  1. That is going to be very nice!

One suggestion.  If you are going to install siding on the left wall, then I would enclose both ends with a large garage door on the front.  This would not cost too much more because you would then not have to install lap siding on the dividing wall.  The dividing wall is likely needed for supporting the roof, but you could just use OSB sheathing on it without the lap siding.

My theory is that your DI filters are leaking resin material, and when the resin gets into the pressure washer pump, it is ruining the pump seals.  The ground up resin would also have the same color as rust, which is what you may be seeing.

I have had my low-flow electric pressure washer running nothing but DI water for 5 years, with no problems and no rust.

A gas pressure washer does need more water than could come through the DI filters, so it may have damaged the screen or mesh that keeps the resin in place.

Test this theory by running water through the filters and into a bucket with just a short hose (no pressure washer), and at maximum flow, then check to see if there is resin in the bucket.

The apc i was referring to was Optimum Power Clean, diluted at 3:1 or even 5:1. Very widely used product that is super safe for clear coat.(just didn't want to talk about other companies products on here). But my main plan was to use a rinseless wash and my pump sprayer does have a foaming tip. My thing is that i will be bringing all of this with me to the pay n spray like i usually do during the winter. At home i use my pressure washer and foam cannon. Just wanted to see what anyone else uses that breaks up or softens any debris on the vehicle from driving.

That product is still an all purpose cleaner.  At full-strength it is a degreaser, and when diluted it is still a cleaner.  While it may be safe for use on a clear coat, it will still reduce the lifespan of any type of protection on the paint, even a coating.  Any product that is not pH-neutral will have this affect on protection.

You are better off using the shampoo-rinseless mixture to soften winter crud on the car before pre-rinsing.

  5. Try cleaning the foam cannon. Get a small pail and put about a half gallon of warm water in it and add a cup of vinegar. Take the head off the foam cannon, remove the pick-up tube, and put the head in the pail upside down to soak overnight. The next day, pour the vinegar-water solution into the foam cannon bottle, put the pick-up tube back on the foam cannon head, and run that mixture through it, spraying it out into the street. Don't spray the vinegar water on your car.

  6. I would not use APC in your pre-rinse solution, as any harsh cleaner will likely shorten the lifespan of the coating (or any other form of protection).

My pre-rinse solution is shampoo and Rinseless Wash.  I used a Foam Cannon for this solution, with 2oz shampoo and 4oz Rinseless Wash.  For use in a sprayer, mix to the same dilution as the instructions indicate for rinseless washing, and add the shampoo to give the solution some more hang time on the paint.  You may want to switch to a foaming sprayer, as the foam gives it more hang time, and the longer the pre-rinse solution is on the paint, the more effective it will be.

In this write-up, I did a rinse before the pre-soak, but you can do your regular soak then pre-rinse.

  7. Thursday night, did a Ceramic Waterless Wash on the Raptor, and a quick vacuum and application of Leather Conditioner, so that it was real shiny and smelling good for its oil change at the dealership.  Most of the service dept guys know that I use Adam's Polishes, so I like to make sure it looks good.  My service rep took his coworker out and told him, "you wanna see the cleanest truck that will ever roll through here?"

Today, did an inside and out detail on the little Rouge Sport.  H2O Guard & Gloss makes this metallic gray paint really pop!  So much easier to detail this little go-cart, compared to my big truck.
