Jake, do you still have some stickers to trade?

I have an extra "Circle A" with the white background and also have another "Caution: Detailer at Work" heading my way.

For the rest of you >>> Stay tuned for more trading options, my new friend Robert (rkj4243) has mailed me a bunch of extra stickers for trading.  I will post them up as soon as they arrive.  Thanks Robert!

Wanted to post this information and photos from the Corvette club I belong too in Michigan, regarding our annual show, and the charity we support.

The charity is Leader Dogs for the Blind, also located here in Michigan, and a great organization which provides FREE Leader Dogs to those who are blind.

The costs associated with raising and training each dog is about $38,000.00 and Leader Dogs operates only on charitable contributions, no support from government or other agencies.

This years show raised $7054.00 through a Silent Auction alone, not counting the entry fees which also get donated, or any other fund raising activity our group puts on throughout the year to support them. We try to donate $10,000.00 to them yearly, and with the great results from our show, we should be well on the way to achieving that goal.

We are a group of Corvette owners and enthusiasts with varying interests in restoring, showing and promoting Corvettes. Our membership is both social and show oriented with activities including dinner cruises, picnics, car shows and road tours. These activities bring our members and Corvette enthusiasts together with a common interest of having fun and driving Corvettes.
The GMC Corvette Set was established in March of 1976 by a group of GM Truck and Bus employees. In August of that year they held their first annual car show with the proceeds benefiting Leader Dogs for the Blind. This annual show has been held at scenic Olde World Canterbury Village in Lake Orion, MI since 2005.
This is our largest yearly event and has become the most unique Corvette only car show in the area. The rolling and shaded grounds of Olde World Canterbury Village provide the perfect atmosphere for a day of family fun and Corvettes.
Throughout our history, the club has continued to grow and is now a self-supporting non-profit organization. We have a very active membership of all ages and interests who enjoy the Corvette lifestyle.

Now for some Corvettes, these were the cars nominated by our club to be considered for the annual Motor City Corvette Concours show to be held in the fall. Only a select group of 30, from probably a collection of 70 - 80 qualify, as other shows in Michigan, and Canada send it nominations as well.

    Phil,

Attached are "before" and after using only Adam's Correcting Polish on a black C6 Corvette that was stored in an industrial building, uncovered for the last 5 years. Car has only 6600 miles, and since I bought it, and wish to show it, I wanted 100% correction.

As bad as it initially looked, these pictures were taken before using Adam's Finishing Polish, and foam pads.

Granted, it took numerous passes with the Cyclo, and time to get it completed wasn't a factor, but don't be too quick to give up.

Yes, it is best to work inside where the elements don't affect product, or heat of the surface you are working on.

I can't provide information on the Rupes, but can tell you that the Cyclo will correct as good as any other machine, it just may require additional passes.

I have the Cyclo, use it for all the vehicles I have detailed in the past 8 months, and I would only consider getting another machine (Flex) to assist me in getting those vehicles with really bad paint corrected faster.

Hope that this helps you somewhat? Check out some of the detailing posts I have for photo documentation, as all vehicles were completed with the Cyclo.

I only hope that the forum members here like LONG stories, with a lot of photos, to see what the results of using Adam's products, and proper equipment sold by them can lead too?

If you check out some of my prior posts, you will see that I wrote smaller detailing articles about a 2004 Magnetic Red II C5 Corvette Coupe and a 1996 Sebring Silver C4 Corvette Collector Edition Coupe.

This 2007 has replaced BOTH of them, as it was too difficult to decide which one I should sell, so I sold them both!

That happened due to the fact that the subdivision I live in also has an homeowners association, where we are not supposed to park vehicles outside of the garage, and having (2) Corvettes in my garage, meant the daily drivers had to be parked outdoors. I didn't have an issue with the majority of the neighbors, but there was one retired person who made a major issue out of it for whatever reason he thought may be important.

I fond this 2007 which had 2 previous owners, the last one a collector who stored it in UNCOVERED in an old industrial warehouse, and drove it a total of 700 miles in the past 5 years.

The car had 6520 miles on it when I went to look at it, and after driving it and sealing the deal, and driving it home, it now has 6700 miles. Spent the last month or so, in my garage, being made "whole" and into a show car. The reason I choose to show it is because my 96 Collector Edition was a Concours Show Car here in the Detroit, MI area, and award winning. Had to replace that, that was my thought and goal.

OK, on to the photos of the "as started condition" and I will say that I spend between 2 to 4 hours per panel, to correct, and finish polish over a 15 day or night time period, as I do have a "day job" and other responsibilities to attend too.

Read the article here posted here regarding removing the gray paint from the barrels, and a quote is below:

There should probably be a warning on page 1 of this thread...

When you remove the paint from the wheel barrels, there is no guarantee that the chrome underneath will be presentable. Significant chrome flaws in the barrels will NOT prevent a wheel from making it out of the factory since the flaws will be painted over.

I just spent some time yesterday cleaning and sealing mine with Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner, and Quick Sealant.

Granted, not as shiny as the chromed, but still very clean, and easy to clean during normal washes using the Wheel Woolies and Turbo Stick on any area where brake dust or road grime / tar may have accumulated.

LOL... I will never understand the outright obsession with slight discoloration on towels. Think about this -

A white towel is going to be the easiest way to see dirt, grime, debris, etc... a little discoloration being the only downside, but it doesn't impact performance in the least. On the flip side you can have colored towels, that make it difficult to see contamination in the fibers that are potential for damage.

I get OCD, but OCD for the wrong reasons is beyond me - ultimately my OCD falls on the prevention of damage to paint, not the color of my towels. Guess it takes all kinds.

As far as the towels... look for the full sale announcement later today. I wouldn't jump on them just yet as you may end up missing out on other things.
