They should only be able to do that for residents of that state as if they give one to a non resident then they are enforcing a state law on a non state resident who is not required to comply with that law.

They can give the ticket to an out of state resident who's state requires them to have a front plate.  If other states are like ours, it will say it on your registration, so when the officer gets it they know whether you can or cannot.  Thankfully the officer in Montana did not ticket me for no front plate, but did mention it, well and thankfully he gave me a warning as well for the other reason he pulled me over.

    Tickets for front plates?

Pretty sure he meant for not having front license plates on.  In Washington it happens as well, just depends on who cares enough to stop you....and yes they can stop you here and give you a $142 ticket for no front plate...unless your car is a registered classic car or you got an exception letter from the state patrol (which they rarely give out).

  3. I have matte black stripes on my 2013 HotWheels, they are not just matte but a rough matte texture and have become quite experienced in keeping them nice over the last five years.  1st, when you have matte or satin finish, make sure when you wash that area that you dry that area first...do not let water sit on it and back in the sun.  2nd, the best item on them is the Adams Polishes matte detail spray, 3rd, if you do get water spots...clean them same day, I have used the ceramic coating prep to clean & it so far has removed any spots (such as from rain & then sun).  FYI...Adams removed the matte protectant from their site as there were some concerns with damage to strips that had happened, they are still in the process of reformulating.  So listen to Zman024's advice on the use if you get it from Amazon.  I have used it, and sparingly is the correct way.  Also have a customer who uses it, they contact me to send them a bottle occasionally as I had gotten a few on hand before Adams took them off the site.

  4. I need Canada Detail Spray for my car enthusiast neighbors up North.  I have a bottle of ASSC Glass Cleaner and black bottle of valentine chocolate mint, although the label is not perfect (it is wrinkled a bit), also have a pumpkin spice detail spray box kit, & pumpkin spice interior detailer bottle....if you are interested in for a trade...

On the contrary, I was asking for a low cost option, similar to a travel shoe bag. Just something protective for the polisher, not expensive or big. Thanks for the tips...I'll take a look at what I can find until/unless Adam's releases an option, and we'll see what happens.

What is wrong with the Nylon bag?  It is not expensive (right now it is only $4.99)?

I have the 100k in route and hope to be grabbing the coffee as well. I know I’m missing two of the  General Motors ones, the white label throwback from 2016 and a couple of the old old bottles. It’s awesome that once I started this journey, people from all over the country have offered to help me find them.

So any help on the missing ones would be great.

There was someone on another post...think it is Craigslist Bucket or something like that for the subject. He had several bottles of the Chrome labeled products. Maybe one of those is the old ones you are looking for....

    Love those lights.

Today I power washed my patio, and then unboxed my latest Adam's order.   Gallon of Micro Revitalizer, two detail lights for the swirl killers,  a whole bunch of towels and applicators, and the newest hat.  Thought the hat was white, but it's actually gray.  A nice gray, nice and light.  And then I sat back and had a couple of mints!

I thought the same thing about the hat. I only purchased one light...figured would get the other when need a little more purchase to get free shipping...lol

New doors went in today!  We waited 5 months for them.  Now I just have a bunch of finish work.  All the glass opens on the inside like you see in the last picture.  First picture is the front door.  Second is the back door.  Third as mentioned previously just shows how the glass opens and they are stainless steel screened.

My score from Cars and Coffee West Palm Beach! It was limit 1 bottle per person, luckily my daughter was with me :)

The bucket is also limited edition, all black. Black bucket, black grit guard, black seal and black dolly.

I got there at 8:15 and there were only 3 bottles left ... 1 after my daughter and I got ours. Not sure how many bottles they brought but they were gone quick. The detail spray and single soft towel was $20. I think I heard them say the detail spray by itself was $15 ... The all black bucket set was $50.

I will be able to sell the socks off of coffee scented detail spray! Just will park right outside Starbucks HQ.  FYI....I live in Washington in case you all don't know...lol

I agree, hopefully they come through

Call customer service and ask them for a gallon.  Will cost you a little more than gallon prices as they have to create it.  But Adams customer service will usually take care of you.

WOW! I need to get in the resell game apparently if people are willing to pay hundreds for that stuff. People make no sense lol

I am a reseller and had a Holiday Gift Box, pumpkin spice set, and two untamed bottles.  Had a nice 18 year old DM me on Instagram about them, sold for the normal retail price.  Am not out to gouge anyone, just earn a little to support my own car habits ;)

Ok...I might just have to head north this weekend.....no promises, but standby, forum members!

Anything done on here has to be a trade, though.

I will trade you cupcakes! Made Boston Cream Pie Cupcakes for the 4th of July BBQ at work...they are delicious, and of course everything homemade ;)

Thanks for the response.  I don't have any issues with it but just not as slick as I would have expected.  That said it washes easy so must be working :)

Last night I parked it under a tree that has pollen or something coming off it and the paint was sticky this morning.  Mixed up some waterless and  it was spotless in about 5 minutes.

You are quite the bowtie collector. What a signature :)

You are very welcome.  Pollen is one of those necessary evils in life.  Earlier this year in the Pacific Northwest you could barely get your car dry before it was covered in pollen unless you had a garage you could move it into the garage.

As for the BowTies, there are two persons in the Household that drives them.  While technical they are all both of ours (well except the motorcycle since there is no way I could handle that beast), we both have our sets.  The Centenniel, Harley, and Convertible Fifty Camaro are the hubby's (who by the way does not detail the cars, he will vacuum them out for me though).  While the two HotWheels Camaros and High Country are mine.  The Corvette is shared.  Although to be truthful, I have put the most miles on all three Camaros and Corvette, while he puts the most on the Motorcycle and the Centenniel.  We did also have a 2013 Black Diamond Edition Chevy Avalanche, but we decided to trade it in when the 2018 HotWheels came….it just did not make too much sense to have three trucks...whereas it totally makes sense to have three Camaros ;)   Today am detailing the 2018 HotWheels in prep for a trip to the Camaro Sturgis Rally,  Therefore, we should be able to finally get them all lined up tomorrow to get six of our seven lined up (the Corvette is loaned out to a fellow visiting from Australia right now)….will definitely post a picture and perhaps update my signature.

On my recent ceramic coat application I have noticed the surface not to be "crazy slick" as Adam mentions in the video. Nothing like the Adams waxes I have applied.

I did a coat of boost as instructed and about 4 days later spritzed the hood with ceramic boost again to see if that would improve it and it did not.

Its not bad but not what I would have expected.  I don't really want to top coat it with anything that would harm the water shedding properties.

So for those of you that have used the Adams CC, do you find it as slick as a good wax job?

    Rich

    Nice looking High Country ;)

When I did the Centennial Silverado it came out super slick, was showing a couple of people how nice it was and the truck was a bit dusty, so had them lightly move their hand over the surface and the dust just slid across feeling as if It was rolling off of glass.  I normally would not recommend doing that, but was not as concerned with the dusty harming since it is coated.  It to me it felt better than any wax coating I had ever done.

  15. Hi Kyle, from a woman's perspective, would love to have seen a t-shirt with the detail girl image, as well think there were not enough of the detail girl stickers made, as was not even able to get one, as they sold out that quickly.  As  you can tell by the forum chats, a lot of those pink Adams Polishes hats were snagged up by the wives/girlfriends of members soon as picked up.  While I like the T-shirts, they are all in Men's cut and they just do not flatter nor fit right on a woman (even the fuller sized group).  Know ordering in advance the different sizes and guessing what every woman would want is difficult, yet what we do a version of JIT ordering for one of our car groups.  We get our design set up with the printer, find out what our minimum order will be, then we go out to the members with a time frame to respond by (say a week), we take the orders and payments, then we place the order.   We get the sizes each person wants and we do not have waste/inventory sitting around.  Logistically only issue then is delivery...however with Adam's polishes you could make it part of a special mystery trunk organizer purchase that will ship only when the shirts are in, so that you only have that one time shipping of all items.  You might just be surprised by the response....

On the video note, I would like to see some videos that are geared directly toward teaching women detailing.  I don't mean that we do not understand the videos, what I mean is that women actually do see things differently and need a different way of explaining.  For instance, have seen many women who prefer a revolver over a slide action pistol, as they cannot "pull" the slide.  When I have met them, have showed them differently than what they were told or shown....which is that you do not actually "pull" the slide.  You hold the slide and push the pistol forward, they are always amazed at the difference that it makes. I then tell them to watch now how a guy does it, and now they can see that the guy is not pulling the slide (I have seen guys who do just pull the slide, but really they all push the pistol forward at the same time).

Anywho, you may have a bigger following than you may realize with a female customer base....so marketing a little more to them would not be a bad idea.  Including videos that are of women detailers showing how women detail cars (yes we detail the same as guys in the long run, but we may be shorter, have less arm reach, our grip may not be as tight, we may not put as much pressure down, etc)….so videos showing a women overcoming those things will show them that they can as well & can make their car just as shiny or even better than other "guys" at car shows.  I for one know that even to get to the top of the roof on some cars or to the center of the windshield will need a step platform....heck I have even been known to go through a sunroof to get to the roof of pickup trucks & make sure done correctly...

Picture is of my grandmother (and who I was named after) holding a beam during assembly of a Boeing B29 Superfortress while another women secures it.  She is the one who always told me that I can do anything in the world, so long as I want to do it (and of course not doing harm to others).  That is why I like to say, WE CAN DETAIL CARS TOO!
