Opinions for Lacquer Paint
butchman replied to ACRCAR's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Bought this one in 2007 with 96k miles. Now it has just over 100k. Has the gray interior. Pretty much stock other than a cold air kit, LS1 Maf, translator. Runs great, A/C blows cold. These days its more of a garage queen. We have a good group up in Northern IL. "GN T-type Central" on FB. We had 115 cars at our last get together earlier this year. People still think its a silver Grand National. -

Masking tape reccommendations
butchman replied to DaveyT's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I use the 3M automotive performance tape. Its green in color They sell it at the auto parts stores. I believe its alot like the 3M blue tape you use on the walls and trim in the house but made for automotive/metal surfaces. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Adhesives/Tapes/Products/~/3M-High-Performance-Green-Masking-Tape-401-?N=5471778+3294262915&rt=rud -
Probably my new favorite....
butchman replied to IowaEmt1991's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
Big fan here. We didn't get a chance to wash the wifes Mustang before it got cold. Used rinseless wash a couple weeks ago. Was very impressed. Works great. My Buick is more or less a garage queen doesn't get our much and this will be the system I use to wash it now. What will they think of next? -
Best way to dry the vehicle.
butchman replied to IowaEmt1991's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I spray thevehicle with some detail spray and dry. After drying I always finish by going around the entire vehicle with a single soft and detail spray. That ensure I get anything I've left behind and makes the paint really pop. -
Crazy how it changes. A couple years ago I threw out my old Gateway Laptop. It was a 233mhz. I paid $2300 years ago for it and amazing how a few years later its useless and worth nothing. Thats technology i guess. Glad the flat screens made there way in. Those CRT's weighed a ton.

Dirty cheap towels
butchman replied to butchman's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Agreed. It sure would be nice to find a creative way to help them out. Its one thing to use a cheapo towel its another to drag it on the ground while wiping. I guess I need to keep the blinders on sometimes. Maybe I'll keep a couple extra Adams dvd's and stickers in my car. When they walk away I can slip them in their car. Pretty funny but not a bad idea. -
We've talked about this before. I was at a car show yesterday. First one for this year. I Adamized my car the night before. A newer corvette parks next to me. He pulls out a bundle of dirty cheap towels with tags on them. He takes somekind of detail spray and goes around the entire car with this towel and it made me cringe to watch. Towel was hitting the ground and he kept going. Then he uses the same towel and a bottle of windex and goes around to each rim. It just amazes me. Especially with a car that expensive. After he was done with his show touch up all the dirty towels went back in a pile in the trunk.

Where do You Store your ADAMs products?
butchman replied to whitechevy3's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
In the spring and summer all in the garage. I have a cabinet for the towels and gallons. I keep the rest in the cart. In the winter I put all the bottles into my 2 buckets and bring all the liquids in the house. I take a large towel and cover all the towels in the cabinet in the garage. -

yet another +1 on awesome customer svc
butchman replied to windycitylp's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
Yep. My co-worker is a newbie to Adams and recently placed her first order. She ordered a kit and the sprayer for her detail spray was broken. I told her I have plenty extras and would bring her one in a pinch. However I suggested she call and I said with confidence they will send you a new sprayer without a hassle. Sure enough she called and couple days later she had her sprayer. Not many companies you can boast about like that. -
Nice! I'm amazed how well it holds the heat. Just need tweak the vents every now and then. Charcol really lasts too.

Had an old Brinkman vertical smoker replaced it with an 18" Weber Smokey Mountain. So far I love it.

I'm with ya. Same issue my truck is too tall for the garage. I buffed out my truck twice. Each time it sprikled on me. I'm lucky to get 2 days before its dirty again. Recenlty I've had to deal with the 5 million whirrly birds off the neighbors tree. Luckily my wifes Mustang and my Buick have a nice spot in the garage. Hoping to move in the next couple years. 3+ car garage is at the top of the list.
