I actually have a tip for this,

Don't wash your car in pants with rivets unless they are completely covered.  Learned this many cars ago... SCREW YOU LEVIS!

I can't...what?...that's gotta be awful.  That's as bad as the guy that had angry bees in his car.  Really impressive that the odor eliminator fixed that.  That must have been a huge relief.

Thought I'd share a habit of mine that y'all may appreciate / laugh at. I have a blue 2016 Vette that I lovingly care for, but drive every day. This means sometimes it gets, brace yourselves, rained upon   well, I bought a master blaster earlier in the year and one time after driving the car home in the rain looked at the master blaster on the wall, and back at my wet car sitting in the garage and had a thought.  Couldn't I just blow all that nasty rain water off? I mean it is ceramic coated so the rain and road dirt has been just sheeting off anyway. Well, yep sure can, and it works pretty darn well... assuming it was raining steadily. Blows all that dirty rain water right off.  Lots of folks ask about the effectiveness of the paint coating and the usefulness of the master blaster. For me this exemplifies both.

I use the Husky tool chests from home depot like those in shane@detailedreflections' post.  Looks very similar in that I put all the 'liquid' items laying flat in a large drawer.  The 'paste' items I keep in the house as the garage isn't climate controlled and I'm in Texas.

It's all in that cabinet on the right.. with gallon jugs in the large drawers at the bottom.  Otherwise looks like Shane's post above.

Yeah, that's pretty true from my experience too.  Which made me laugh the first time I sprayed the car down after applying the ceramic coating kit.  "why isn't this?...what's wrong with my.... OH! cool."

it still stuck around enough to be useful, just didn't turn my car into a white puffball.  Good news is that dirt doesn't stick very well either.

You just asked for a ton of information to say the least.  The Adam's coating is similar to any other nano coating.  The coatings are what creates the super hydrophobic effect on your paint as well as providing protection.

Let's clear something up though, no ceramic coating (I don't care what they claim) is indestructible.  It can, and will get scratched.  That being said, it is harder to damage than the clear coat on your vehicle.  Being that it it's a thin coating, it will wear off with time.  There are contaminants all around in the environment and they are abrasive.  Adam's coatings I believe claim 12-24 months of durability.  If you take care of it, it will last all of that and then some.  If you neglect it, it won't even last that long.

You won't want to use a polish on your car after it's coated.  Polishes are abrasive and doing so they will remove the coating.  Instead of waxing the coating, you'll occasionally use ceramic boost as a top agent.  This will help maintain the hydrophobic effect and protect the coating.

The biggest thing to stress is that the outcome of a coating lies largely in the prep.  Everything must be clean and polished to your satisfaction before you apply the coating.  Once the coating is on, it locks in anything that's there.  As a frame of reference, we always plan two days to do a coating.  We can get it polished and installed in a day (with two of us working on it), but it needs time to cure for final inspection and also to allow us more time for polishing before hand.  The coating process itself is pretty quick once you get it down.  The prep though, is where your time is spent.

Then again, as great as it is, I don't think Adam's could've put much of a dent into the damage that deer did.

P.S. No, I don't see bees hanging around much when I use it. But bugs in general really seem to like my (white) car a lot more when clean.

Could probably use the rinseless method if you sprayed a fair amount on it. I have done rinseless after pulling into the garage after rain caught me. Of course I got laughed at by the rest of the folks in the house. But THEY DONT KNOW!!! They just don't know.

Well, a lot of absolutes in there mixed with pragmatic sounding words.  I really can't argue his lack of scientifically backed-up claims with my own and help the conversation.  I'd just suggest people that feel he may be right look for some supporting data.  Honestly, I used the ceramic coating for protection, and I see the same counter-claims about that.  My experience is that product (from Adams) makes it easier to clean the car and keep it clean.  Which means less rubbing and scrubbing on the paint.  Which seems to mean less damage. So Transitive properties! less cleaning = protection.  If wax/sealant does that for you too... you win ;p

This was 2 weekends ago, but I've been traveling and busy and whatever.  But this was a lot of fun.  My friend asked me to detail her racecar because she was asked to bring it to Alamo Drafthouse in Austin for a special showing of Cars 3.  She's a beast on the track and the car showed it.  We spent about 6 hours on it, doing a strip wash, full paint correction from clay up, LPS, glaze and finally I busted the Patriot wax out of the fridge.

Looked great when we were done! The kids loved it (and several little girls asked her how a girl can be a racecar driver, which she LOVED answering).

Here are the pics without which this post is worthless!
