If your insurance is paying for a new windshield you can get a new OEM one.  I wouldn't settle for an aftermarket one.  Just have it replaced by the dealer body shop, they're no doubt an approved shop from your insurance.

Hot_Wheel reacted to Team Adam's in 4 Grit Guards in 2BM Wash?
Theres no right or wrong really in this discussion... the best thing to do would be to test it out for yourself and see what you think. I catch flack from some 'professional' detailers for using a 3rd bucket and grit guard (see below) but its a process that works for me.

Personally I found that my 'soap' bucket was still getting some grit in it towards the end of the wash, even with using 2-3 wash pads and solid process. I actually started doing this when I owned my black on black on black avalanche. It proved more effective at preventing swirls.

So the moral of the story is, don't worry too much about what others are saying - if it makes sense to you try it, test it, evaluate it, and see if it makes any difference.

Let me first start out by saying I am super pleased with each of the Adam's products I have used.

    Now on to my experiences.

First time calling Matt took my call. I told him what I was looking to do and what I wanted. We discussed my budget and went from there. Once he figured out I lived only 20-30 mins from the HQ he said just come on in. When I arrived he had everything already set to the side. We then went back into the warehouse area. Let me tell you this. They have a smooth operation going on back there. Matt definitely squared me away. I went away a HAPPY camper to say the least.

Got a little extra monies from the boss (wife). I called Matt and he told me to stop on by again. So we did the same thing. Fitted what I could with in my budget.

As we were walking about to my car in comes the man himself Adam!

I have never met such a humble business owner. I got to meet his daughter, and I had my 3 yr old son with me. We chit chatted for a few and he asked me what my goals were with his products. So I told him what I wanted to do. Piece by piece is how I am going to tackle everything I wanted lol.

Adam had asked me if I had gotten to try waterless wash. I wasn't able to fit that in my budget I said. He told me to walk with him so we all did still talking. He then grabbed me a bottle of waterless wash and some WW towels!! He told me to try this out. I couldn't have thanked him enough.

So he showed around to where all the kids toys and stuff were at. Kids played for a few, but I had to get going. My little guy was getting cranky.

Every time I have visited the HQ, I have always have the best experience. It helps that the products are top notch!.

Thanks again Matt for all your help each time I visit!

    Jason

    My uses for WW:

    - Immediately after arriving at a car show to safely remove whatever got onto the car during the drive. DS will come afterwards when the paint is clean and dirt-free.

    - Wiping down door/trunk/hood jambs before washing the car, so when water flows through it isn't bringing that dirty water out onto the paint.

    - Drying agent. Many people use DS here but I prefer WW as it helps get rid of stubborn spots that did not come off with the regular wash.

    - Pre-wax cleaner. After polishing a panel I will use WW to wipe down the panel before applying wax or sealant so there is no polish residue left behind. Other people will use IPA but I feel this is safer (and more pleasantly-smelling). I also use is to clean up wheels and exhaust tips before putting QS on them.

I've had mixed results using WW as a wash bucket additive and I can't pinpoint the cause. It adds lubricity but sometimes it will mute the suds created by the shampoo.

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you enjoy the joke.

An elderly husband and wife visit their doctor when they begin forgetting little things. Their doctor tells them that many people find it useful to write themselves little notes.

When they get home, the wife says, "Dear, will you please go to the kitchen and get me a dish of ice cream? And maybe write that down so you won't forget?"

"Nonsense," says the husband, "I can remember a dish of ice cream."

"Well," says the wife, "I'd also like some strawberries and whipped cream on it."

"My memory's not all that bad," says the husband. "No problem -- a dish of ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream. I don't need to write it down."

He goes into the kitchen; his wife hears pots and pans banging around. The husband finally emerges from the kitchen and presents his wife with a plate of bacon and eggs.

She looks at the plate and asks, "Hey, where's the toast I asked for?"

Thanks for all the compliments guys. Now I can just copy/paste when that question comes up... which it does about a dozen times a day

That TV just made its move to the garage... its about 6 years old and used to occupy a wall in my master bedroom. Got a new flat panel downstairs so the current main TV moved to the bedroom... this 42" plasma didn't have a home anymore so it was either my office or my garage. Figured I could put it in the garage and use it to watch baseball games while I detail on weekends or put on a music channel if nothing else. Still gotta run a fresh rg6 line to it and buy another directv box.

What self respecting man wouldn't jump on the chance to put a TV in the garage before his wife had a chance to veto the idea?

Discontinued... they were expensive to make and a lot of people felt they were priced too high.

Also, they were never really designed to handle the weight of polishers inside... weakens the seams.

We're very much the opposite of that... we change all the time.

Just recently, Detail Spray and all new polishes. Before that BG and VRT were redone.

    We're always looking to improve.

Buttery I believe is the last product standing from the early days.

Car Wash Shampoo is the same as its ever been.

Machine Super Sealant came in around 2006 and hasn't been updated ever.

APC and GWC are both in their original formulations.

Americana (other than a scent change after the first production run) hasn't changed.

Revive changed colors some years back, wasn't total formula change though.

    Great!

I have tried it already, 1:1 diluted and it turned out great. Though not as slick it was doable for drying. But for quick detailing, I will stick with full strength.
