    My client wants to 'freshen up' his 1918 White Model 15 truck for possible sale.  We are just tackling a few items at a time, as this is a biiig truck!
     

     
    This day we just did the hood (top and sides) and the radiator.
    A shot after spraying it down with Waterless Wash.  (this shot was tweaked with a photo editor)

     
     
    I started with the hood sides:

     
    I found it easier to work on them when the sides were horizontal.  I protected the window and frame with a work MF

     
    And supported it on the marker light with another work MF

     
    Since this had all the louvers I just hand polished it with Revive and a foam applicator.
     
    Next I taped off the pinstripes and the center hinge, and covered the brass radiator and frame rails.  Much easier to take a few minutes to protect things than have to clean polish off them later!

     
    Once it was clean I could see it was not too bad, but it did have some stains from hot water from a day out a few months ago.  (The cooling system has been repaired since then.)
    Before

    After

    I used PCP on a orange 4" Focus pad for the correction (2 passes).  If you look at the Waterless Wash shot you can see it has a big concave section, so 7" or 5.5" pads could not get flush on the surface.  
    The hood still had a few slight scratches and faint water spots, but without a paint thickness gauge this was all the correction I was comfortable with.
    I followed that up with PFP on a 5.5" finishing pad and applied a coat of Americana.
     
    Then we hit the radiator with MP #1 & #2, and applied QS for protection.
     
     
     
     
    I will update this thread as we continue working on this piece of history.

    I had a similar problem doing decon on a white car and ended up using the 50/50 decon spray as a clay lube while I clayed. I got great results with that method.
    basically instead of agitating with a mitt, I used a clay bar... which now smells horrible but it got the job done. haha

    Washed and HGG on my girlfriends Expedition. Then interior detailer the inside.
    Showed her how easy it cleaned up something our 4 year old had gotten on the door panel. Her response was "Looks like you better get a lot more of that so you can clean up after him."
    I'll be ordering a gallon on my next order.

    Went and did a one day adventure by myself.  Was a lot of fun.  When I got to the top according to my gps I was at 11,304 feet.  Was a lot of work but rewarding.

    Speaking about weight, I have recently gone from 389 to 315sh (6ft tall) in the last year and a half. I, too, sweat more than the average human. I always carry a "sweat rag" in my pocket whether I'm cutting grass or detailing the cars. I absolutely HATE summertime, LOL! But, making myself go out and do yard work or working in the shop along with detailing helps me stay active and has helped keep the weight off. Having a pair of bad knees and 2 deteriorating discs doesn't help my cause, but I find If I sit around on the weekends I can;t hardly move come Monday. I have a long way to go to get to my goal of 250, but as long as I stay active I am happy.

    First time I've been to this cruise and they parked me next to the Waterless Car Wash guy. While he was demo'ing, gave mine a Rinseless Wash wipe down, while proudly displaying what I was using.
     
    Just my opinion, but my Camaro shines infinitely better!

    After the wash do the 'baggie' test, that will let you if it needs claying again.  
     
    Place your hand in thin plastic bag and feel the surface - smooth?  move to the next step - rough?  get busy with the clay!

    So a friend of mine was kind enough to let me borrow his 2004 'Vette to take my wife out for her birthday. He's trying to sell it and wants me to buy it but I really prefer my 2010 Camaro (but that's another story). We had a great time tooling around town in it for the day.
     
    To repay him I decided to give it a wash before returning it to him this morning.  It's a beautiful car (black, of course) but the paint is a MESS (I swear it has some water spots on it that came home from the dealer 10 years ago). It's in serious need of an 8 hour polishing session but I just gave it a two hour touch-up.  The water beaded up on this thing like it was a Sherman tank with original paint.
     
    2 bucket wash w/ foam gun
    H2O G&G
    sVRT under hood
    Leather Conditioner on seats
    Interior Detailer rest of interior
    Glass Cleaner inside and out
    Detail Spray wipe
    Tire Shine
     
    Nowhere near perfect (I swear he must wash this thing with Bounty Paper Towels - the Quicker Picker Upper) but it looks 100 times better than it did when I picked it up.
     
     
    I took it back to his house and he saw it coming down the driveway - I could tell he was impressed. When I got out he gave a low whistle and stuck his head inside.
     
    He said, "Wow!  This looks GREAT!  What did you use in here?  Armor All?"
