  1. +1. I've been very pleased with both the Yamaha receivers I've owned over the past 15+ years. I had a Yamaha RX-V995 for 12+ years. It still worked well when I sold it about three years ago so I could upgrade to the RX-V2065. My biggest reason for doing so was to get HDMI switching, but the 2065 also offers network connectivity options the 995 didn't have. Look at the bright side, MAYBEN... Failure of any old electronic component is an opportunity to UPGRADE.
  2. Single- or Double-Soft Microfiber with Detail Spray or Glass Cleaner work great. Glass Towels seem a little harsh for the instrument cluster, so I don't use them there. (They're great on glass, though.)
  3. Mentioned, at least tangentially, here.
  4. I've owned all three styles, starting out with an '89 LX 5.0, migrating to a '97 Cobra, and finally upgrading to a '13 Shelby. (All three were black, making me a real sucker for punishment!) I thoroughly enjoyed all of them, but the Shelby is definitely my favorite. I read a review somewhere that said, in the latest GT500, Ford/SVT had "perfected" the Mustang. I know I'm biased, but I agree.
  5. You are correct on all counts. The supercharged 5.8L Trinity engine (which is amazing) won't be in available in the Mustang beyond the 2014 MY. There are a number of reasons speculated for this including CAFE standards and projected dimensions of the 2015 Mustang. CAFE standards are making it harder and harder for automakers to produce engines like the Trinity, which won't fit between the 2015 Mustang's strut towers. What isn't clear is whether Ford will continue producing the engine for aftermarket builders or, perhaps, a variant of it for use in other vehicles like trucks/SUVs.
  6. No GT500 version is forecast beyond the 2014 MY. x2. I'm not fond of what I've seen so far, but want to see it in-person. In the meantime, I remain very happy I took the plunge on a 2013 GT500.
  7. The key is to always buff with CLEAN microfiber. You can, therefore, NEVER have too much microfiber. (I use ~2 towels for EACH of the sealing and waxing processes.) When it comes to microfiber, buy early and buy often! Both are soft and usable on two sides. The double-softs are simply twice as thick and plush.
  8. Welcome, Marcus! Apologies for the re-post, but here's what I did with my new Shelby (despite the fact that I took delivery immediately)... 1. Strip wash using a Car Wash Pad with Shampoo and APC 2. Dry with a Great White Towel (and DS as required) 3. Dress all plastic/rubber moldings, trim, and stripes with SVRT 4. Clay entire car using DS as a lubricant 5. Polish with FMP (recently replaced by Paint Finishing Polish) and White Pad on my PC7424XP 6. IPA wipedown with SS Microfiber 7. MSS (recently replaced by Liquid Paint Sealant) and Gray Pad on my PC 8. BG and Red Pad on my PC 9. Americana (one of two carnuba waxes I use) and Gray Pad on my PC If a machine polisher isn't in the budget, you might give Revive Fine Hand Polish on a Blue Pad a try, along with QS. (Some form of sealant will, however, provide the most durable protection for your paint.) Everything else I recommended can be applied by hand.
  9. Agreed! This stuff works well and smells great. At every car show I did last summer, countless people stuck their heads in the car to take in the "new leather smell". Ordered a gallon earlier today...
  10. +1. I wish that metallic black paint had been an option when I bought my GT500.
  11. Welcome and congratulations on your (soon-to-be) new car! Detailing in the winter presents some special challenges. I'm afraid I don't see many options unless the weather cooperates (at least briefly) or you have (at least temporary) access to a climate-controlled garage. Assuming at least one of those things happens, this is what I did to my new GT500... 1. Strip wash using a Car Wash Pad with Shampoo and APC 2. Dry with a Great White Towel (and DS as required) 3. Dress all plastic/rubber moldings, trim, and stripes with SVRT 4. Clay entire car using DS as a lubricant 5. Polish with FMP and White Pad on my PC7424XP 6. IPA wipedown with SS Microfiber 7. MSS and Gray Pad on my PC 8.
  12. I reserve final judgement for when it's officially unveiled but, based on what I've seen so far, I'm not a fan. Glad I bought my '13 when I did. Very happy with both its lines and the 5.8L Trinity power plant...
