  1. Bar brawl (might have been in one or two of them in my younger days)
  2. I have to agree with @falcaineer on this one. I used the Great White, which are excellent towels, and then was told by Chris about the Ultra Plush and now it is the only towel that gets used for drying the wife's car. And the Jumbo Grey works great, but gets very heavy with the amount of water it can soak up. I lay it across the hood of my truck and then lift it off and it pretty much takes care of the entire hood.
  3. From a security and liability standpoint, you really should use a Credit Card for online purchases and not your Debit Card. With the Debit Card the money it taken directly from you account and while you can usually get it back it takes a while. With a Credit Card, you are usually only liable for the first $50 and you don't have to pay disputed items so you don't have to worry about your account being drained. My preference is the use of PayPal that is tied to a Credit Card which adds two levels of security.
  4. @shane@detailedreflections I now know that I will not be able to make it either. The projected date for my daughter to get back in her house is the end of April or beginning of May. Things have been a bit hectic the last couple of weeks with her family and animals moving into my house. The most important thing is that nobody was hurt and the vehicles owner (not my daughter) was well insured so the ~$50k in damage will all be paid by them. I'll post other photo's and details in a separate thread when I get an opportunity, so Shane's Clinic thread does not get hijacked.
  5. Gun safe @falcaineer I can't believe someone else grabbed the "Red" thread earlier, I may have had a word or twenty to go there.
  6. I've used 1.0 and 2.0 and can say that 1.0 could be a bit frustrating at times. My remaining has been relegated to doing things like the lawn mower, doing the underside of the deck really helps when the grass is damp. It also works great on shovels and a buddy up north said he uses 1.0 on his snow shovel and the inside of his snow blower. For the 1.0 I would spray it on a towel, wipe it on the surface wait 2 minutes and wipe it off with a different towel. High humidity was also a bit of challenge with 1.0. With 2.0, I'm found it to be more forgiving, but still spray it on the towel wait a few minutes and then wipe it off with another towel. If you get place that doesn't feel right wait a couple more minutes and try wiping it off, if that doesn't work go over it again with the damp towel and then it should smooth out. The couple of times that I tried spraying it on the surface, it was not as cooperative to get smoothed out and streak free, I think it was just too much product that was being applied.
  7. I really do understand and I'm sure this picture will help you all understand why I moved from upstate NY almost 20 years ago to South Carolina.
  8. If you stop washing it, it will stop raining and snowing. Hopefully, the truck is in a clean state so don't have to worry about. It has been the same thing in South Carolina, minus the snow part. It seems that every time a wash a vehicle we get 2 or 3 days of rain. This last weekend I decided to do my daughters Range Rover, I managed to get it washed between showers and then put it in the garage to finish it, where it remained for two days. The worst part is that I just watched the news and it shows that we're going to have rain for 6 of the next 7 days - believe me, I understand your frustration completely.
  9. Welcome to the forum. My daughter has a Range Rover Evoque and we use the Leather Conditioner, not cleaner. The Leather Conditioner does clean while it conditions and you can use it your dash and most door panels and it smells great also.
  10. Hi Tom, I hope you get to put those sponges to better use soon.
  11. @falcaineer Thank you for the write up, I keep getting closer to ordering the Spray Coating. I just want to see the results of the Spray Coating on a Red car and I suspect it might be one of mine or maybe the daughters Range Rover when the wax wears off. I'll also admit that after putting the Ceramic Wax on the Mustang, I am beyond impressed with those results. Here's a challenge if anyone has a test panel available and the products. Can you do 1/2 with Ceramic Wax and 1/2 with Ceramic Spray and post the results?
  12. Not to hijack the thread, but it was part of restoration and the end was the Ceramic Wax and is why I am such a believer in it.
  13. @DaleH made a good recommendation with products and I've used both. CB and CW work well with or without having the vehicle coated. @falcaineer also noted about going panel by panel and that is an absolute recommendation. In addition, thinner is better and much easier to work with. It took me a couple of panels to figure out how thin to apply the wax or boost. For the wax, I found that a 1/2 turn of the pad in the container was plenty of wax to do a panel. The hood was done with a 1/2 turn on each side. A couple other things I've found with CW: don't keep it your hand, it warms the wax up too much. Close the container between panels and absolutely keep it out of the sun. When I started a panel, I set the timer on my phone for 5 minutes, it would take about 2 minutes to put the wax on the panel and that would let it set for about 3 minutes and then I'd start taking it off by start at the same point I starting putting it on. Trust me, your arms will appreciate the break and as long you use thin coats, it isn't too much effort to take the wax off. The results are outstanding if you do the prep and take your time. Please ignore the headlights in the picture the vendor sent the wrongs ones so they had not been replaced when the picture was taken. I have used Spray Wax, Buttery, Americana and Ceramic wax and without a doubt the top end is the Ceramic Wax. They all have their place, but I would not consider putting anything other than CB or CW on a coated vehicle and anything that warrants that extra cost (wife's car) will get CW.
  14. @Tim Congratulations and thanks @Dan@Adams for putting this together.
  15. With the prices you are looking at you might want to consider a Range Rover Evoque or Audi Q5 and that is from a GM enthusiast. My duaghters Evoque Prestige is a fantastic vehicle and it is several years old and has more luxury options than almost any caddy. The Audi is very similar although I haven't been able to spend as much time in the Audi, what time I was in one told me it was quality and luxury. My recommendations on the Evoque and Q5 are based on my best recollection of the size of the XT4 for comparison. From the same standpoint, my wife and I are still considering the new Blazer to replace her Malibu, but we just haven't made a decision yet. The only thing I can absolutely guarantee that no matter what she gets next, it will be Red.
  16. Welcome. I made the transitions to Adam's about year ago after 35+ years with other products and couldn't be happier. I've enjoyed learning the products and it has made a real difference on multiple vehicles.
  17. I decided to make my youngest happy today by making her Range Rover shine. Besides the fact that I hate the wheels on it, the rest of the vehicle isn't too bad. We've had rain in South Carolina today and I was able to get it washed between showers this morning and then into the garage. The first picture is of her mirror that may have contacted her mailbox and the second picture was after some work with APC and Finishing Polish. Unfortunately, the sun did not come out so I had to take the last picture in the garage. Strip Wash, Revive, LPS, Americana and finally Brilliant Glaze to make it pop. @falcaineer Chris, I actually put BG on top instead of underneath which is my preference, but I wanted it to pop when she opens the garage after work.
