Many people are going else where, including myself, so your not alone. In todays competitive car care market, there are much better products out there for a more reasonable price. Unless you like the fashion statement of using only adams. Today's sale I picked up about 25$ worth of some misc stuff to use up the last of my gift cards. $9 For shipping. That's outrageous for smart post. I can go to my local post office and ship the same weight package for 7 dollars and have it go from South Dakota to new York in two days on priority USPS, let alone 10 days.

Let's do something about that trim coating for you.

Further, why do you still have 3 16oz. G&G? Use this as a drying agent every wash and you'll notice the benefits. Use it on glass, trim, paint, wheels. Everything!

If you're not satisfied with G&G let's swap them for something else for you.

    Hi Austin,

From the photos, those areas look like they could possibly be paint chips down to the primer. If you feel the area, does it indent downward at all, or does it feel level and smooth as you run your fingers over both areas?

If the area feels smooth, you could try Detail Spray and a Visco Clay Bar first to see if it is some sort of overspray or stain (bird bomb, etc). If the clay bar does not remove the spots, you would then have to step up to a polish - Revive Hand Polish or our Orange Correcting Polish by machine.

For headlight restoration, I'll start by claying the headlight, then Heavy Correcting Compound with a Blue/White Microfiber Cutting Pad on our Cordless Drill Adapter Plate, then step down to the Blue Foam Pad with Heavy Correcting Compound, and then finally our Finishing Polish with a White Foam Pad. Something tells me that we might be finalizing some things very soon for a solution here soon

I try to keep to Adam's when I can because I like the results they give and it's what got me started so I feel a loyalty on some level.  Even with discounts and such, sometimes it's hard to keep to the line when there's much smarter buying alternatives out there.  I've had some messages with Dan in the past.  I hope they reevaluate their quantities sometime and offer the larger supplies once again.

This pretty much hits home. I cant justify using some Adams products because its to expensive for me to make a profit when i can get other products in larger sizes at a more reasonable price.

I'll order pretty much anything I can in a larger quantity.  It's cheaper for me that way and ensures I have enough product.  Doing this also helps me cut down on the frequency that I have to order.  When there's a new product, I'll usually order a 16 ounce bottle as well so that I have one for actual use, then refill the gallons.

For some products, I'm even entertaining the thought of getting the five gallon sizes.

I've noticed a trend lately that it seems that Adam's is going to smaller sizes for a fair number of products (polish, sealant, odor neutralizer, etc.).  I can understand the need for smaller quantities to be available, but some of us can (and do) use the larger quantities.  For some products, the smaller quantities have pushed me towards evaluating other products that are available in larger sizes.  I try to buy smart so that I can keep my pricing where it is and still make some profit at the end of a job.  I'm hoping they decide to bring back the larger quantities for most of the products.

K81Chevy reacted to Team Adam's in Removing fine scratches by hand?
The answer is almost definitely no.

A swirl mark is actually a scratch, a very very very light scratch and you don't correct swirls by hand, so the chances of you removing a random scratch, even a light one are about the same or worse than a swirl mark. Hand polishing can give you improved gloss and help reduce the appearance of fine scratches a little, but in order to remove swirls you need a machine.

    Hey all, Nic here.

A little about myself, currently in college studying to become a fire fighter/ paramedic. Been on my local fire dept. for just over 2 years now.

I run my own mobile detail company to help pay for my college. Whats better than getting paid to do something you love to do, right?

Id consider myself an amateur, although most people in my community call me a "professional", which i don't like to think myself as since i've been only detailing about a year or so.

I really like the Adams line of products, and hope to get a good collection going soon.

    Cheers,
         Nic

Was just about to explain this, but you hit it spot on. I have a few GM vehicles from this body style.

I always tell my customers that detailing only cleans and enhances your vehicle and can not fix damage. Alot of them do not understand this an expect me to be some kind of miracle worker haha. If your paints damaged, no amount of compound or polish will fix it.

Unfortunately correcting polish won't solve this problem. It is clear coat failure. GM, Ford, and even Honda had a problem with clear coat failure. I specifically remember seeing MANY Ford Probes and a few Pontiac models. The clear coat has failed and if you try to remove the "problem" with correcting polish, you are only removing what is left of the clear coat. A repaint is needed for this situation.

Niterider, you'll have to excuse young Nate as he has lack of experience...

Are you the original owner the this vehicle? Has it been in a accident?

Paint failure is common in this body style for GM, in these late model years.

Usually if you add wax to paint that is oxidized it becomes worse because it gets trapped in the damaged ares and it will not release the wax therefore causing it to look worse.

You can have to hood reaprayed just depends on the body shop you choose, the cost could be $300 up to $1,000.00 depending on the quality you are looking for.

I bought the new sealant also, just to get the licorice smell out of my garage. Sadly, the team at Adams accidentally put a new sticker on the older licorice sealant so I received the old stuff. Oh well, it's still great stuff.
