I dont know if this is the right place for this but what do you guys think of char broil gas grills? I currently have a small weber charcoal grill, but I dont use it as often as I used to, and Ive been wanting to get a simple gas one for the backyard. Theres one on lowes for 150 and dont want to cough up the dough for another weber.

I have a traeger pellet smoker/grill and love it! Worth the price & through Costco they guarantee for life. Had my auger motor go out after 3.5 years (half year after manufacturer warranty), took it back to Costco they credited my account & turned around & bought a new one. Even then a new auger motor would have been less than $75.

  2. Been busy with working on taxes....that being we had a potluck at work today and I made a giant PEEP cake (it is made out of carrot cake with a cream chees frosting & lots of sprinkles).  Of course made carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting decorated to look like grass & flowers to go with...

  3. Definitely not an expert here as live in a state where we do not have state income tax (although there are some crazies trying to make that happen)...that being, usually you will want to file the taxes in the state that you live in/own a home/pay rent in....as it is truly where you reside.  Have also seen this often with friends/acquaintances who live in towns that border Washington/Idaho and Washington/Oregon.  Difference there is Washington has no state income tax, but has sales tax, whereas Oregon has a state income tax but no sales tax.  So each has to figure out which works for them in the long run....now if you are doing business dealing across borders it is an entirely different beast!  BTW...I do taxes for our three businesses - one which is a retail business with inventory & state sales tax reporting, one with employees & the reporting of employment taxes, as well we have two business rental properties.  We of course also have personal taxes (which include stocks/bonds/mutual funds, 401ks, IRAs, military retirement, disability pay, and three residential rental properties)....so do have a bit of broad experience... just do not like stating am an expert in anything because we all can always learn more.   Have also been known to help friends do their taxes (found over $20K by going back and doing 4 prior years of taxes for a friend).  Speaking of which...I really need to finish our taxes!

  4. So, did a search of the forum form Ceramic Coatings for applying to Chrome and Matte Paint on a Harley Davidson (they do a grey matte and a denim matte).

Unfortunately, did not see one that matched up.

Question 1)   Can ceramic coating be applied to chrome?  Appears yes....however on a Harley Davidson most of the Chrome is near the engine or the pipes and can get very hot.  Is it okay to ceramic coat the Chrome n areas that get high heat?

Question 2) Harley Davidson has matte paint, there is a grey color and a denim.  I read where others had ceramic coated matte, and that it will darken the color slightly and will add a little bit of gloss, but not high shine.  Does that sum it up?  Is there anything else to be aware of (such as removal)?

So the tentative date for the clinic is April 28th as long as that works for enough people. I’m going to post it here and locally (so we can hopefully catch some work).

Now to narrow down the topics...

is there anything special anyone wants to see?

I know someone asked about airbrushing coatings on wheels. I’m positive we can make that happen for someone.

What else is there that people want us to focus on?  We are blocking off the day, so whatever you guys want and as long as you guys want to be there we can do it.

We can peel back the layers of how we tackle a job?  We can focus on maintenance?  Polishing?  Protection?  Coatings?  The list goes on. Having ideas beforehand will be helpful so we can make sure we have the supplies needed.

My thoughts were to take a vehicle and go through the exterior of it. And take another and go through the interior. That makes two lucky attendees getting some service done on their vehicles.

This will be a hands on clinic. Attendees will be able to actually use our equipment and products to try things and see how they work.

The clinic is being offered at ZERO cost to those who attend. You have the option of ordering product through us at the clinic or you can get me an order ahead of time and pick it up the day of the clinic. You are not obligated to purchase through us if you don’t want to.

Please let us know if you plan to attend and topics you’d like covered. This is YOUR clinic put on by us. Let’s shape it the way you guys want rather than us droning on about topics you know or that don’t interest you.

A new reseller opened up and Adam Pitale came out and hosted a great clinic.  You can check out the video of what he did and said by going to their facebook page: Park Place Auto Salon, Bellevue, WA.  May give you some tips on what to do (they did two clinics).  Also, they posted it on Eventbrite to take reservations for the event (no charge to attend or reserve a spot)...which gave them a good headcount as to attendees.  They also had product immediately available for people to purchase, and the items they sold out of were: wheel woolies, turbo sticks, and H20 Guard & Gloss (there may have been other products sold out, but I know for sure those three specifically sold out).  My friends Camaro was used as a demo for the afternoon session, and Adam roasts him really well regarding!  I got cold at one point and had to pull out my custom made chevy bowtie afghan...so if you watch the video, you will definitely see me out there...lol

How long should I let the initial ceramic coat (Adam's) cure before I apply a second coat?

At a detail clinic that I recently attended, Adam Pitale stated that right after he wipes off the first coat of a 2x2 foot area, he will immediately do a second pass with the ceramic coat over that same area....

I don't think you want to use anything with wax in it on your convertible top.  I treat mine with Ragg Topp and then I can just wash the top with the rest of the car, including using the Ultra Foam Shampoo.  Rinses off real well.

Thanks Rich.  Did not think it would be good for the convertible top, but when saw Adam Pitale at a detail clinic asked him about using it with Matte stripes, and he said it would be just find.  Didn't think to ask him about the convertible top.

I heard he evaporated in a crazy car crash......  Racing through the Swiss Alps in a LaFerrari, and launched off a cliff, doing well over 200 mph.  He was racing a Bugatti Veyron, and winning, when he swerved to avoid a mud puddle, he didn't want to dirty the freshly detailed supercar.....the beautiful car took flight, and exploded into smithereens.....big insurance claim!

Hahahahaha!  Well, hello friends!  Seems as our little business grows, the days are long, the travel frequent, and the downtime is fleeting.  As our little family grows, my 'off time,' when I used to hang on the Forum, is now filled with soccer or basketball, homework, etc. ( The Forum is where I went to chill out, not so much to work.)   Crazy to think, when we started Adam's Forums in 2008, we had 0 kids, 3 employees, and plenty of free time!

Now, a decade later, were are blessed with 41 employees, 3 kids, and a pretty dang busy business. We now attend over 40 shows each year, and I see many of you around the country!

It's good to be here on AF, and I feel our guys, Dan Tyger, Chris Toth, and Dan Wolf, are handling this forum responsibility well.   I'm humbled to have you reading my words, and using our goods.  ADD has the best of me, so I try to keep communication to a few mediums, emails, in person, and phone calls.   If you want to connect with me on any matters that cannot be resolved here on AF:

Or, find me at the most of the shows scheduled on our Event Calendar!

Thanks friends, and here is a snapshot of who I am hanging with at every possible second:

Thanks Adam, am looking forward to meeting you at Park Place Auto Salon on the 17th at the 1:30 pm session!  You should check out the Food Forum and tell me which of the cupcakes/baked goods you want me to bring to the detailing clinic...LOL

Yep, Adam and Bianca will be in attendance at this event!

I just found out about this event late last week from Bianca, so that's why it wasn't announced on here yet. Park Place Auto Salon is one of our newest authorized dealers, and it should be a great event!

Am also going to try and bring some cupcakes to the event for Adam/Bianca....have got everyone on the "Food Thread" drooling over them...maybe they will bring some back for you Dan!

So, this and other posts you've made have me thinking...and drooling a little, as always...maybe you could you make some Adam's themed cupcakes/goodies for a future detail clinic or event (one that I'm at, of course :))? Think of all the flavors...HGG/grape, WW/sour apple, Throwback CS/cherry, etc., etc. You could even mix some flavors in the batter and icing, sort of like a tribute to products used in detailing sessions. Just don't ever use WC as a flavor.

    Whatcha think????

I actually have made a cherry cupcake and as well do make a green apply cupcake (with a crown royal apple caramel filling)...Haven't tried grape, but have made a mixed berry with blueberries/raspeberries/strawberries.  Other flavored cupcakes that I have done are Banana, Pineapple, Coconut, and a PIneColada as well.  What I need to do is get my friend who has a 3D printer to make me is Adams Polishes logo cookie cutters.  Maybe I will just make round sugar cookies, then do the red background and the big white A....hmmm....

Lenore, I think those would be perfect way to start off Shane's clinic on April 28th.  I'm just saying........:)

Not going to be able to make the clinic on April 28th.  But am getting to a clinic in Bellevue, WA on April 17th, where Adam Pitale is supposed to be there!  Maybe I will bring some goodies to that...maybe he can even take some back with him (LOL...probably not though).

  14. I have one of the greenworks as well, really like it because it is lightweight and easy to use.  Trying to start our gas pressure washer can be soooo challenging.  That being, if need to use a pressure washer in an area where there is no power, than like he gas one. So it just depends on your situation.  But the idea of spending $200 and getting two, is a great idea too.  That way you have two people able do go at the same time and make fast work of the project.  Also, you could use some of the funds to get a snubnose handle and a foam cannon to help with cleaning the fire truck.

Made some of these last week and took them to the Chevy Dealership when we picked up our new Silverado LTZ 100th Anniversary Centennial Anniversary Edition.  We stopped in today to talk to the GM about a couple of things and found out that of all the baked goods that have brought in to the dealership that these were the biggest hit!  The GM admitted to eating three in the same day (think within an hour...lol).  The finance/contract guy stopped me today and told me that I had really outdone myself with the muffins.  The Sales Manager was going around trying to find out if anyone had one left they were willing to give up...lol.   Sure made my day and was great to know they really liked.  Guess next time will have to bring more as 18 was not enough (one batch is a dozen, which I usually double...but I was conservative on scooping into the liners so was able to get 30 that batch, kept a dozen at home for the family).  If you want to try the recipe it is at KingArthurFlour.com and is Sourdough Coffee Cake.  If you do not have Sourdough Starter, then you can order some or you can go to their recipes to learn how to create your own sourdough starter (but it takes about ten days to create and daily maintaining it, after you get it started then you can maintain it weekly).  My starter is one I created about two years ago and have maintained it since then.  BTW...sourdough starter does not mean all things baked with it taste like sourdough bread tastes...sourdough starter is basically like having a wild yeast to bake with.
