Not bad looking, but it's too big. I always liked the S-10 (made locally) because it was a real alternative to a fullsize truck for folks that wanted something smaller. With the Colorado (made locally until GM shut down the plant) I don't see why you wouldn't just buy a Silverado, etc. At least with the former Colorado, it wasn't much cheaper when similarly equipped, and the fuel economy wasn't game-changing. Don't get me wrong, midsize trucks are perfectly adequate for most people's non-commercial use. But again, for the small money difference I can't see passing up the extra power/capability/comfort of a fullsize. Sorry for sounding so negative.

I don't like the idea of a Porsche SUV, though I understand the business case for it. I'm sure it's a fine vehicle, but if I'm in the market for a Porsche I'm thinking sports car, and if I want an SUV I'd look somewhere else.

They look good, and cost less than the tires are worth! Those are 18s aren't they?

Adam's Toys For Tots Detail Clinic! (Louisville, CO)

Somebody make sure RAT clears his schedule for this. -
Regarding Paul's comments about cleaning the engine, I was wondering how we can even be sure there is one under all that plastic! I remember once upon a time you had to cut a hole in your hood to fit a supercharger, now here's a small(ish) car with a Roots-style blower you can't even see when you pop the hood! Mook, I'm curious about using metal polish on those wheels. I always treat polished metal like paint if it has a clearcoat. Is the metal polish still the best option here?

Are you going to the SEMA show? You probably won't be able to see everything in two days. Even if you don't have passes to get in, there is enough coolness outside of the convention center to occupy most of a day.

That should make it a little easier to clean the bits of rubber from the rear fenders...

Complete From the Studio: Corvette Stingray C7 Lime Rock Green
Redbeard replied to THE Mook's topic in Detailing Write-Ups
I had no idea this was a regular color option; I hadn't seen it in any of the press so far. The metallic really pops out in the sun.- 28 replies

Very nice! As if the Typhoon isn't rare enough as it is, you're not gonna see another green one any time soon.

Carnauba over Super Sealant
Redbeard replied to Sixgun95's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Super Sealant works fine as a top layer, but yes Americana or Buttery wax on top of it will add even more gloss/depth. Also, the wax will not affect the sealant's function. -

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law's condition. It looks like he's taken good care of the Mustang, so maintaining it should be pretty easy. Give it the 2 step polish followed by Brilliant Glaze and Americana wax. Assuming it spends most of its time in a garage, other than the occasional wash, you should just need to touch it up with Waterless Wash and Detail Spray. Of course, Adam's has you covered inside and out, so check out the videos for interior and trim detailing as well.

2005 Corvette Convertible Paint Correction

Nice rescue! Did the owner accuse you of repainting it? Also, thanks for reminding me I need a foam gun.
