  1. You could probably use SW or a few ounces of APC in your wash bucket.
  2. I use DS without any issue at all. Adam demos this in all of his videos and at clinics in person,, so if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me. If it adds any layer at all, it's extremely minimal since DS contains a small amount of carnuba, but the polish will make quick work of that and you won't even notice. If you don't have DS, I've heard WW or diluted RW will work, but I've never tried. I also tend to clay without drying the car and use the residual water for extra lubricity.
  3. Welcome to the addiction, Geoffrey! @shane@detailedreflections has you covered with his article as do the rest on their inputs. From my experience, I got with the PC as a lesser expensive option to get started, learned, and was getting great results. Yes, it vibrates, but without anything to compare it to, I couldn't really complain and just got used to it. Fast forward, and I recently picked up the 15mm SK. Haven't done a full detail with it yet, but it made pretty quick work on a bad scratch on a co-worker's car and the difference in vibration was definitely noticeable...this one's really smooth. Now my PC will become my 4" polisher until/unless I get a 12mm SK Mini (to do this, you change the backing plate and use the smaller 4" pads).
  4. I always rinse it out, let it dry, and put it back in the plastic case it came in. Cleaning it after use is what will help most to remove any contaminants. But some marring should be expected regardless just given its design.
  5. General rule is most durable first, so for those two, HGG then Americana. But switching them isn't necessarily "wrong." Here's some good reading about differences in products and how to layer.
  6. You can clay whenever you feel necessary. After long trips, when the baggie test shows its needed, etc. Just realize it may cause some marring, especially the mitt, so that may lead to paint correction before you wanted to do so. You can/should clay glass, too, so don't forget that. The current formula of PS should last at least 6 months, by the way. Oh, and questions are expected and encouraged. So ask away!!
  7. Thanks, Lenore! I'm really not trying to overthink this so I might order one of those. But since the handle sticks out, that will drive my OCD a little crazy. I'll keep my suggestion on the table in the meantime, hoping for something designed to fit the whole thing snuggly.
  8. Because pictures (read: videos) are worth a thousand words, here's a video for both the mitt and the clay. Personally, I find myself using the mitt more now because of the time it saves. But clay is great, too. Recommend you perform the baggie test Adam describes at the start of the Visco clay video just so you can feel the difference...it pretty remarkable.
  9. On the contrary, I was asking for a low cost option, similar to a travel shoe bag. Just something protective for the polisher, not expensive or big. Thanks for the tips...I'll take a look at what I can find until/unless Adam's releases an option, and we'll see what happens.
  10. Nice work, Brandon! And congrats on the house. First time home owner?
  11. Welcome, Adam! Don't be fooled...you're addicted. Just accept it. And enjoy the shine!
  12. Don't travel and forget a bottle of ON, lest your rental car reek of BO from the previous renter. ??
  13. Yes, it can be used after a wash to add gloss and protection. In fact, CB can be used as a stand alone sealant, similar to HGG, and is silica-based (vs HGG which is an acrylic resins). See the instructions on the bottle for application methods following a wash, etc. It's advertised for last months, but I can't attest to that since I use/favor HGG. I'd say using it once/month or so would be more than sufficient and any more often overkill, potentially losing some gloss, etc, because of too much with layering. WW is awesome, and if you haven't done a wash using it, I recommend you give it a try. You might be surprised. And it smells incredible...addicting, even. Other uses are door jams and the engine bay. Compared to DS, direct from the product website, it "is a more effective cleaner, and has more lubricant designed to remove larger dirt particles without causing swirls. It also has no gloss enhancers, so it leaves your paint clean but not glossy. Follow Adam's Waterless Car Wash with Adam's Detail Spray to enhance the gloss!"
  14. Thanks, Kyle. You're on the same track that I am, then. Just something to put the polisher in within the polisher bag to keep it from getting damaged by other items around it. Although a little bulky, that could be an interim fix. Thanks for the idea, Rich. Not quite sure a sticker would work, though...
  15. That really looks great, Bill. Well done!!
  16. Welcome, Scotty! I'll take @pirahnah3/Jim's accurate inputs a little further. Both PS and HGG are acrylic resins so are in the same "family" of protective products. The HGG will last you about a month or so, and it's an awesome product (my favorite from Adam's). The PS will last you at least 6 months, and you can use HGG to maintain every 3-4 washes or so. Basically, it's up to you what to use. But if you do eventually switch to the sealant as your base, as I'd recommend, be sure to strip wash it first. Here's a great article so you can learn more:
  17. The wax applicator is in and stored with the case.
  18. Does the iron content of the water matter if diluting Iron Remover? Either way, where does it go in the bottle when it is "removed"??!! ? ?
