I just wanted to give members a brief review of several Adam’s products ive purchased and used.
In February of this year I discovered Adam’s. After reading the forums I formulated a plan for my DD. Ive always been careful being a weekend detailer but these forums took me to a new level and made me realize i was doing it all wrong!
I decided i needed to do full corrections and then was going to CC both my cars. (13’ Acura Tl 6speed manual, white and 17’ MDX sport black). Both stay garaged as often as possible. I also realized my black MdX had a pretty decent amount of swirls and was in need of correcting.
I first purchased the 15mm SK kit. I patiently waited for winter to pass and attempted my first full correction.
Before:
After:
Ive had zero experience with any type of polisher so I was extremely nervous to introduce swirls into the paint. For those hesitant—make the purchase!! Its a great product.
Basically this SK was pretty much idiot proof and worked great. All you have to do is take ur time, moving the SK slowly across the paint. I was hesitant to use the blue pad w Hc, but hit a few spots quickly; before taking my time and using the orange pad w/ CP. then finsihed with FP.
I actaully had to do this process twice because the first time i went too quickly and didnt let the product do the work. There were still some swirls visible after the first attempt.
Others have said this but lighting is key!! Soo true. I had every LeD light I owned in my garage, looked great. Pulled it out of garage and the sunlight showed some swirls. After another round, i was content. It wasnt perfect but near perfect. I could only see some swirls if i was leaning at a 75 degree angle
and the sun was reflecting perfectly off the panel!! I figure thats about as good as im gonna get!!!
I then ordered the new CC kit. I prepped car as directed and attempted the Cc on my white
TL first.
I was extremely nervous about attmepting CC. I had read about “high spots” and the coating being tacky and difficult to work with.
I applied as directed (and as Adam did in the video). I was able to see the Cc flash pretty quickly. I waited around a minute and then wiped off excess.
The white paint made it pretty difficult to see any high spots. I found that the Cc was somewhat slick and not tacky like other members said of the older 7H CC.
I completed the whole car and let sit about 3 hrs.
I then applied the CB. I used a few sprays per panel and found it easy to apply.
After CC and CB
I waited a week to see if I could find any high spots or streaking. So far nothing!! Surpised myself!!
Somehow i havent been able to test the hydrophobic properties yet because it hasn’t rained!!!!!! Unreal.
This week i completed the CC on my black MdX. The CC was still easy to apply. you definitely have to be more careful
with the dark paints. It was much easier to see the Cc flash. I waited about a minute to wipe off. You can actually see where the Cc was applied; it left the paint looking deeper and darker. I did feel like I used the Cc a little more liberally this time around. The high spots were visible and inwas able to take them down right away by wiping with Mf.
I pulled the car out into the sunlight and did not notice any high spots.
I let the car sit for 24 hrs and applied the CB.
Im not sure if it was the dark paint or me using a little more CB then i did on my white car but the CB was a little more difficult to use...but not bad at all. I did notice some streaking from the CB but just took my time to work it in with a MF.
Here are the finished products:
And thanks to you forum members my Adam’s collection has quickly grown..of course i needed every product thats made.
I hope this is helpful to members either thinking about CC or full correction their vehicle.
I was very worried about screwing up
both my cars. But im very OcD about my cars and Im actaully very satisfied with the results.
????Sk and CC kit well worth it and easy to use!!
Good luck

Good luck

I just did my Tahoe side steps - if you use VRT, even diluted, they can get very slippery. I use diluted VRT to restore the deep black color, then knock the slickness down with Interior Detailer, which leaves the black in matte finish without leaving them dangerously slick.

Lol. It was just an example!!! I do use the LC inside pretty often too.
I was going to use the diluted VRT for the plastic side steps on my SuV and any other exterior plastic trim.
Anything with a hint of the og WC is not a good thing!!

After reading several posts in these forums about Langka i ordered a set. Definatley an easy product to use. I had a few rock chips which are barely noticable after using Langka product.
Im OcD w/ my car and i can barely see where it was repaired. A scratch will def take a little
longer to hide but i bet langka will make it nearly undetectable while standing next to car. Good luck

I've applied the old formula (7h) twice now, most recently this past weekend on my challenger. I actually got about 90% done (I have 1/2 the hood and the entire front bumper remaining) and I ran out of coating
Anyways, with the old formula, I did notice that waiting a little longer, it was tackier and more difficult to remove, the paint after buffing with the towel wasn't exactly smooth, if you remember the video Adam had when the coating was first released, where his fingers didn't really glide over the finish, that is exactly how mine felt. I waited 24 hours (it was more like 26) and I put the Ceramic Boost on everything that I'd already done the previous day, things seem pretty great so far. I'm waiting to get another kit (it'll be here Saturday) so that I can finish up the challenger.
As for the applicator pad, the side that I used, it wasn't exactly "hard" but it felt a little stiff, after waiting for a few hours. I didn't toss it or the towels, as directed, what I ended up doing was rinsing them on their own and they have been designated for doing things inside the house, such as using detail spray on the counters, or glass cleaner on the mirrors etc. I couldn't bring myself to toss them after one use, not yet at least
Much like VetteDream, I applied mine in a garage that was very warm, and low lighting, I'm in Central Florida, and it was in the 90's this past weekend, humidity was up there too, no "high spots" that I've seen so far, I did have the car out in the sun after I applied the ceramic boost.
I did have fantastic results on my dart a little over a month ago and posted it on this forum, it literally blows me away when I wash it, the water drops look like they are literally racing each other to the ground as they fall off of the car. I'm drinking the ceramic coating koolaid for sure.

tlbullet got a reaction from rrmccabe in Ceramic applicator and towel questions
I just complete my first Cermic coating Sunday night. I hit it with CB this am and it looks pretty good.
I was concerned about the towel and applicator too and just to see how “crispy” they got i left them in the garage until the next day. Im a little concerned bc niether mf or applicator were crispy at all!!!!.(i actually posted this concern the other day). So im hoping you shouldnt have an issue completing one car with the one applicator. Then have a second set ready for the second car.
I waiting for some rain to see if i applied it correctly! But def odd the mf and applicator didnt feel any different.
Good luck

Yep absolutely. Waterless Wash contains nothing but cleaners and lubricants (To my knowledge) and plays great with a CC.

I’ve done 5 or so coatings with Adams and never noticed it was “tacky” as other mentioned as well. 1.5 years later still going strong and no issues!

tlbullet reacted to VetteDream in Ceramic Coating - Should I take the plunge?
For me CB is sticky/tacky and not easy to work with. I used it after CC, as suggested, and it does leave the surface slicker. However, it streaks, and is so tacky that it leaves sticky lint along the edges of panels after you wipe it off. Admittedly, I used too much after ceramic coating, spraying several times directly on each panel. What I have found is that if you spray a little bit onto a MF towel, wipe it on, let it streak, then use a second towel to wipe it off, it is easier to use. Even doing that, I still get lint residue after using it. You will immediately feel how sticky it is when your towel sticks to the surface the first time you use it, and you have to apply a lot of pressure to keep that from happening. Again, that happens with light misting onto the towel or panel. Don’t get fooled by the video of Adam doing the Porsche, where he sprays CB 3-4 mists in the small 2x2 area. That amount will be very difficult to deal with. Others really like CB and even use it on non-coated cars. I just don’t like any product that requires so much pressure to work it off. I would think that its nature would introduce fine scratches if there is any dust/dirt present at all, since so much pressure is required. It is nothing like working with DS or WW, for example. BTW, I used new Adam’s single soft MF towels each time, so it wasn’t the towels. As I said, it does leave the surface slick in the end, and it may add a little gloss as well.
EDIT: I am in SC, and temps have been high 80’s to mid-90’s with very high humidity.

I agree with @Nickfire20. Mine looks like that as well. Perfectly normal.

Sorry I’ve been on a hiatus from posting lately. We’ve been crazy busy. Between work, training and life...I haven’t had enough time to keep up!
In exciting news, we are authorized Premium Shield PPF installers. Just got back from three days at their facility being trained. Pretty awesome program...and it’s more or less a learners permit for ppf work!
Anyway, today we were back on the grind with a Ford F-350 Platinum. We didn’t know it when it came, but it was ceramic coated with Simoniz from the dealer. So we changed gears from “seal, coat and wax” to coating maintenance. We used a gloss agent that plays well with coatings and then a silica based spray topper. Oh, and Marquis was at it again inside!
Some more work coming up this weekend with an Adam’s Coating tomorrow on an older Ford Mustang.
Enjoy!

tlbullet got a reaction from Black Bowtie in Ceramic drying aid spray
Ive been using this cordless blower to dry my cars. Its much more powerful than previous generation cordless. I can easily blow off two cars, wheels and tires. Then i can hit it with either DS or HGG to get rid of any remaining streaks. It saves me a good amount of time and is light too.
My cars are NOT Cermic coated yet!!! (Just placed my order today for the new CC kit !!). So if your cars are CC then the water will blow off extremely quickly and easy.
