  1. I recommend wash, dry, and detail spray most of the time (e.g., weekly); along with wash and layering HGG periodically (e.g., monthly). With that regimen, there's little need for Buttery Wax, but you can apply it if/when you WANT to.
  2. It was a good day (for most) at the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack, held at the Colorado Springs Airport that sits at over 6000ft of elevation. There were a lot of great runs by a wide variety of cars but, Lamborghinis and GT-Rs ruled the day. A number of them repeatedly exceeded 200 MPH, but the day's 225MPH record was set by OB Prestige Auto's 2000HP Lamborghini TT. One of the Supras blew its engine, while one of the GT-Rs ended up with what looked like an exhaust fire that damaged the car's rear-end. Three of us from the local Shelby Club raced in the PRO AM (i.e., no formal time slips) lanes. (We relied on GPS for speed readings.) I made 8 passes throughout the day, with trap speeds ranging from 152MPH to 160MPH. My friend with a 2011 GT500 made ~6 passes, with trap speeds ranging from 141MPH to 159MPH. My other friend with a 2014 Super Snake also made ~6 passes, but was unable to beat his 167MPH performance at last year's event. Unsurprisingly, heat dissipation and traction were the biggest problems we encountered. Here are a few still photos... EDIT: My son shot a few videos with his phone... Here's a copy of my final, and second fastest, run of the day.
  3. A lot of Adam's products were used by Colorado Shelby Breakfast Club and Colorado Car Addicts members at yesterday's Vintage Car Club of Castle Rock 2015 Cruise-In Car Show.
  4. Chris is correct that cleaning, polishing, sealing, etc is easier without badges. (If only I could find a quick and easy way to remove and replace my matte vinyl stripes...) I agree with Michael, however, that debadged vehicles look like they're missing something, I, therefore, recommend leaving the badges alone. In the end, it's your truck. You should do with it whatever makes you happy.
  5. One of the advantages of living so close to Adam's HQ - the order I placed late on Wednesday night arrived today. Gotta love next day shipping! Thanks, Adam's! Now, if it would just stop raining...
  6. The Shine Doc has you covered with everything you need to know about Caring for Factory Vinyl Stripes.
  7. I'm not aware of anything that will correct as quickly and easily as a machine. Get a Porter Cable for ~$150. They're great entry-level units that are EASY to use and provide excellent results.
  8. Very nice! Congrats and welcome to the SVT family, Dylan!
  9. The Shine Doc has you covered... http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/13404-caring-for-factory-vinyl-stripes/
  10. The 18 Apr Clinic is CANCELED due to inclement weather. Thanks to Adam for graciously inviting us to join the 25 Apr Open House & Spring Detail Clinic!
  11. Thanks for the clarification, Travis. (I had the same thought RB did.) GLWS! +1. Not fond of the baby blue either.
  12. It was great to have six Shelbys there and staged together... Congrats to kpinco on the Peoples' Choice Award his 2013 Deep Impact Blue GT500 earned!
  13. My Americana brick came right out, so applying it to the machine pad is easy. The new Patriot tins are designed differently, and don't lend themselves to easy brick removal.
  14. T - 2 weeks. Please RSVP in this thread or via email. We look forward to seeing you there!
  15. I apologize for the late notice, but I just learned about an informal car show on the Air Force Academy next weekend, 4 Apr. Most details are in the attached Registration Form. (As I understand it, location is the USAFA Prep School, 5220 Cedar Drive, USAF Academy, 80840.) I have no idea how big or small it will be, but it's an excuse to put the hood up and talk cars... Open to all DoD ID card holders. USAFA Spring Carnival Car Show.pdf
  16. T - 1 month. Please RSVP in this thread or via email. We look forward to seeing you there!
  17. +1 for Rodney Strong. Good stuff!
  18. Happy to share the pics with fellow enthusiasts! Regrettably, no. We did, however, get to sit in and start the brand new yellow Shelby GT pictured here. We also got some up-close time with a Shelby 1000. Unfortunately, we didn't spend much time in it. The brief jaunt we took prior to loading it up for the trip home was, however, a blast!
  19. Had a great time at Shelby American on Friday, 6 Mar, to attend part of Shelby Vegas Bash 2015 and pickup a friend's Super Snake. (I appreciated him letting me tag along.) Really enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour from Shelby staff members Ralph Hengelhaupt and Tim Pittsenbarger. There was no shortage of great cars or horsepower!
  20. +1. We're not usually big Pinot Noir drinkers, but we tried Meiomi's at a recent wine tasting event and really enjoyed it.
  21. +1 for Silver Oak. They're not cheap, but they're among our favorite Cabs. Seghesio makes great Zinfandel. Chalk Hill, Matanzas Creek, and Kendall Jackson make great (dry, oaked) Chardonnays. Iron Horse, Gloria Ferrer, and Korbel are good for (dry) Champagne.
