I need to get some new pictures, but my car recently had hail damage and required basically a full repaint besides the bumpers. I'm waiting for the paint to cure for a few months before I give it some love. Here is an older pic from when I lived in Michigan and attended a Subaru meet.
and here is one of my dogs a few years back when he was a puppy after falling asleep trying to climb into the front seat. This was actually on a long trip to Florida before I bought my wife a new car that became the road trip car.

I see. I was always under the impression that sealant should always be the base coat, but I could be wrong. Either way it turned out looking good!

oski83 reacted to BRZN in Brilliant Glaze & Rain?
BG isn't a LSP, it's a glaze it's meant to bring clarity, or pop to the paint, think of it as a beauty product. The elements; bright sun, being out in the heat, rain/show, washing, will quickly degrade the product. It'll last longer than DS, but not as long as a wax or sealant. It can be protected, or locked down by applying a wax or sealant over top of it.
That being said, with my show car, the last thing I do in preparation to taking the car is to apply a coat of BG over top of my already waxed vehicle.
Brilliant Glaze over Patriot Wax for a local show yesterday:

Revive on a towel might very well be the ticket. If not, mix a couple of drops of PFP in with it to give it a little extra bite. Revive is non-abrasive.

oski83 reacted to Ricky Bobby in Buttery Wax hard to remove
With a 5 year old bottle of Buttery I'd be sure to make sure it shook up well and such, but you're right, doesn't need to be left on overnight.
HOWEVER, if you were to do so, a tip I picked up from Larry Kosilla with his sealant product was to let it dry overnight, then mist the surface with a spray detailer (Detail Spray) and then wipe off the residues as the DS will make it easier to remove and control any dusting.
Try that next time, if you are going to let it dry overnight.

oski83 reacted to Renegade in Advice on product layering on new car
WOW. This all is new to me. I have a 2011 Grant Sport and would love to keep it looking great all the time.
I've used Adams from time to time. I just got rid of my other brains of detailing products and purchased a full line of Adams prods. Keep the advise coming. Between the videos and the info I read on the forum I'm filling a book with all kinds of notes. Thanks again.

oski83 reacted to Adam in How much do your rotors rust when washing?
Using a blower on the wheels massively reduces the rust on my rotors. More water= more rust...

oski83 reacted to TheWolf in Leather interior cleaner and conditioner
I don't think so, as I use it on rubber floor mats with no issue. I suppose you could try a small test spot to make sure.
Maybe some of the guys who have detailed a 2015 WRX can chime in.

oski83 reacted to Ricky Bobby in Daily Driver question - Buttery Wax?
Amazon-Hot in Jersey means we are at 80 degrees and 80% humidity at 8 AM, and around 100 or so in the middle of the day with heat index and a ton of humidity.
In regards, traditional waxes degrade in heat. Sealants have about 3x the temperature resistance level of a wax

oski83 reacted to TheWolf in The Next AIR FRESHENER!
I always like how my garage smells like a candy store after a detail, so I hang an air freshener in there to enjoy more of that great smell.
If you don't like things hanging from the mirror, put the air freshener in a take-out container and place it under the seat.
I currently do this with the towel that has been used with Leather Conditioner, so I can have more of that delicious aroma.

Yep, Quick Sealant works great for this. Check out this video, the wheel portion starts at 2:08.

oski83 reacted to Jsf721 in Microfiber washing to avoid cross-contamination
3 hampers in the carage
1 polish removal and waterless wash towels. Nothing too dirty
2 glass and drying towels. Nothing with wax, sealant or polish.
3 dirty cloths that get used on jambs, engine and exhaust.
Been working for me.

oski83 reacted to Adam in Apology: Dispenser Pumps on Brilliant Glaze STINK!
Friends, I failed to test the red dispenser pumps on the Brilliant Glaze, Paint Correcting Polish, and Metal Polishes. We started sending bottles out with them installed anyway. Fact is, they work terribly. Awfully. Bad. And I'm not overstating this performance failure. These caps are a BAD fit for several products, and I owe you an apology for sending out a product without testing the method that dispenses it.
The pumps work okay with some products, like VRT, Leather Conditioner, Shampoo, Buttery Wax, Liquid Paint Sealant, and Rinseless Wash. (Some hate the pumps altogether, and I can understand that.)
I apologize for not spending more time testing these pumps. We don't often have failures of this level, and this was a big one. I blew it, and I'm sorry to have made your detailing experience less awesome.
So, now it's time to make it right. Here is a link to the dispenser caps, which have an official price of $0.99 for 3 caps, which includes shipping.
http://adamspolishes.com/adam-s-new-dispensar-pull-cap.html?___SID=U
HOWEVER: If you have any product with a pump, and don't like the way it performs, we will send you replacement push-pull dispenser caps, FREE!
Kindly use the code, "CAPS" which will make the purchase free.
Have thoughts on this? Post away! Care to email me personally on this? Adam@AdamsPolishes.com
Thanks, I again apologize, and appreciate your loyalty.
Sincerely,
Adam Pitale
