I'm behind on my posting of what I did over the weekend.  If it wasn't for being a friend, I'm not sure I could have handled this one.   Sometimes, you have to go against your better judgement and do what is best for the person.   The first picture is as delivered, the second picture is after it had some "shine" put to it.   The rains came in on Sunday, so I didn't get to take an outdoor picture before it departed.

The Dodge paint is rather soft and there are plenty of stone chips for being a 2018.   I offered to correct them if she picks up a Paint Pen and then I'll put CSC on it to try and keep it looking decent a big longer.  At this point, I know the vehicle is clean so as long as nobody else touches it, it shouldn't be too bad to get get prepped for CSC.

Just wanted to share some pics with the good members here plus any lurkers who may be on the fence about the Ceramic Waterless Wash.
we finally started getting rain, yesterday, after 6 weeks of bone dry weather with temps near 100 at times.  The Subaru this morning, untouched, as it sits.  Coming home last night, we hit a downpour for about10 miles.  To reiterate, long term base coating, three applications of the Ceramic WW , one time used a s a Rinseless wash.  Car was traditional washed last week.
Hopefully , you can tell by the pics, on how great a job it did with rejecting the vast amounts of precip and Environmental contamination.  In the one pic, you can see the dirt accumulation along the rocker panels and lower doors but  that’s about it.  Keep in mind, no rain in 6 weeks and high temps...
Ive been Detailing 30 years and Adams Ceramic and have tried many products.  This is one of my all- time favorites...

Sorry, I meant to put “me” in between had and looking.  I researched it and it doesn’t.  We are looking to relocate to eastern TN plus we go visit my family up north in December.

Okay, NO MORE Yellow Subaru. Went and got me a new 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid. I didn't do anything to the interior except TRY to clean the windows.

On Sunday: After getting some great help from @Nickfire20
I used a whole bottle of Iron Remover and there was more fallout than I ever imagined for a new car.

I had a piece of a bottle of Wheel Cleaner which was just enough for all four wheels Then I rinsed and dried the entire car I then used the Adam's White Fine Grade Clay Bar with DS and clayed the complete car. After I was done, I remembered I forgot to clay the wheels. Maybe next time I put maybe 3 ounces of Car Shampoo and 3 ounces of Eco All Purpose Cleaner in the Foam Cannon and the Wash Bucket I foamed the entire car, there was a lot of foam. And I used the mit and washed the entire car and then rinsed with the power washer I used my blower and dried the car. There wasn't enough left to towel dry but I drug it over everything anyway I then parked it in the garage while this old man went in and got him some Air Conditioning. I figured I'd let both me and the car cool down a bit as the sun was hitting the trunk and back window After an hour or two I went out into the garage and applied the Surface Prep spray to the entire car Once that was complete I applied the Ceramic Spray Coating and let it cure overnight Monday (Today):
Got up early this morning and applied the Ceramic Boost Pulled the car out of the garage and applied the Tire Shine I noticed there were at least a million streaks on the exterior of the glass that I didn't see yesterday after applying the Ceramic Spray Coating. I assumed it was from the Ceramic Boost I applied today. After going onto the Forum asking for help, it was suggested to try Ceramic Waterless Wash. I'm happy to say, IT WORKED!!
This being my very first time to do anything other than run it through the chemical tunnel, I have to say, it looks pretty darn good for a rookie. THANKS TO EVERYONE who guided me. I can't begin to thank everyone but just to give a shout out to a few: @falcaineer @Nickfire20 @mc2hill @Rich @SouthernSteve and a Host of Others.

That reminds me, I’ve got to call Discount Tire on Monday to get my winter wheel/tire set out of storage.

So what does one do detail wise on an October Friday you have off with warm temperatures but it’s pouring rain outside?

    I know!

You get your car ready for winter with an Adam’s winter prep detail.

I started with a rinseless wash using Adams rinseless wash. I then followed up with Visco clay bar using Adams Pumpkin Spice Detail Spray as a clay lube. It’s a couple years old and I figured I’d use it before it went bad on me plus my wife loved the smell of the garage while grabbing fire wood and checking on my progress.

After clay bar I used the Swirl Killer 21 and Adam‘s Finishing Polish making the SS paint clean and swirl free.  I did however find a couple of spots where I had to use the PC with a 3 inch MF compounding pad followed by a 3 inch MF finishing pad to remove some junk left behind careless passers by to the SS.  I love that PC and will probably never get rid of it.

I then used Adams Surface Prep to get the paint squeaky clean and ready for coating.  The paint was then coated using Adams Paint Coating and allowed to sit overnight before i applied Adam’s Ceramic Boost to the paint coating today.   I found the coating very easy to use.  My garage was in the low to mid 60’s. Flashing was easy to see as my garage is well lit and wipe down was a breeze.  The Surface Prep  while easy to use does not have a pleasant smell.  Additionally,  I applied Paint Coating to the exhaust tips. I did this when I first got the car two years ago. It makes clean up a breeze, as in wipe down with rinseless wash or car shampoo and I’m back to CLEAN.

Today,  the tires got Adams Tire Shine and all glass, inside and out,  was cleaned with Adams glass cleaner. Interior got a quick wipe down with Adam’s Interior Detailer. The trunk was emptied of my fishing gear (6 rods, tackle box, tackle backpack, fanny pack plus assorted odds and ends.) I gave it a quick vacuum then three good sprays of Adam’s Pineapple Orchid Odor Neutralizer. All four mud flaps got Adam’s Tire Shine as well then out in the sun for some pics.

    Like a mirror...but squiggly.

Or get both. They each have their place. Think of Wash & Coat as Wash & Wax on steroids (the latter contains silica, not carnauba). Two things I will say about the Wash & Coat, though: it doesn't foam as much as I'd like, and the smell isn't one of my favorites. Somewhat subjective feedback, but I wanted to mention it no less.

I was due for an upgrade all around ... I’ve been addicted to Adams since 2010... micro fibers are spent, spray bottles are worn out. Miscellaneous stuff in the cabinet... it will be so nice to have NEW stuff....and continue using up the old on the work truck.

My Subaru was White but I wrapped it in Yellow. I can't begin to tell you how many people would comment on it. The wife's Lexus and last 10 cars have been White. White is okay, I just find there are way too many white cars on the road and in parking lots. Nothing makes them unique. They don't stand out. I also find it hard to really see a white car look good after you clean it up. For example, there are a few red cars and trucks that look marvelous after you clean them up on this forum. Black cars and trucks really pop after being cleaned up as seen on this forum. I wouldn't have either color personally but I love the way they look. White just doesn't pop or stand out. But that's my opinion.

    Congrats, Nice car.

I would use iron remover, so you get as much crud off before claying, reducing chances of marring.  Then I would use fine grade,  you can also do the baggy test after IR, to see if anything is left on the surface.

Surface Prep should in fact remove DS residue. And is a must before the ceramic

Boost can be applied after it cures,  I would wait at least 6hrs after application

As a reference for Adam’s clay...

    Hi All,
I purchased a new Toyota Avalon Hybrid over the weekend. It is unfortunately another white car. I can't seem to get away from having a white car.

Anyway, I want to use the Ceramic Spray Coating on the car but figured I better decontaminate first. Do I need to use Iron Remover if I'm going to Clay Bar the car? I can't see any brown spots but that doesn't mean they aren't there. I watched Adam's video for the Iron Remover and he mentioned it is not a replacement for Clay Bar. But I'm not sure if I need to use both.

Next question is what type of Clay Bar should I use? Being a new 2020 I figure the "Fine Grade" clay will suffice. I am also looking at the "Visco Clay Bar" but I don't really understand the difference. Which should I use? Since I am going to use Ceramic Spray, what should I use to lubricate the Clay Bar? I have Detail Spray but since I'll be applying Ceramic I was thinking not to use Detail Spray. But then I'm thinking since I'll be using the Ceramic Surface Prep, that should take care of the residue from the Detail Spray, right?

Then the process would be to wash, dry, apply Surface Prep, apply Ceramic Spray Coating. Should I use Ceramic Boost after applying the Ceramic Spray or is that not necessary at this point? I already have a bunch of the Ceramic Waterless I'll be using routinely with the Boost every 4-6 weeks.

So, do I need to use Iron Remover? Which Clay Bar should I use? Am I correct about the Detail Spray residue being removed by Surface Prep?

    Thanks in advance.

My go-to routine for Weathertech mats is Tire & Rubber Cleaner followed up by Ceramic Spray Coating. Give it a shot. It will make them much easier to clean up, and darkens them up a slight amount too!

I tried something new for the first time. I used the in and out spray to give my worn out weather techs a better look and they turned out looking almost brand new. Not too slippery. Let them air dry outside the vehicle for about two hours tho. It actually worked super good. U would be surprised!
