Got home from work and had a good opportunity for a reflection shot. Happy with how it turned out having not spent a lot of time doing any polishing except for a few minor scratches

I received my swirl killer pro and did a full correction on my 6 year old Lexus with correction compound and finishing polish. I finished it with paint sealant. Looks better then new. Sorry don’t have any before photos.

A balmy 15c/59f here today and sunny. Perfect for a wash.
Didn't take a before pic, but here is the old beat up nox after a wash, HGG, glass sealant, and a little attention paid to the trim and tires.
Probably time to swap the wheels back over to the all seasons.
Oh, also used TRC on the weathertech mats then hit them while working the tires and trim. They look like new - thanks one take Tuesday!
Lastly hit the interior with interior detail spray with microban.

More work than I planned to do, but you know how it goes. Once you get started...

After 6.5 hours today, I have finished. I’ll outline my process and welcome constructive criticism, and I’ll include some “before” and after photos, along with a group shot of all the products I used.

To start, I focused on the wheels and tailpipes, the tips of which were in need of a deep clean. Photo will be attached of after-cleaning, but before polishing and ceramic treatment. Started with the Tire & Rubber cleaner, which I’ve been very impressed with.  Did a second go-around with it just to make sure all the color was removed from the tires. With 20” silver painted wheels and gigantic Brembo calipers, you can expect that brake dust is my mortal enemy. As a result, I have multiple wheel cleaning brushes: lug nut brush, small wheel woolie, turbo stick, wheel brush, tire brush, and fender brush. Each were used for their specific purposes, and I feel the wheels came out looking nice, but they weren’t too filthy to begin with. I used the wheel woolie and some APC on the exhaust tips, stolen from Adam’s instructions on his video where he cleans that Cadillac’s tips, finishing with the Ceramic Metal Kit...more on that later.

After the tires, wheels and tips were done, I moved to the traditional wash, using the Ultra Foam Shampoo and the basic Foam Gun. Tips for using the Foam Gun would be appreciated (no pressure washer here) because right now I’m constantly popping the canister off the nozzle to rinse, and that gets kind of old quick. I hit the whole thing, focusing on the front grill to blast off some bugs with the Bug Remover. Detail Spray and the plush drying towel to dry, another combination I’ve been extremely impressed with.

Backed it into the garage for the fun part, starting with the Visco Clay Bar and Detail Spray to clay the whole body down and decontaminate. I left the Detail Spray residue on the body then hit it with a layer of Patriot Wax. I was concerned at first that the applicator wasn’t picking enough of the wax up, but it was applying just fine. The applicator didn’t get as saturated as a hex would with Buttery Wax. The instructions said to wait about 5-10 minutes for the haze to develop before buffing off, so I would apply to a few panels, then circle back with the Double Plush Polishing Towel to finish. This worked pretty well, and I never struggled to remove the applied product.

After the wax was applied and buffed off, I decided that would be it for the body. I did not put any Brilliant Glaze on this time around. I then circled back the wheels, and applied some H2O Guard and Gloss to the wheels, hoping that the protectant would keep some of the brake dust at bay going forward.  Worth a shot, I guess. I then applied Tire Shine to the wheels, and VRT to some of the trim around the windows and the windshield.

Next up was the front of the car, I tried out the Ceramic Window Kit. Clean glass, clay glass, Wipe A, Wipe B, don’t forget the gloves and ventilation. This was an easy process, but it made me feel like a scientist with the gloves. I’ll be interested to see how it responds in the next rain I drive in. After that was another Ceramic kit: Ceramic Trim and Headlight Kit. I skipped the trim portion and just applied to the headlights. Again, easy application once I read the instructions.

I had one last Ceramic kit to try out (all three came in my Mystery Bucket from earlier in the month) - the Metal Ceramic Kit. Using Metal Polishes #1 and #2 (which were delivered during the wash) I polished the exhaust tips using both of those, then used the prep spray and the wipes to coat and protect the tips. I’d say I noticed some brightening on the tips, but with only 10,500 miles on the car, they weren’t too trashed to begin with.

One other item I’ve forgotten when it took place was the Ceramic Waterless Wash. I used this on my door jambs and the trunk area when opened. Spray on, wipe off, buff again, pretty easy. I’m glad they included that in the Mystery Bucket, because I believe you can use that to maintain and treat the glass coating periodically.

I believe that’s it. All in all, a very enjoyable morning and early afternoon. I feel like I have everything I need to adequately wash, wax and detail my cars...but wants are another story. Looking to pick up a swirl killer to get as close to perfect as I can, along with some paint correction on the Daily.

Photo lineup (not sure how these will display): shot angled away is post wash, pre wax, side shot is fully complete, tailpipes with entirety of the reflector visible is post cleaning but pre-polishing, tailpipes with only half the reflector visible and something green (gallon of glass cleaner, I think) reflecting in the bumper is post polishing and protectant. Group shot of all the products also included. As I tell my wife, there’s a tool for every job.

Thanks again for the warm welcome, I hope everyone has an enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend!

I finally was able to pick up the car today. Here’s the final list of changes:

-Wrap in Oracal Matte Sunset Shift wrap.
-Wrap roof, a posts, mirrors, partial hood, spoiler, front splitter and lower rockers in gloss black
-Paint calipers in what ended up being a four stage paint to match
    -Gloss black emblems
    -Powder coat the wheels black
-6mm wheel spacers on the front and 15mm spacers on the back.
-Ceramic Coat with a Vinyl/PPF coating everywhere, wheels and calipers in accompanying product.
-Drop a mild tune in the car to wake it up a bit.

These are quick shots with the phone. A good video and photo shoot will be happening. The wheel pic was after driving it home, so yup...they’re dirty. These brakes bleed dust everywhere.

Joined a week or so ago to get some info on the sk pro polisher and have found lots of good info.

My vehicle that I try to maintain tip top shape is a 95 z28 camaro. Just fully updated interior and wheels tires brakes over the winter along with an antique plate. Have always kept a nice array of detailing products but just this past year dedicated a full cart and starting using “better” products . Went with a karcher pressure washer along with all mtm hoses gun foam cannon and nozzles.

My polisher is set to be delivered next week and am excited to see if the “swirl killer” lives up to its name.

With quite a bit of time on my hands right now I took care of my wife's Daily, a 2012 1LT Camaro in Ashen Gray Metallic. The Tire/Wheel swap is usually done after April 15, and the detail over Memorial Day weekend, but, well, I'm bored and now a bit ahead.

Broke out the Quick Jack, and removed the winter tire/wheel set up

I used my MTM Undercarriage Cleaning Tool, connected to my Pressure Washer to blast all the winter from under the car. Now, with the wheels off, it gave me a great opportunity to clean the inner fender wells and suspension. I lowered the car a couple years ago with a set of Pfadt Lowering Springs and it's now hard to get in the wheel wells with a brush with the Tires/Wheels on. Tire & Rubber Cleaner in a Foaming IK Sprayer, a couple different brushes and they came out about as good as new.

I dried everything with my Master Blaster Revolution, prepped with Surface Prep and applied a nice coat of Ceramic Spray Coating to help keep things clean.

Cleaned the engine bay; All Purpose Cleaner, the Pressure Washer, and the Master Blaster

Summer Tire/Wheel set up back on

Winter Tire/Wheels scrubbed clean, Tire Armor on the Rubber and Ceramic Spray Coating over top the previously applied Ceramic Wheel Coating. 24 hours later Ceramic Boost on the wheels, and they're now stacked in the basement until next winter.

The Weather Tech floor mats were scrubbed with Tire & Rubber Cleaner, allowed to dry, then prepped and hit with Ceramic Spray Coating and Ceramic Boost to come back looking like new.

    On to the car...
Summer Tire/Wheel set up on and dropped her off the Quick Jack
Mega Foam, Foam Cannon and my Pressure Washer

A nice two bucket wash with Car Shampoo using the Gray Microfiber Wash Mitt
Blow Dry with my Master Blaster, followed with a wipe down with Waterless Wash.
Did a baggie test, she needed Clayed. I had a small spot of rust in the left rear wheel arch taken care of in January, and evidently there was over-spray on the paint. The car has Adam's 9H Ceramic Paint Coating with the UV Tracer on it, but the fine paint dust still had stuck. Fine Grade Clay quickly took care of what was on the paint. A Rinseless Wash mixed as Waterless Wash removed the Detail Spray residue from claying.

I polished the left rear quarter panel, A Pillar, and C Pillar where the paint work had been done. I also had to re-polish the trunk lid. It appeared the body guy had sat something on the trunk that left some light scratches. There was also a light scuff on the right rear wheel arch that needed removed.
    Tools:
SK 15mm Pro and SK Mini
    Microfiber Pads
    Blue Foam Pads
    White Foam Pads
    Compound
    Polish

LSP, I'm trying something different, a bit of various product comparisons.
Left Rear Quarter Panel, A Pillar, C Pillar, Trunk Lid, Rear Spoiler, Side Mirrors, spot on the Right Rear Wheel Arch I repaired, and the Flat Horizontal  piece of the front bumper below the headlights got the new Ceramic Coating Wax.
The Roof, Right Side A Pillar, C Pillar and Flat surface of the Right Rear Quarter Panel got the Liquid Ceramic Wax.
The Hood, Tops of the Front Fenders, and Top of the Front Bumper got the original Version 1 of the Ceramic Paste Wax.
All the rest of the vehicle was left alone, with just the Ceramic Paint Coating applied last Fall.

The car was wiped down with CS3 after I pulled it out of the garage, and the wheels wiped down with Matte Detailer. The Tires have a few coats of Tire Armor on them I'd applied last Fall after I pulled them for winter storage.

The Stainless Steel exhaust Tips were taken care of with Metal Polish #2

The Interior was completely Detailed too. I wiped all hard surfaces down with the Eucalyptus Mint Interior Detailer with Microban. The Clean Cotton Odor Neutralizer was sprayed through the HVAC system and the New Fabric Protector was applied to the cloth seats.

I used iron remover on a rust ring that was on the lino on our balcony. Not sure what the previous owner had there, planter or table probably. Whatever it was left a 10" diameter ring that APC and a scrub brush wouldn't touch. IR worked perfectly, and fast.

After church services today mom's 2016 Toyota Corolla got a quick wash. I foamed the car using a competitor’s foaming surface prep wash. While that dwelled I cleaned the tires with some TW tire cleaner that had been hiding out in the basement for a few years. Wheels were cleaned with competitor’s foaming surface prep wash. After rinsing almost all visible dirt and road film appeared to have been removed. I washed it using several MF wash pads/mitts in a bucket along A competitor’s car wash. I rinsed it off then blew it dry with a leaf blower. Since it’s ceramic coated I gave it a layer of Adam’s Ceramic Boost. Wheels also got a layer of Ceramic Boost and tires got Adam’s Tire Shine.

Mom is a very healthy 85 and as long as she’s able to safely drive I’ll keep her ride shiny and swirl free.  She told her Toyota dealer service writer to not wash her car last week as I was doing it this weekend...and they listened!

Also took the one step kit to the headlights and sealed those as well, you can see how oxidized they were on the before pic. She was super happy, I welcomed her to the Adam's way of life 😀
Also cleaned up the wrangler, did some trim restore and installed the anti tailgate spray, I mean tire shine, or as my tailgaters may say "tire blind" 👍
