Dan@Adams got a reaction from Kourtney@Adams in My Trip To Adam's HQ!
    Hey guys and gals!

I've had so many thoughts running through my head for the past week, and I've been super busy dealing with some exciting things, that I'm not even sure where to start, but here we go!

A little background on me real quick: I've been an Adam's Polishes fanatic since I made the switch to Adam's products when I bought my GTO new back in 2006, and I've never looked back. Made in the USA products mean a lot to me, and when you add ease of use and incredible results to that, well, I think that's just awesome!  I would say I've done full exterior and interior details on around 60 cars now in the last 2 1/2 years as an evening and weekend hobby to help out friends, local businesses, and even some customers that travel 90 minutes down from Pittsburgh. I know I don't have thousands of posts on here (yet!) like some of you do, but a lot of my friends and road rally buddies usually refer to me as something along the lines of "the Adam's guy"

I've been helping Dave out at some of the Carlisle Events for the past 2 years, as well as helping Adam and Ray at the Grabiak Chevrolet Detail Clinics. I had an absolutely amazing week helping out at Corvettes at Carlisle a couple weeks back, and towards the end of the show, Adam offered for me to come out to Colorado to see Headquarters, meet the team, and to help out at the Goodguys 18th Colorado Nationals. Seeing as I had a long weekend, a bazillion or so airline miles, and an opportunity to continue my passion of detailing cars and interacting with the car community, I said ABSOLUTELY!

I cannot say thank you enough to Adam, Matt, Kent, Ben, Kourtney, Joe and every other member of the team for making me feel so welcome and giving me such an outstanding experience!

So now, I'll post up a sort-of photo journal of my weekend adventure to Colorado

Thursday, September 10, 2015, 0400...on the cold, wet rainy drive to PIT airport. I wasn't even phased by the weather and was so pumped up to get to the airport and catch my flight. I let out an evil laugh more than once as the rain was no match for HGG at 70mph on the highway...I had to get a quick shot of some 5am beading action.

Thursday, September 10, 2015, 1100...obligatory airplane travel shot. Oh Hi there Orlando! Quick connection flight and then non-stop to Denver.

The man himself, Adam, picked me up at the airport and we had to make a quick stop at Purifoy Chevrolet to transport a gorgeous 2016 Corvette Stingray over to Loveland for the Goodguys show.

Adam said that Ben would be meeting us at the dealership, so I had assumed that either Ben or one of the dealership employees would be transporting this dream ride, then after some paperwork, a gentleman hands me the keys! At this point I'm floating somewhere above cloud 9 and thinking to myself "...and I haven't even been in Colorado for an hour yet!"

I was smitten with this car after 2 or 3 miles on the road, even with it being the 8 speed auto...perfect color combo, perfect seating position, perfect handling and exhaust note with the bi-modal exhaust, perfect view of the aggressive fender arches through the windshield...perfect... The 35 or so miles to the show were truly a wonderful moment on beautiful roads that I won't forget.  This was really the only picture I snapped during the drive, before we got to those beautiful highways, but at least it shows the sweet HUD

Fully customizable gauge cluster, similar to my Buick/Opel Regal, just way more options and modes! Track mode is out of this world.

To be continued tomorrow with more of the adventure and a lot more pictures, but for right now I should probably get some rest!

Yeah, the price is definitely steep, but I imagine they aren't making a ton of money on them due to all of the technology inside that tiny ball, plus all of the R&D and marketing associated with it.

I still think it's cool. Lol.

To clarify, I've never purposely applied SVRT to a plastidipped wheel, but I have spread some onto a wheel by accident and had no issues. I typically use Car Shampoo or Waterless Wash on plastidipped surfaces. I will have to do some testing with Quick Sealant and get back to you. I have a plastidipped mini fridge in my garage that could make a good test subject, or I will just dip a spare winter wheel I have laying around

I'm not ashamed to admit that I've loved reading a great science fiction book or watching a science fiction film since I was a child, and my dad and brother got me hooked on Star Wars at a young age.

I remember going to see the prequels in the theater at midnight with my brother and best friend. Now I'm in my early 30's and unless you've been living under a rock, you probably know there's a new Star Wars film on the way in December...there's also this pretty remarkable little app-enabled droid that went on sale, BB-8 from the Force Awakens. The video is a little cheesy but it shows some pretty incredible technology, design, and engineering for such a small toy.

    https://youtu.be/-1Y2WfcCb4M

I'm truly amazed at how far technology has come in the last 10 years, to be able to have so much control at your fingertips on a phone - from remotely starting a car to changing the thermostat or lighting in my house while I'm at work or half way across the world to WiFi door locks and now to this cool little robot toy. Ha.

In the not too distant future I can easily see something like this "toy" advancing to something with a mini camera and microphone to patrol the house and detect pets or intruders, or say if a family member was hurt, and send alerts to your phone or emergency services. Sometimes technology is just plain cool, and I have a feeling this is going to be one very popular gift this holiday season! I think I might just buy one for my older brother to say thanks for so many great memories all these years.

My wife drives a Volvo XC70 wagon that has the plastic cladding all around the lower sides of the vehicle as well as the front and rear bumpers.

I do the wheels, tires and inner fenders/wheel wells first. Do one side, then before I move to the other, I clean that cladding with APC and my Fender Brush. Then before I dump the bucket, I do the front and rear bumpers. Rinse well.

While washing the car, I'll still wipe the plastic with my wash pad or wedge to make sure all the APC has been removed.

After drying, treat the cladding with SVRT or IN & Out Spray.

Yep, I've used both DWC and APC on plastidipped wheels with great success. Even on very bright colors of plastidip like Blaze Pink and Blaze orange, full strength APC did not stain or discolor the dip in any way for me. As always with plastidip, give extra care around the rim edge of the wheel to avoid having any of the dip peel back. I've had zero issues with SVRT as well, using a tire hex applicator to apply it.

I just picked up a Tornador to help with carpet and upholstery cleaning.

It works connected to an air compressor. This morning I added 4 ounces of Adam's CUC to 3 cups of water in the reservoir, hooked it to the air line and headed to the car.
I vacuumed the carpet first, this area is tough to clean with my Bissel hot water extraction machine, so hasn't gotten much more than vacuumed in the last 8 years and 107,000 miles.

Perfect? No, but my gosh the amount of dirt that was pulled out!

Welcome! I too had a black TBSS as a daily driver for over 5 years, and I still miss it!

While Pennsylvania doesn't have the extremes of desert heat, it does get incredibly humid here in the summer months, and I had no problems at all with the Brilliant Glaze and Americana combo. The results were always stellar!

If you want some added protection, Liquid Paint Sealant is the most durable product offered by Adam's, and you could always follow it up with BG and Americana or Patriot paste wax for that awesome, deep wet shine H2O Guard & Gloss is quickly becoming my new favorite product, so that's another option too!

    Should be fine grade.

If used properly (plenty of lubricant) - clay will not degrade or damage your coating.  However, its probably easier to decontaminate a nano coating by using a fallout remover rather than clay - thats what CQ recommends with their coatings.

Adams DWC diluted 1:1 is a great fallout remover.

    Hey Everybody,

I just wanted to introduce myself to the forums. I am the newest Adam's Polishes team member! I have been here about three months and am loving it.

A little background about me... I am a local to Louisville, CO where headquarters is located. I started out as a customer that would occasionally pick up detailing products for our household. One day I walked in to restock and met THE Adam! I mentioned to him that if he ever needed any help to let me know. The next week I was in the office working! My main focus here is customer service. If anyone ever needs anything or has a problem, feel free to give the office a call and if your lucky you'll get me. If your un-lucky you will get Ben. (Just kidding Ben!) You might have seen me at some shows or spoke to me on the phone already. I'm still learning and I'm sure will continue to learn for a long time about the detailing industry.

Some more information about me: I love all European automotive. Now, majority of our customer base is domestic automotive so I'm learning A LOT. No too long before I started working at Adam's I got my MK7 VW Golf and recently put some lowering springs and a down pipe on. Currently 3Zero3 Motorsports is waiting for REVO to send over the software for my stage 2 tune.

Anyhow, I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself so when you see me commenting on the forum (or if you're ever at headquarters) you don't have to wonder who I am.

Very happy with the way they stuck by me in order to come up with the best deal possible! So, with that being said... Matt, Ashley, and to the rest of the staff over at Adam's.... Hi Herman, I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing hazing issues with H2O Guard & Gloss on your z06, it's my new favorite product! To better understand the issue, I have a few questions

I see that you said you applied HGG one panel at a time, which is perfect, but how long did you let the product sit on the paint between spreading it with a wet microfiber towel and then removing it with a dry microfiber? For perfect results, I'm wiping a panel off almost immediately after I have spread the Guard & Gloss evenly across the panel. In other words, from spreading onto a panel to removal is around 30 seconds or so for me.

Also, as Stephen mentioned, a little product goes a long way. I will spray two or three sprays max on a door panel for example, and then once my towel is fairly saturated with the product, I will use even less, maybe one or two sprays on something like a side window.
