  1. In and Out Spray does a great job under the hood, and with a little buffing, it leaves the engine compartment looking great!
  2. I've never encountered a problem with Adam's bottles. Only problem I've ever had was with the Americana container, which Adam replaced as soon as a new better one was available. I'd contact customer service, I'm betting they will help you out.
  3. Don't do it...if you like your car you will regret it in a few years. Either get a "beater" to save your car, or wait until you can afford another...been there, done that...here's a few that I wish I would not have traded: 1969 Mach 1 w/390, 1969 442, 1968 Shelby GT-350...no need to go on...I still beat myself up for not keeping those!
  4. Great points being made here, I know that I have started using Detail Spray to help when I dry the car, and it seems to make the drying go a bit easier. So I agree, I can't imagine using just water for lubricant but I have heard of this being done. Also, just as a point of reference, Adam once told me that after claying there is no need to remove the residue if your next step is going to be Revive. I have found that this works, the Revive removing the clay residue and leaving the finish ready for the next step, so I would think it would be OK if you are claying with water and Detail Spray then following up with Revive, it would leave you with a finish ready for any steps you would chose to follow. Thus eliminating the drying step (somewhat).
  5. I have heard of this technique before, and don't see anything wrong with it. However, I do agree with Chris, you have to be careful that the car is clean before using the clay.
  6. Good idea, but how in the world do you ever install the header without getting covered with the stuff, it is really messy. I always it on the back of rotors to keep them from rusting to the hubs.
  7. Brilliant Glaze is thin, as is the Metal Polishes. If you remember that the glaze also does do some paint cleaning, you should always use it before wax. It will add depth and shine to the final look after you apply the wax.
  8. If you return all of the money the guy will understand that you are upset about questioning the price especially if he owns a business. Returning all the money will say a lot about how you feel about a cheap son of a gun that questions your price...I know I won't want to do business with someone who is a cheapskate! You should name his business so we can all avoid him!
  9. I agree the guy really can't understand how much work is involved in a detail, especially on a full size truck. My first thought is to give them all the money back and then explain how many hours and how much money you put into the detail of their truck. Then walk away and chalk it up to experience. Next time when a friend asks to do a detail, just say no and explain why you won't do it.
  10. I'm sure God is listening to our prayers, I would have never met so many wonderful people during my life if he wasn't, I've always consider that a reward. Also, I know we have guardian angels. I've been in way, way too many situations that I shouldn't have walked away from, so I know there was an angel (or 2) keeping a hand on my shoulder...I can guarantee.
  11. Very nice, the 150 looks great, your customer should be very pleased...hopefully they will keep it looking that good after all your hard work!
  12. I know that I had an old diver's knife that I have used for over 20 years with lots of exposure in salt water and it was nasty. I used both Metal Polish #1 & #2 on it and I am amazed how good it came out. They removed almost all of the rust and curd that had built up on the knife and honestly it looks like it hasn't been exposed to salt water. The Metal Polish does a great job. It's what I use on my exhaust tips and I am anal about keeping them looking shiny!
  13. Brandi, I was at a Scuba Instructor Examination over the week-end and met a couple of guys from Norfolk who work for Virginia Marine Police and Norfolk Police. Keep thinking of all you guys down that way and hoping you all are safe and not getting much damage. It looks like Ocean City, Maryland is getting hit hard. It has started getting rainy and windy here in Central Pennsylvania....looks like Sandy is going to end up parked on top of our area for 24-48 hours late tonight and tomorrow. Hope everyone is safe and isn't getting much damage.
  14. Thanks, hope you stay safe...Sandy is already affecting some friends in Florida. It looks like will dump some heavy rain and high winds here in Pennsylvania.
  15. Yes, we have had Vonage for several years now. It has been as good as our regular phone service. Only problem is if the internet is down so is the phone...not a big problem with cell available. It is great to be able to call anywhere in the country and have no additional cost. Sound quality is fine and overall there we have no complaints about Vonage, and no plans on changing.
  16. I am in total agreement with you guys. I am so glad that Adam didn't discontinue this several years ago when he had given it some though. I really think it adds a whole new dimension to any finish to which it is applied during the detail process!
  17. Welcome to Adam's Forums. Most other Adam's folks in our area will be glad to help you get started so you get the best possible look on you car. Again, welcome.
  18. Looks good! The hood looks like it's a Taurus hood. If that's the case consider yourself lucky to have that color. It was the rarest of all the 2010 Taurus colors. Oops just went back and re-read posts...sorry, I didn't see you said Taurus in the post. Here's a photo of mine:
  19. Understand completely. Yesterday: Wife: Son thanks for showing me how to use Google Earth and see the photos. I see Dad's truck is in the photo. Son: I'm surprised that Dad isn't in the photo waxing the truck! Maybe it was overcast that day? I wonder why I let him come home from college this weekend!!!
  20. I use it before applying the wax coat and I find it works GREAT on wheels. Really keeps the a lot of dirt and grime from sticking to the wheels and I am very pleased with how long it lasts. And it really does a great job of making bugs easier to remove from the front of the car.
  21. Because of the speed and the single action of the buffer it is very easy to remove the clearcoat and expose the base coat underneath. If that happens it means repainting the entire panel plus blending to make the paint match. I have seen it happen and it's not pretty! Really in this day and age there is no reason to risk it when there are such fine dual action polishers available that make it very difficult to harm the finish.
  22. Just a word about Adam's Waterless Wash. Just came in from going over the car with Waterless Wash. I had driven to pick my son up at college last weekend and had gotten some bugs on the front and also a bit of dust on the car. I am still constantly amazed at how easy it is to remove the bugs from the front using WW. Also the car sure looks great after a quick going over with the Waterless Wash. Of course it does help that the front of the car does have a coat of Quick Sealant and 2 coats of Americana. But I really do love WW and Detail Spray! Don't know what I'd do without them.
  23. I totally agree with Mook, I believe if you are not experienced with the DeWalt and rotary buffers, you are asking for trouble. Heck, I've seen experienced body guys burn through paint with a rotary. I'm thinking you should thank your dad and return it and start with one of the orbitals. IMHO
