  1. Spent the weekend de badging the master bathroom. Tearing out tile has made me hate it. Floor was done with metal lathe and skim coated for tile. That was a pain to remove. Cement board in the shower was pain to remove too. It isn't easy like sheet rock. It has a fiber mesh that binds everything together. Had to use a demolition hammer and run it down both sides of the studs and then pull it out. I did manage to get the mirror off the wall without breaking it. Hopefully I will be able to put some of it back together next weekend. Wife needs to figure out what she wants for her shower. I have no say, I just destroy it and put it back together. She picks the color and finish. New shower and around the tub will be finished by the link below. I will re sheetrock and prep everything. https://www.whitewaterinc.com
  2. Congratulations Sir! You do a great job!
  3. mc2hill is a super individual that would do anything to help a fellow forum member out. Hopefully someone is able to help him out! If I were in the area I would feel comfortable making everything I had available to him without hesitation, including my home. You will make a friend for life too!
  4. Third straight weekend of staining cabinets. One more weekend and should have this part of the renovation project wrapped up. Then it will be gutting and redoing the master bathroom. Not sure what the weird purple color is on the one cabinet. It isn't there physically.
  5. Congratulations on the new tool! I have the long neck and enjoy it and find it to be very useful for those confined spaces. Or when some turkey parks right next to you and decides to share their paint.
  6. Have no clue why the picture went so big. Since the forum changed a while back it created a learning curve that I had no interest in trying to figure out. Maybe someone can tell me why it went so big. I did nothing different than I had in the past when uploading a pic.
  7. Been away from the Forum for some time. Just been busy with all kinds of stuff. My latest project is redoing the whole upstairs of my house. Sanded down all my cabinets and am staining them. Maple is super hard to stain. Will be replacing all the flooring with the laminate in the picture. Will be gutting and re doing the master bathroom and replacing the front and back doors. Picture below is of a cabinet door and the floor the wife picked.
  8. I had the front end, head lights, hood front, and backside of mirrors done back in October on a car I purchased and it cost me about $1,000. I think the product is well worth it. I had a Tundra that I had the same product installed back in 2004 and it never yellowed. I had the truck for 7 years with the product. If I recall I paid roughly the same price. Both vehicles had the 3M product. The truck actually had a big gash that tore through the film on the hood and left a dent. But zero paint damage. Had a PDR guy remove the dent, and new film applied. I would have to look at my current vehicle, but I know that on my truck the headlights had a thicker film applied to them.
  9. You can either have it fast or cheap, but you can't have it fast and cheap. Shipping like everything else in life has gone up. Look at the price of a new car. And personally I don't think they are built like they used to be. Look at the cost of a stamp. I remember when I started mailing things it was 10 cents to mail a first class letter, now it is 49 cents. Some may remember when it was cheaper than 10 cents. I remember doing some drywall and halfway thru my project the price went up and bucket size went from a 5 gallon bucket to 4.5 gallons. I'm sure there are lots of other examples out there. Personally I have no issues with Adams shipping costs, it is the cost of doing business. Wages and energy commodities have gone up too. Probably the craziest price I have ever paid for shipping (non Adams) was a for a spring that cost $2. The shipping for that spring that was about 1/8 inch long was $8. It could have fit in a first class envelope easily. It showed up in a box that was roughly a 4x4x4. The other thing to remember is shipping rates are computer generated averages. There are way too many variables for any company to exactly calculate shipping costs on every product combination that they may sell. They may profit from some and loose on others.
  10. I have 4 GSD and have never had a problem removing dog hair. I use an attachment similar to the one in the link, minus the light. Hold it to a 45 degree angle to the carpet and sweep it side to side (left to right). Works every time. http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-1-7-8-in-LED-Lighted-Car-Nozzle-Accessory-for-Select-RIDGID-Wet-Dry-Vacs-VT1739/204960486
  11. Helped the neighbor clean and condition their interior. Super easy when you have the right products.

    Eclipse?

Kinda went thru what I got, and saw this one.

    Eclipse?

With digging into it some more, it looks like 4:30 of totality will be out in the ocean. 2:30 on the coast of Chile. Still may go. It is one of those things that pictures just don't do it justice. It is something you have to experience in person. The best way I can describe it is when I took my wife to see the Grand Canyon she was in aww, and mentioned that pictures just don't do it justice.

    Eclipse?

Here are a couple of pictures. I just took them off of my computer screen, so they may look odd. First picture is of totality, notice Bailty's Beads if you zoom in. I have several pictures of the whole thing, I just picked a couple to share. Second picture is of the landscape at about the halfway point. Third picture shows how dark it got. The second and third pictures where taken from a video that I shot with my GoPro. I just put it on a log and hit record. That sunset you see was 360 degrees around us.

    Eclipse?

It was cool enough that now my brother is trying to get me to go with him to Chile in 2019 for 4:30 of totality on my birthday no less. Now to get the wife's OK.

    Eclipse?

My brother and I made a trip north to see it at 100%. We left early Saturday morning and found a place in the mountains. Approximately 15 miles off center. It was an amazing experience to see in person. Seeing Baily's Beads, the diamond rings, a 360 degree sunset, see everything go dark, and to physically feel the huge temperature drop. It was amazing, and well worth the trip. I will post up a picture or two when I go thru them. I purchased a special filter for my camera so that I could photograph the sun.
  19. Your in Colorado, I can tell you what is next. Pollen from the corner dispensary, or those coming and going from the establishment. To the OP, I also saw that in the news.
  20. I'm sure they do, it would however have to go USPS only.
  21. Just out of curiosity, could it be pollen? I guess I have never noticed fly poop on a vehicle.
  22. I had to do a double take to see if Rich finally had a machine.
  23. A few years back my family and I went to Washington DC. We rode the train in and left our car at the hotel we were staying at. Glad we did.
  24. Finished packing my bags to go hang out with hero's and legends for the rest of the week. Excited for the opportunity and the experience of volunteering too.
  25. Congratulations young man. From what I can tell my bet would be that you will be a much more responsible driver than those other high school kids. I spend time around a high school everyday at work, and I can honestly say in the thirteen years that I have done so I have only see one individual that wasn't an idiot. Didn't matter how often I saw him driving, he was responsible. I even told his parents that he was a responsible, courteous driver.
