Had some time this morning to wash my car with Adam’s new Wash & Wax for a second time… I tried it two weeks ago, and I felt it just did OK. The water didn’t bead as well as I had hoped, and I thought the shine was a bit lackluster. But! I’ve learned never to review something after just one use.

I didn’t put any last stage protection on after last wash or this one, and look at this killer shine! I normally have to put Brilliant Glaze on to get that kind of reflection! And the water beaded off like crazy this time. When I did the pooling rinse, the car was almost bone dry when I was done. Just a few minutes with the leaf blower, and one waffle weave towel was is needed.

As per usual, Adams doesn’t let me down!

Get a 3" backing plate instead. It will accept 4" pads. No need to change the counterweight either.

i said if you (speaking for all and not specifically yourself sir!) need a centering ring, that is ridiculous.  Did not call you ridiculous.

It was nice to have on the last gen as a convennience factor but the new pads are much better in many ways.  100% perfect centering is for rotaries, if you are a mm or two off on an orbital its not a big deal.  Have fun with your new pads!

mattpiper reacted to chops1sc in How to clean & dress your WHOLE sidewall
This is a little tip I came up with (until someone else claims it, lol) for cleaning and dressing the whole sidewall of your tires without having to roll up a few feet to clean and then back again to dress.

I had some 2X4s laying around the shop, so I cut a 45 degree angle on one end and place one in front of each tire.

Untitled by Chris Dunlap, on Flickr

The plank is set in about 1-2" from the top of the sidewall. Then I drive up onto them. I usually get a little bit of a rolling start.
You wont believe how hard it can be to just roll up them LOL! Oh, and don't forget to set your parking brake...

Untitled by Chris Dunlap, on Flickr

Here you can see how they are set back from the sidewall.

Now, I can clean & dress all the way under the tire!

There are still clearly micro scratches in this image, but this piece is only about an inch across, and they are all but invisible in person... I'l still keep working at it, and if I can get a more mirror-like finish, I'll post it. But nothing has come close to creating a shine like this.

And from another set of pipes... The nickel has worn off in places, but that didn't stop the shine from coming through...

The metal polish 1 and 2 should work well.  I used it to polish my sterling silver belt buckle with excellent results.  Here are before, during and after pictures of the back of the buckle (front has too much detail to see any results).

If no gas actually made it onto the interior surfaces then you're only dealing with vapor which should be easy enough to remedy with a little baking soda. Sprinkle lightly onto carpets (when dry) then vacuum back out.

If the cabin filter absorbed that much of the odor though you might have to go more extreme and do an odor bomb. Meguiars has one now that I believe can be found in local stores and has been fairly well reviewed. Its a 2oz aerosol can that you activate, roll up the windows,  close the doors and it fogs the entire interior of your car.

I also own a Dodge Challenger, and I'd say the clear coat is pretty hard. It doesn't readily scratch. I haven't needed to correct my paint in over almost two years after my first correction and proper washing. There are some micro-scratches starting to appear in certain lighting conditions, but that's to be expected even with proper care on a daily driver.

You have to be patient with a PC-7424XP to get any results, and there's a few places I never could get completely swirl-free with the Porter Cable. One of these years I'll upgrade to a Flex.

    Hope that helps.

These are photos of about 9-12 months after the paint correction... With proper washing technique, the hard clear is staying pretty swirl/scratch free.

I always liked that car Matt!

Step up to the MF Cutting pads.  IMO they add "Flex like" power to the PC, thus saving lots of time.  Most times you can finish with PFP & a white foam pad, and you still are only doing 2 correction steps.
And on some finishes you can just do the last movements of the section pass with very light pressure and not have to use the Finishing polish at all.

Rinseless Wash is a life changer for me. I am probably like most and work 50 hours a week, have children and a wife. Who has time to spend 5-7 hours cleaning vehicles every week.
It's hard having 2 large vehicles and the Adam's sickness. I won't lie, a lot of times I would just neglected and not wash at all. That's all changed today, I hit the whole truck in under 1 hour. RW is amazing, I don't have anything bad to say besides not having a measuring label on the bottle to better help control usage.

The lighting would not let me capture the level of dirt, but it's 10 days worth of dessert dust.
The wheelwells cleaned up super easy due to undercarriage spray from the last wash 10 days ago. Surprisingly the tires cleaned up well with a light spray and utility towel.

Love the product. Keep up the good work!

I'm a huge fan of any thing military so this plane was a joy to work on and the customer was a great guy. The last picture is one finished side we did last night.
