  1. The waxes still have their value and use. On the wife's car which stays in the garage, I'll use Waterless Wash and Spray Wax if it is raining or I just need a quick shine - read: escape from the house. If I want to go the extra effort, I'll do a WW and America - read: longer escape from the house. In both cases, they don't last long, but the wife is happy with the car and if we are going out, then I top it with BG to really make it pop for a day or two. For the kids that stop by and want a wash and shine, I'll hit their vehicle with Buttery Wax, it is inexpensive and looks good for a week or two. WW, SW and BG are also in my travel kit, you never know when you need a quick clean, shine and pop... The Ceramic Wax is in a whole different category, it lasts a long time, is super durable and looks great. I did the Mustang on January 19th and just touched it up this last weekend with a good two bucket wash and dried it with Ceramic Boost and then to make it pop, went over it with BG. The car was also well prepped before anything touched it and the shine is reflected or is it reflective of the prep work put into it. I'm planning my transition to the ceramic line of products based on how much I like CW and CB. I have also been planning for a while that when the wife gets her new vehicle, it will be going on a trip to get professionally coated, but all the others will use off the shelf products. Think about your long term goals with the vehicle and plan your product purchases around that.
  2. If it is really stuck on, waterless wash with a plastic razor blade works well. I tend to get vehicles with pine pitch and other tree sap on them and the plastic razor blade plus waterless wash or even car shampoo works well to get it off, including on the windows.
  3. Strap heels - for the ladies that @falcaineer jump over.
  4. I use Eco Wheel Cleaner on everything except the Range Rover and I always remind myself and everyone else that I hate the wheels on it. At some point, they'll get replaced either by a different vehicle or just the rims themselves. For the Range Rover, the rimes get so nasty that I usually have to go over them twice. Once I see the gunk start to run a bit, then I start cleaning them off.
  5. When is the Ceramic VRT - that won't run - coming out? For now, I'm planning on using the trim coating so I don't have to worry about it.
  6. The Ceramic Paste Wax is awesome and I've only used it on non-coated vehicles so far. I know the coated vehicles don't need the wax, yet I also know the effort is in the preparation and if three is a way to extend the life of the coating by having wax on it, why not.

Then you should know about the Tioga Game Preserve (Tioga Boar Hunting) and Double EE Ranch - that's family...
  8. For vehicles left outside in the sun, heat and humidity 2-4 months for inside vehicles 3-6 months. Did it leave the spots all over or in just a few places? With 1.0 I had spots in a few places and it generally was my own fault, either I used too much product or went over too big of an area and didn't get it buffed out in a timely manner. If you wet the car, then use a dampened microfiber towel, spray some Ceramic Boost on the damp towel, rub it well and make sure you can see the CB on the vehicle, then immediately go over it with a dry towel and then use a second dry towel on the spot again and the spots should be gone. CB 2.0 is a more forgiving, but the rule of not using too much product is key to getting a nice finish and only doing one panel at a time and rechecking the previous panel when you do the next, is a practice I follow regardless of the product.
  9. Hi Jeff, First - that is a beautiful Camaro. As @Parad0x mentioned the Spray wax is good for a month or so and a bit long for a garage kept vehicle. I like to use the Spray Wax when I do a waterless wash of the wife's car. Even though I'm in a house, I use the waterless wash when it is less than ideal weather outside and as part of my travel kit. It is really easy to use a car that is well maintained and not overly dirty. If it happens to get a too dirty, then go to a pay & spray to knock the dirt off and then use the waterless wash. I will be slowly converting my vehicles to the ceramic line as I use up the regular products. I already have Ceramic Boost and Ceramic Paste Wax and they are great. @falcaineer has some good pictures and writeups of the ceramic waterless wash. I have used HGG and CB and my preference has gone toward CB, but that is only my preference - it is not that one product is better than the other. Generally the rule of thumb is that ceramics say with ceramics, so you should take that info consideration. I also have enough vehicles that I have been able to experiment and have vehicles in different configurations. As for Brilliant Glaze, the stuff is amazing. Whether you are putting it under or over a product, it does its job. When it is under another product it hides small imperfections, when added as a weekend topper, it makes the car Pop. As many others will tell you, it is great on the inside of a windshield.

  11. There are a few options including #0000 steel wool. Here is a link it a thread a few months ago about windshields:
  12. While it looks like a near a whiteout Snow storm in Sumter, it was warm and humid in Columbia with a touch of foam this morning. You really got the truck covered well, the real question is did you get it cleaned off before the pollen adhered to it again.

They are currently on sale at Home Depot for $44 instead of $69 and for the Active Military and Veterans, don't forget to ask for your 10% discount which HD gives. I ended up with three of these today, one for myself and one for each son-in-law and I can confirm they are high enough to reach the center of top of the vehicles. My truck is almost a foot taller and the cab a little longer than my father-in-laws Equinox and I could reach the entire roof with the platform. I am pretty sure that it will be going to Florida with me on my next trip and will be used when I do the father-in-laws Equinox and Uncles Suburban. Since it only weighs 12 pounds, it is really easy to move around and yet it is very sturdy.
  14. The '98 Mustang got cleaned up today with a nice bath, ceramic boost and little extra pop with some Brilliant Glaze. The car does it outside at my daughters house and was wax on January 19th with Ceramic Wax. The pollen did not stick to as much as the other vehicles, but it still needed a rinse before I put the shampoo on it. The first picture is the water running of the Ceramic Wax after almost 2 1/2 months of the wax being there. I'm most certainly pleased with the longevity of the Ceramic Wax The second picture is after washing, drying with Ceramic Boost and then going over it with BG. If the rain holds off on Sunday, it is going to a local Cruise In. I'm still looking for the next project vehicle, so don't hesitate to reach out if you see a Red vehicle in need of some love and it doesn't matter what part of the country it is in, the older the better.
  15. Since I had the car to give it a wax\sh, I am updating this thread with a current picture with the new headlights in it. Soon it will be getting new tires and when they go on, I'll do a wheels off rim cleaning and tire armor them at the same time. If the rims come out good, then I'll ceramic coat them, if not we'll start looking for some original rims as replacements and I'll coat them.
  16. What a beautiful Red Vette. The Brilliant Glaze on top of Ceramic Wax will blow your mind, just remember that BG only last a couple of days at most, but it is unbelievable what is does for a car, especially a Red one. If you look through my history, you'll see plenty of Red cars, trucks and SUV's with various Adam's products them. If you have any questions when it comes to a Red vehicle don't hesitate to ask. Seeing cars like yours, just keeps reminding me that I need to pick up a Red Vette to add to my collection - a '72 Stringray would be my first choice of the affordable ones.

Looks good Rich. I do recommend getting something for the front bumper at a minimum. Between the chips and embedded love bugs on the father-in-laws Equinox on the light plastic below the headlights is crazy. It may not show as much on yours since it is Black, but the father-in-laws - wait for it - Yes, it is Red and the black primer under it really stands out.
  18. Neither does a Red one. Leaving the top down for a day ensures that you will spend plenty of time cleaning the interior - If you need to ask me how I know, just believe me when I tell you experience is a great teacher - Twice!!!!

    Subway Combos

I do miss a good Hoagie every since I left the north - at least I get trips up there every once in a while to get one. In the south you get Subway, Jimmy Johns and Substation II, but nothing like a Pudgies, Vincenzo's, Rico's. Anything from Williamsport, PA up through the Finger Lakes region of NY has some of the best Hoagies you could ask for and a lot of Pizza places that still have real brick ovens. Now, I'm hungry - Thanks Rich.
