I usually tell people "All detailing processes are AS NEEDED" meaning:
 
If its dirty... wash it. 
If its rough... clay it. 
If its swirled... polish it.
If the water doesn't bead... wax it. 
 
Other than those circumstances there isn't anything that has to be done at any specific interval. Address the issues as they arrive. 

Not sure how familiar you are with the backstory, but thanks to patent laws ITW (the parent company of clay magic) has control of all clay sold in the US. Its not 'bad' clay, but there is better out there. 
 
I'd agree that the stuff we currently sell is better than average... but it can be better. 
 
Anyone who has used clay from the UK (like bilt hamber labs) knows the difference. Softer, more malleable, easier to work with, less chance of marring, etc. 
 
Prior to the patent going into effect we sold a yellow clay that was AMAZING... so soft and sticky... it was a dream to work with. We hope to go back to that type of bar and are looking at solutions currently. 

I use a clay from the UK that plain blows the currently available stuff away.  What I like about it, is it's a bit safer on corrected paint, but still removes the contamination.   It's more malleable without being gooey!  I can't stand gooey clay.  
 
Adams clay is just as good as any other clay in the USA, but compared to what's available everywhere else in the world, it's just OK.  
 
Adams knows this and it's driven them NUTS for years.

did anyone notice while he was removing the wax it sounded like he was using sand paper.
 
I guess he never heard of clay bar and foam applicators before.

:lol:What's he using? A paper towel?? And I guess he couldn't get the cap off the "quality" wax he was using and had to poke a hole in the bottle! Too funny! Good find Jesse.

Rumor has it we will finally be able to break free from the ITW/Clay Magic patent law on July 28th (barring their lawyers getting more extensions on the patent or other legal maneuvering). I already have a dozen different bars on my desk that are being tested.

I know but I REALLY like the singles......and you cant beat the price when you buy the 2 packs.
 
IMO, at the present time, the Single softs are quite possibly THE perfect towel.

VRT was the first Adam's product that I ever used, and I was blown away with the ease of use and the results. Once it was reformulated to be water repellent that was just the icing on the cake.

Do it and post a review, guaranteed what will win.  You here alot of input from CG on the Autonerd website, they just don't know better.  There's a few pro Adams guys on there, but they bash it pretty often, many without ever even trying it.

HAHA... the rare, and not often documented, almost empty Americana. 
 
A quick melt will level out the remaining goodness to a more usable shape... that or break out chunks and rub the wax onto the applicator.

guys, the above was not done with Adams polishes or pads. :(
sad sad.... I love adams products, but I got to call and pursue the refund.
I will continue to use MANY MANY adams products, as I love them. The polishes/pads just aint for me. I have nothing but respect for the line and the products. Adam and the gang will still get PLENTY of my money, it just wont be from polish or pad sales.
There is STILL 100+ different products to buy right?????

since I am now on the road to perfection, I think I will treat myself to an order of more single softs, maybe a jumbo wash pad too!!! LOL!
 

 
 

Alright so luckily last night and this morning it was raining so we have no sun today and my car was wet when whoever threw eggs at my car.  I went out and did a complete strip was of the car, dried it, and now it is in the garage about to have sealant and wax put on it. Thanks for the help!

then I would probably spray that spot with APC then wash the entire car.
 
if no time for entire car, I would go APC then do the entire panel with waterless wash to make sure you got it all.
be sure to inspect the panels around it too just to make sure you got it all (reason I say wash the entire car)
