  1. I have really only had items come FedEx Smartpost thru Adams. I thought people on here were crazy about how long it took to get stuff. It isn't the post office, it is FedEx and how they handle the stuff before they pass it to the post office. It really should only add (1) day to the delivery time, not multiple. Your package should make it to the local FedEx facility and then be passed to your local post office for delivery the following day. I have ordered multiple items that have come UPS Surepost (Amazon) and they are always (1) or sometimes if I have another package coming regular UPS it is delivered that day too, along with my regular package. Or if the neighbor is getting a delivery, I will get my surepost package.
  2. With that many miles in a week, where do you find the time to make repairs?
  3. Are they going to help you keep it clean?
  4. I don't have a spa, but I do use VRT on my cover for my air conditioner that is exposed to the crappy winter weather, and it still looks new.
  5. Have you tried loosening or playing the with nut on top? I have one and have found that to be my issue on occasion. One time I thought it was toast though and I was able to fix it. They are bomb proof really. The one you linked looks great too.
  6. Just out of curiosity being that you work at an Audi dealership, how many come in for electrical problems?
  7. Went and saw this today with the wife. We never pass one up unless we have already seen it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nN3RqF_1qSY If you have never seen one before they are well worth seeing.
  8. Shouldn't be a problem at all getting the battery terminals wet. Relays are always covered in a plastic housing similar to the one between the battery and firewall. Using a hose without a high pressure nozzle and no pressure washer shouldn't cause any issues. I guess if your concerned you can always call a dealership you trust. My mother in law has a hybrid and I was concerned about cleaning the engine bay and was told there was zero issues with doing so.
  9. Looks good, but I guess I'm not seeing why you couldn't just use a hose on it. Made that LV to LA trip a couple weeks ago.
  10. If you tint your drywall compound stick with the blue. Do not use the red. The red stains. There is a reason, why they use the red on concrete. I don't tint mine, but I know some do. In reference to sanding and it clogging up the sand paper, a wire brush, (not a heavy duty one) or an abrasive cleaning stick will help. I would think problem would be dependent on how new the paint is. http://www.homedepot.com/p/POWERTEC-8-1-2-in-Abrasive-Cleaning-Stick-71002/207210872
  11. If that were mine to deal with, this is what I would do. I would find the biggest belt sander I could get my hands on. I would start at 100 grit and determine how it works and if I needed more or less grit. It is going to be dusty. I buy the mud in the buckets. I would then add some Palmolive dish soap to the mud and mix it in with my drill. I usually squirt some across the top and mix down about 10 inches. I would then get my hands on a 14 inch mud pan and trowel and spread it out. Sand it down to where it looks decent. Then in the dark, take a pencil, a flash light and a sanding sponge. Hold the flash light flat up against the wall with the light shining up and circle all your low points that need more mud and sand your high spots. Your imperfections will jump out at you. Repeat the process until your happy. The dish soap thing sounds weird, but it works. It spreads easier and lessens the chances of getting bubbles in your tape. When I went to tackle mudding all the drywall in my basement (2k sq. ft.) I asked a guy doing some sheetrock in a house if he had any tricks. He was specific about Palmolive. I thought it sounded weird, but a couple days later in another house, I saw some others doing mudding and taping and they had their dish soap too. The driveways in these houses cost more than most of our houses, no joke. You may or may not know this, but when you go to paint it you will need to primer it. Not a contractor, but I did build my own house. Sub'd some things to speed things along. When it came time to finish the basement, I did it all except for laying the carpet. My walls turned out perfect.
  12. When you can't fold it anymore and make the clay clean. If that makes sense. The number of vehicles you can get out of a bar are dependent on the size of the vehicle and how bad they were.
  13. Changed the oil and rotated the tires on my DD. While I was at it, I changed the brake fluid too.
  14. Does the Amsoil product you used come in anything more than a rattle can that you know of? I did a search and found nothing. Just thought it would be easier to buy it by like a gallon paint pale for example and use a sprayer on an air compressor.
  15. Went and saw this today. There were 5 shuttles built that flew into space. Challenger and Columbia were both lost, leaving Discovery, Atlantis, and Endeavour. I have seen all three now.
  16. If you're comparing "prime" to Amazon type prime for free shipping, Adams doesn't do a drop in the bucket in comparison to what Amazon does. Amazon does such huge volumes and gets huge shipping discounts from all carriers. I personally have no issues with shipping prices. It is the cost of doing business. I remember buying a spring that was about the size of an eraser on a pencil. The item was something like $2 and I paid something like $8 for shipping. It could have very well fit in a first class envelope with a forever stamp. Free shipping isn't free. It is being recouped some where otherwise places that offer it wouldn't stay in business.
  17. Days like today make me want spring to hurry up. I was finally able to wash a vehicle with a hose. It has been about 3 months since that happened. It was therapeutic too. Washed the truck and my DD. Now all 3 are clean. My wife's car got a rinseless wash a couple weeks ago and hasn't left the garage. She finally caught on to me telling her to drive one or the other during bad weather days. I hated having to clean both of them every week. On top of my DD.
  18. I understand that. But the exterior of anything is exposed to a whole lot more elements than anything on the interior. Seems a bit extreme to say the interior is exposed to food and drinks, thus requiring a "coating". Seems like a waste of product in an interior application to me. Interior cleaner and Leather Conditioner with SPF 65 does well to protect from the sun. Each to their own.
  19. Just curious as to why? Your interior isn't exposed to the elements like the exterior.
  20. That is pretty cool. Just curious as to the story behind how they found you and your Biscayne?
  21. https://www.amazon.com/Franke-Inox-Creme/dp/B00KKUPNFW/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1486042367&sr=8-1&keywords=franke+inox+cream+stainless+steel+sink+cleaner
  22. Some may associate their headlights needing to be cleaned up by the cloudy look. Mine on my DD aren't cloudy looking, but the clear coat is obviously failing on the headlamps. If you have this happening it will look a lot like what it does when it fails on paint.
  23. You could probably get away with just buying the "Diamond Finish" product. I didn't find the "Klean" really necessary. The salesperson that sold me the stuff told me to sand off all of the old finish on the headlights with 1200 grit. Then go over it with 1500 grit, then apply the clear coat. I too would say there is more than enough to do 4 headlights as is advertised in the link I posted. There is also a video in the link if you scroll down.
