musclejunkie
As the sky turns grey and the winds start howling in Michigan to rid the trees of their last pretty leaf, I am becomming depressed that for the next 9 months, it will be a challenge to keep my car clean and a challenge to keep cabin fever at bay. We live in a pancake state with no Mountains or hills to play on, just pancake fields that offer no resistance to constant drifting snow that we must drive through with our Adamized rides. I'm going to try a new trick and haul out the leaf blower to clear the driveway this year in lieu of the shovel. We'll see how that works out. I also need a snow and ice melt "system" for the sloping driveway, so that I can wash my car below 32* without creating a bobsled track in the process. dipolley
Rick that just isn't funny. (ok yes it is). Here in Denver we are under a winter storm warming and could get up to a foot of snow tonight. And it was 80 degrees yesterday.

First weekend in November is usually when I do a full detail since it's cool enough out that the my American isn't liquid while sitting in the garage. Cygnus
On the minus side, we don't get to play with cool toys like the cross bow snow launcher, Crossbow Snow Launcher. That looks like it could be a big of fun.

It's been in the 70's here lately, so I can detail with out becoming a heat casualty, LOL! Just in time too, I need to do the Tundra, and that thing is massive! Marylander
I love the change of seasons and winters. In fact, I'd go psychotic living in the 365 day a year sameness of a place like Florida.

Suuure Rich, keep deluding yourself with that. Hope that thought keeps you warm while shoveling snow this winter. I'll send some pics of me BBQing and sitting by the pool in February. luvmyride
Only upside to Winter is no yard work! With the spare time I will heat up the garage and do some polishing on my car. Before this finding this forum, I thought clean and waxed meant done. My paint would have been fine as is. Now the swirl marks really bug me. That doesn't bother me at all. It is a little backwards that we look forward to winter so we can do stuff. haha. Now what does bother me is that the state is flatter than Kate Moss. It's so boring at times, but then I love the mountains and being that I'm into photography, biking and hunting/shooting I would really like to have some decent bumps. Yea, actually I think the flatness is what would really kill me about FL. I once drove my Vette to Florida and i felt so bad for all you sports car guys that live down there... no windy roads to enjoy! Just 90 degree turn after 90 degree turn... Golf for Life
Winter is already rearing it's ugly head here in Illinois. Grey skies windy but no snow yet. Already missing the 90's +++. But it will be April before we know it. There is nothing cool about winter in the northern states.

Poor jeep you need to buy a beater for winter. Not that I need it for winter, but I think I'm finally going to replace mine with another Jeep (Wrangler this time) next year. If I didn't spend so much on house stuff in the last few months I'd buy it sooner. haha.
DieselDude
you need to buy a beater for winter. Rick is right....Get a beater for the winter. I have a beater for the winter and it has nice snow tires on it for the winter weather.
rha600
If you get something like I have (not sure how much snow you all really get up there in Michigan) you can probably find a decent civic for $3K with under 100K miles on it. Mine has 85K and the last time it was in getting it's oil changes and other regular maint stuff, the guy said it's in amazing shape. I know many people that have had civics run for 200K and more. Plus you'll have something that gets great mpg if you want to offset that 11mpg the Jeep gets.
