Hi Shane, thanks for signing up to AdamsForums!

Just curious, what part of Pittsburgh are you from? I'm about 50 minutes south of you! We have an awesome local dealer of Adam's products right in our area too at Grabiak Chevrolet if you ever need things in a hurry

    What's up everyone?

Not really new to detailing, but hadn't heard of Adam's until a few weeks ago from a guy I work with.

So far I'm happy with how the leather conditioner is working compared to what I've used in the past.

I'm waiting for the ceramic trim coating, wheel cleaner and pumpkin detail spray to show up.  My CX 5 has entirely too much black trim on the outside so if I can keep that looking good for longer that will be money well spent.  I also stocked up on the pumpkin air fresheners.  That scent is absolutely amazing.

Here's my CX 5.  This was shortly after I bought it so it was polished and waxed with another brand but I think it turned out pretty good.

Has anyone ever heard the story of the Wolf who cried wolf?

Sorry about that.  I'm not sure why a few new items did not get released today, since the sale discount code was up all day.  But, at least some of you knew to wait to see what the new products are, rather than place an order after seeing the sale discount code on the website banner.

I missed the voting thread last month because I was "here" in Telluride, CO: The car is completely trashed at this point, sleet on top of dirt, and still the Adam's shine shows through! Btw, I don't recommend driving a '79 Trans Am downhill in sleet at 11,000 elevation posted speed limit only 25 and no guard rails, when the defrost quits working too!

Yep, do it, Sherri! Easy to do and my favorite product hack to date, it also makes the car smell like pina colada!
And what Eric and Chris said above are spot on...

Yep - what Eric said!  It really does make a car "pop" with shine.  I haven't tried it yet on my interior windshield, but that's on my "to do" list!

I give out a 2 oz samples of Brilliant Glaze to my friends to try out on their interior windshields.  As I have done it to all our cars (including daily drivers), and it really cuts down on headlight glare too.  Such an easy thing to do & only takes a couple minutes, just wash your interior windshield, then put the brilliant glaze on, once it hazes buff off with a microfiber towel.  Then after a few weeks just take a microfiber towel to buff off any new haze....have found it lasts about 3 months (less on a daily driver).

I use Brilliant glaze all the time, it's a great for adding a ton of shine for a short period of time. Uses include glass, chrome, paint before a sealant or wax, paint after a sealant or wax, inside of the windshield to cut off that haze that can build up. Glaze has minor fillers in it to help hide minor imperfections to add to the shine.
They haven't changed the name in a long time, it was called Brilliance Spray glaze I believe at one point but, that was probably 5 years ago.

How long does it last? It depends. Applying it a few times a year, at a minimum, should be expected. About 200 miles of in-the-rain driving will likely remove it due to friction of the wipers, as will an entire reservoir of windshield washer fluid. Any cleaner or product with ammonia and/or alcohol will also remove the GS, so be careful about what you use (Adam's GC doesn t have either). Adding the boost will only serve to prolong its life.

Agreed with Sherri...get the sealant first, then add the boost later. While it's a small bottle, don't worry, it doesn't take much to seal the windshield.

I absolutely love the Glass Sealant - it could possibly be my favorite Adam's chemical product (if not, it's definitely in the top 3).  It works extremely, extremely well.  I can't really say how long it lasts by itself because I also use the Glass Boost on it (plus, I reapply the Glass Sealant probably more often than I need to because I want to keep its performance at its peak - before the sealant even begins to wear off).  But I easily get a few months out of the Sealant & Glass Boost combo.

This sounds crazy, I know, but I still smile every single time it starts raining and I get to watch the water fly off the windshield.  I drove to work yesterday in the rain and didn't even need to use my wipers until I got down under 35 mph (and I last applied Glass Sealant in July, I think - using Glass Boost just once in that time period).

I also like the fact that I seem to have less water spotting on the glass after rainstorms than I used to get prior to using the sealant.

If you're only going to get one product at a time, I would get the actual Glass Sealant first and then the Glass Boost later.  By itself, Glass Sealant would provide better results than just the Boost alone, in my opinion.

Wiped it down with alcohol and broke out the Adam's seal. For this car a applied the sealant with a microfiber square sponge thing. My thinking was that with winter coming up i wanted to lay a thick layer of sealant down. Not sure if im wrong about this as it seems like what sticks might be the same if done with machine or by hand.

Then glazed, always impressed with the Adam's glaze, goes on easy and super easy to buff off and looks awesome.

Finished off with some extra seal/carabuna wax.

6 hours and a sore back but i think it was worth it

P.S. No idea why the pictures are upside down.

    1. I usually get a few months out of glass sealant alone here in Oregon, where it rains 3/4 of the year. It lasts even longer if I add glass boost when needed

    2. Yes it is SOOO much better than rainx, no competition adams is much better.

    3. I found that the glass sealant repels water off glass easier and faster than the guard and gloss does. I don’t do my windows with guard and gloss anymore I only use the glass sealant and boost as I found it works much better.

    4. I would say get the boost. It takes the sealant from an application every 2-3 months to going 2-3 months, soray some boost on and go another couple months. I usually do the glass sealant 2 times a year. The kit is well worth it. I no longer use my wipers and it makes cleaning the windshield super easy as well!

Then again, as great as it is, I don't think Adam's could've put much of a dent into the damage that deer did.

P.S. No, I don't see bees hanging around much when I use it. But bugs in general really seem to like my (white) car a lot more when clean.

So, after a bad detail job on this gentelmans truck by another detailer, he was looking to find someone else to take care of his vehicles. One thing lead to another and he found me through a friend of mine. So I went and looked at this 2004 Mercedes of his and as expected, it was pretty beat from bad towels etc etc as you can see (he purchased it used). As we walked the car and I showed him how bad it was under bright lights he said to me " you aren't getting those scratches out, especially on the passengers side rear quarter where work was done" ! As he drove off, I couldn't wait to prove him wrong ! After some time and elbow grease, more like my Flex and Adams Orange and White polishing compounds, here are the results. Yes he was wrong, yes I am now doing all of other vehicles, and yes he's now an Adams fan !!

Besides parking upwind and walking, you'll likely need to focus on cleaning when possible vs. it not getting dusty. So you know, diluting RW 16:1 creates a WW-like solution that can be used for the same purposes. It won't smell as aweosme, in my opinion, but it will get the job done at a much more economical price point. That, or buy a light-colored car that doesn't show dust as much (I assume your's is dark/black).

Ok, yes. The wheel cleaner isn’t the best smelling Adams product out there (that is clearly the ceramic boost), but we are mostly aware of how awesome it works on wheels.

But let me bring some of you up to speed on it’s real magic. Went on vacation and had a friend house sit for us. They someone managed to leave quite a few rust stains in my stainless sink. I tried a dozen different things to clean them out to no avail. I was ready to pull out the steel wool and start really having at it when I decided to give the wheel cleaner a shot.

Sprayed it on liberally and I ust like that, the rust turned purple and ran down the drain!!!

My kitchen smells a little funny at the moment, but I’m extatic.

Tomorrow. I order up a gallon!

The suds are very important, as they allow the shampoo mixture, with the cleaning agents and polymers, to dwell longer on the surface, so you have a chance to use your wash media. The suds provide "hang time" for the shampoo; without the suds, then the mixture runs off quicker. The more hang time with the suds, the more lubrication that stays on the surface, the safer the wash, and the less you have to hurry before it runs off.

So, a couple months ago I helped my 16 year old brother buy his first car, 2013 Kia Rio hatch, he's currently paying me back. I helped him under the stipulation that he would take care of his car and keep up on all maintenance. He's been all over it so far, washes it once a week using all Adam's products from my stock. A week ago, about 6:30 AM Saturday going to work. Backing out of our driveway he bumped into the fire hydrant accidentally.
He comes inside after work, head down and tells me what happened. I told him it's not a big deal we all make mistakes, especially when starting out driving. Just be careful in the future. Enter today, I had a little bit of free time this afternoon. Figured I should try to remove as much damage as possible. I've done this a couple times in the past with some success. Tools used: heat gun(carefully), Rupes LHR75E, heavy correction, correcting polish, 4 inch microfiber pad, orange correcting polish pad.
    Before

    After

Definitely made quite a difference, not the greatest pictures but you get the idea. Unfortunately the scratches remaining are through the clear. Being plastic I'm not that worried though.
