  1. 3m adhesive remover and either a plastic razor blade or your finger nail. For the chalk, any APC or OTC tire cleaner with a scrub brush.
  2. I could see using your hands to apply the conditioner to actual leather, like the seats...conditioners have been applied to leather forever with this method. I can't imagine using your hands to apply Leather Conditioner to you're dashboard or inner plastic panels however. The whole point is to work it in so the material soaks it up, on something like hard plastic, I'll take an applicator. If you need them quick Matt, I can send you some.
  3. I don't go in to a panick, but now that you mention it, there is even more items than usual removed from the site. I'm glad I'm well stocked up on everything but chemicals, because once things go off the site, they take an eternity to show back up it seems like. I don't know if it's the distributors or what, but I'd be curious to know why also.
  4. Yeah, Dave I just read that article yesterday on their profit margins. Although they lose about $1 - $2 billion a year on Amazon Prime, this is because of the video streaming and other ventures that they have dove into without see the profit margins increase from these ventures, and the cost of shipping. Amazon is an anomoly, low profit margins...but still huge profits if that makes any sense. Share prices are going up like mad. The tax was always a big thing with me, now that we have to pay tax in California, and the projected $20 - $40 increase of the Prime accounts, it's going to be a tough sell for the casual shopper, but will still be worth it for someone that uses them a ton. I personally don't think they will lose many customers, but we shall see. One of the many articles out there: http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2014/01/30/amazon-raise-prime-price/5063693/ from the article: "Keep in mind that a lot of Prime paying members allow family members to use the service as well." I guess I shouldn't complain too much, haha. I have a bunch of people who use my account, and my dad says he's going to split it with me this year.
  5. A little tip I've been using forever...fill your clay tub with HOT water, the clay will be like butter and much more pliable around body lines, and also helps with the needing and folding. Like others have stated, pretty straight forward process. My son helps me clay vehicles sometimes, just don't drop it.
  6. Killer job Frank! If you get a chance, PM me if your paint meter is sitting on a DD towel...I'm interested in those.
  7. Brian, I have them on the RS...he gap between the tire and wheel well is tight, so I'll use some APC if needed, and the large Wheel Woolie. Another good choice would the fender well brush if you have enough room...that plus a pressure washer if you have one available should clean them up nicely. Just rinse them top down and they usually come clean. If you have the wheels of...keep them dry and use a shop vac first...preferably the large 2 1/2" hose to get all the bigger debris out before everything gets soaked, sometimes it make the debris tougher to remove when it's wet and is buried in the fibers. I think Dylan did a write-up on the Alcantra seats.
  8. Yeah, he's pushing another brand for towels and a few other products now...trying to make a litle extra scratch I guess. Nothing wrong with that.
  9. Crazyness. That was a quick 180, from Adam's is the greatest brand ever...to not even using them. I wonder if there's more to the story besides price point. Many other brands are just as expensive, or even higher on many items. I must say though, APC really needs to be concentrated
  10. Crap... Adams 4 Great Whites (Amazing) 22 Singles (Amazing) 4 Doubles 2 Utilities 18 Waterless Wash 2 Glass Cleaning (eeek) Others 20 blues for rinseless (love em) 8 Cobra drying (GW's blow them away) 3 Detailers Domain Drying (love em) 5 or 6 different colored Cobra's (hate them all, use them for wheels and jambs)(China crap) 6 Chemical Guys Shaggy's (China crap) 20 Wally World specials (meh, would rather have all adam's utilities, especially the greys) 20 Terry Cloth for carpets a bunch of other 1zees and 2zees Going off of memory, but I think thats it.
  11. Rinseless wash'd the RS and the Explorer...two gallons of distilled water total.... Thank god rinsless came along when it did...wees 'bout outta watta here
  12. Is this wax good enough to not have to use the more expensive waxes? Yes, of course it is. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone, on a properly polished out car, that can tell what wax was used as the LSP. Maybe, maybe, maybe on black. Buttery is my favorite wax by far...application is fun, it smells good, easy to remove, cheap...longevity, well I really never give it a chance to wear off as I always find myself applying it whenever I feel like it anyway, which is pretty often (although not lately, been extremly busy). What color vehicles do you have?
  13. Boom, it will flatten it out substantially...what could possibly be the benefit in adding WW to one of the best, if not the best, foaming shampoo's on the market?
  14. Depending what you have, they make some good products, and some garbage ones. Obviously keep the brushes if you have any of theirs, they are fantastic for the price....and any of the metal polishes, they are all good.
  15. When Prime was first introduced it was an awesome deal. Do your research on items now...Amazon is no longer the first option on many items, I found Ebay is cheaper in many cases. They have seemed to work their "free shipping" into many of the prices. Now they have the add-on items, and free shipping over $35 gimmick. They still do it, but it's not the by a bunch of little items for cheap, and free shipping like it used to be. Now if the price is going up like Chris said, yikes. Another example of a great company vacating their roots for the almighty dollar...and I don't believe Amazone needs a higher profit margin. It will come back to bite them one day.
  16. Meh, for $2 they can do research and see if it works for themselves. I don't use, haven't and never will however...but just because it's not a "detailing" product at 10x the cost, doesn't mean it won't bring desired results to someone.
  17. No kidding...I've seen much worse. Alot of people are just butthurt that Pledge and WD-40 work for some, and they are $cheap$...I've seen them hide slight defects and add some shine to my buddy's Victory motorcycle (red). I was trying to get him hooked on some Brilliant Glaze last summer, he was having none of it when you the OTC products he was using for years were only a few bucks. If people are happy with the results, wo cares?
  18. Do a search for the RS4 hood liner write-up that I did a while back. I used the little green machine and the carpet upholstery cleaner with a few brushes and a steamer. I would post the link for you, but I'm on my phone and it's a pain in the butt to search.
