Mike E. reacted to Dan@Adams in drying vehicle
Lots of excellent suggestions here. I don't have much to add other than when you use Graphene Detail Spray, CS3, or H2O Guard & Gloss as a drying aid, you do not need to use a lot of product - 2 or 3 light mists per panel is usually enough to help with wiping away any fresh water spots and leave the finish looking great. If you use too much, you could notice some unwanted streaking and smearing while drying.
If there is any sunshine, I move the vehicle into my garage to dry it, but that is not an option for everyone. If you can move the vehicle into the shade like Dave mentioned, even if it's just for drying if washing in the shade isn't an option, it will help. If my garage bays are full and the vehicles cannot be moved due to another detail, I'll sometimes move the vehicle I just washed into my front yard to use the shadows from my house to provide shade for drying.

Mike E. reacted to Chris@Adams in Brand new car & white polish
You would use our Polish & White foam pad & maybe speed 3 or 4 to achieve perfect results like you are looking for.
Do a 2 x 2 test spot on a flat panel like your hood so you will know what it's going to take to get back to perfect.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm 74 and didn't start using a polisher until around 10 years ago. Started with a Porter Cable which killed my shoulder, and then switched to the Swirl Killer polishers and that's all I use now. I do very little hand polishing now...........one black car, one white car, and both get the full treatments. Go for it!

Mike E. reacted to falcaineer in Trying to figure out if these are water spots or something else, and best approach for them!
How dirty your pads get will vary greatly, especially if you didn't clay thoroughly or it's been a while since the last time you did. Your call on going another round by hand, but the machine will give you faster and more consistent results.

Thank you much for the replies! Just my luck, mine is a 2016. I'll be ordering and giving Adams compound and polish a go!
Looking forward to the results!

Mike E. reacted to Dan@Adams in C7 Paint Correction
As Chris mentioned, our Compound and Polish are fairly low dust, but they can make some, especially if you do not start with a clean pad, or the compound has time to start drying into the pad.
I will agree with Chris in that C5 and C6 Corvettes have very hard clear coats; however all of the C7 Corvettes that I have worked on I would say are in the soft to medium range in terms of the clear coat, and are easier to correct than previous generations. GM invested in a new paint shop for the Corvette a few years back, and it is my understanding these updated paint jobs began showing up in November 2017 when the plant reopened. Having said that, if you are seeing a lot of swirls from the previous owner, you will still most likely need the Microfiber Cutting Pad, but you may only need Blue (Compound) and White (Polish) Foam Pads.
Lastly, be very careful compounding and polishing around panel edges, as some owners have reported paint peeling/flaking issues where the front bumper and front fenders meet, due to a very tight fitment of the panels.

Some brands create more dust than others. Adam's are pretty low dust. Corvettes do tend to have pretty hard clear coats, so you'll want to consider both Polish and Compound, and all pads including Microfiber. There are kits available on the site, as well.

Mike E. reacted to Captain Slow in What Did You Wash, Shine, and or Polish Today
My friend and neighbor needed his Jeep Rubicon prepared for winter. I started in his driveway with a quick once over inspection looking for anything that may need my attention but found none.
Off to my heated garage we went where I started with a quick rinse of the roof and windows with Adam’s Rinseless Wash in a spray bottle. Those areas were then rinseless washed and the roof dried. The windows were cleaned a second time with Adam’s Clay Towel then dried. Next the paint was pre-rinsed then cleaned with Adam’s Rinseless Wash and several MF towels in a bucket. I spray rinsed then gently clay toweled the paint using the Rinseless solution as a clay lube. While doing that I discovered this mess on the hood. Quick pic and text sent with the approval to fix it as best as I could.
😳
Down to the basement I went to get the SK 21, a couple of MF pads plus Adam’s Correcting Polish and Finishing Polish. This combination quickly took care of the mess. While I had the polisher out I polished the entire hood and front quarters.
Now that I was done polishing I wiped it down with a competitor’s panel wipe then got to coating the paint, trim and glass with Adam’s Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating. I can’t say enough how much I love that product; easy on, easy off and the gloss is off the charts.
Wheels and tires got a quick clean with the remaining rinseless solution, dried then wheels got coated with AGCSC topped with Ceramic Boost. My neighbor never puts tire stuff on the tires so I let them be with the exception of the spare which cried out for some Tire Shine.
Before bringing it back I cleaned the interior glass with Adam’s Glass Cleaner and wiped down the interior with Adam’s Interior Detailer w/ Microban.
I was pleased with the results but my neighbor was even happier. I’m giving him some Adam’s Car Shampoo and Ceramic Boost with which to keep it up.

Mike E. reacted to Rich in What did you do today?
Let me guess what everyone did today!
Sometimes I hate that my wife is such a good cook, because I'm so damn full right now that I'm miserable. Just me and her this year, kids both stayed home, one is in Maryland, the other just lives a few blocks away and he came and picked up his dinner. Taking precautions so that hopefully we'll all be together next year. Still have pie to look forward to tonight and hot turkey sandwiches for dinner tomorrow night. Tradition.
I hope you all had a good turkey day, or whatever you ate (my brother had ham). Watch some football tonight and take a nap.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on Adam's Forums, especially the boss........Adam Pitale.
