

    I have the CS3 which I just received but I have not used it yet.  I think a benefit is it does not streak (at least advertised as such) while I have had the CWW streak and had to really work to get it smoothed out.  The boost is also known to streak.

    Glad to hear that I am not the only one with the streaking with the boost.  So you are using the CS3 like the boost, on top of the actual ceramic spray coating, correct.  I watch the video and Adam almost made it sound like it was a semi ceramic coating.  It also looks like it can be used as a waterless wash.  I am correct on this?

I cleared the streaking issue earlier today.  I just used the Ceramic waterless wash and a double soft towel.  Car was clean has not been ot of the garage since I applied the ceramic coating and then the boost.  Use my compressor to blow off any loose dust and then did the hood.  I am glad that cleared it up be cause I am heading to a car show first thing in the morning.

So I have the UV Ceramic Spray Coating ( which from what I have been told it is the same as the normal ceramic spray) on both cars and if I have an issue with say a section I can remove the coating by simply buffing the area.  If I have to do this, would I use the One Step polish and the One Step pad, or would I need the correction polish and orange pad or would the finishing polish and white pad do the job.  Also should I use the prep first.

Thanks to all the replies.  As for temp., no it was in the low 80's here in Florida.  I did it in the garage not in the sun and the surface was cool.  I did use two single soft towels one to spread it and one to buff.  The only thing I did not do is to dilute it.   I am going to wash the wife's Equinox after breakfast with the Wash and Coat and see how that does.  This will be the first wash since applying the ceramic a few weeks ago.  I have use the Waterless Ceramic washup to now.  I will then pull the Corvette out and see if the streaking is gone.

    That is how I did it on the original application today.  I tried to spray a little on the bad streak when discovered it this afternoon and it actually spread the streaks more.
