  1. Crazy seeing this thread resurrected from the dead... My how have the tides have changed on the opinions of the rupes.
  2. http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/9168-tech-tip-caring-for-suede-micro-suede-interior-surfaces/?hl=alcantara everything you need to know about alcantara is riiiight here.
  3. i leave the bags unsealed. its more to keep from cross. They sit in a container without a lid. easier to sort.
  4. I don't. I typically just throw it in an unsealed bag in my microfiber app box.
  5. Wheels are hot, and are exposed to a lot stress that you're paint doesn't see. Constant contamination from brake dust, heat from braking, etc. The wheel coating is formulated for those stresses.
  6. What kind of blower are you using that doesnt just push everything up in the air only for it re-settle elsewhere the car? I'm thinking master blaster would just make a mess!
  7. For black paint, I think you're going to have to be really good and a little lucky to not need to finish it off with finishing polish. at least that was my experience with the Rav4.
  8. For Black, one stepping with the orange correcting polish is going to be difficult. In my experiment on a rental Rav4 i had, yes, the Toyota black paint is extremely soft. All black paints are going to be somewhat softer in nature due to all the pigments in the paint to get the color. Both of my Toyotas are Pre-dawn Grey Mica and with proper washing techniques are relatively easy to keep healthy looking.
  9. In a pattern that doesn't go EVERYWHERE over your wheels and fenders it still kind of comes out in smaller streams. I usually hit the tread block and then one or two squirts into the foam applicator. For the MOST ridiculous shine I've ever played with I did a layer of VRT that I let dry all the way and then a coat of Tire Shine. Let it dry. And then another coat of tire shine. It was too much shine for me.
  10. What protection do you have on your car? After a wash and pool rinse, the master blaster makes light work of the rest.
  11. Well, if you've found something that works better for you, then by all means... To my knowledge, the only pads that changed from last update to the "gen 6" pads is the blue heavy cut pad and new microfiber pad. the correcting pad and finishing pad are still the same as they were when the gen 6 system was released this past February. At that same time, the correcting and finishing polish formulas were simply moved to 8oz bottles. This is the first acknowledged formula change on Correcting and Finishing polishes I recall reading from the last 2 years. To each their own. As for me, neither of my vehicles will need heavy cut, and the current(or now previous) correcting polish and finishing polish formulas with the Gen 5 pads suit my needs just fine.
  12. Sounds like we have our answers. New tires that just needed a really deep cleaning. The biggest beef I have with the Adam's tire brushes is the handle and the length of the bristles. Its difficult to really apply some torque, for lack of a better word, because of the longer bristles.
  13. I have smooth black textured b-pillars. Dont have trim coating but would think it would do ok since its a true textured plastic surface.
  14. Problem with Dawn is it takes a lot of water to wash away!
  15. Same way as when you have a lot of towels. I usually only have about 12 towels to wash after a typical weekend. I might run an extra rinse+spin cycle to ensure I got all the revitalizer out.
  16. My wife's battery gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. As she was getting a jump from her campus police department, he commented on how clean the engine bay was. "its almost like new!" she told me he said. She told him he would pass his along his compliment to me.
  17. The chemicals make up for of StripWash was very hard on the PET plastic bottles making them very fragile in weaker areas of the bottles causing them to potentially break. They now ship in HDPE bottles that are more resistant to chemicals.
  18. I've seen a lot of Scott's work on other forums. Scott's endorsement of this tool should not be taken lightly.
  19. Welcome Chris. What part of the great republic do you call home?
