In my experience LPS lasts about 6 months on an ungaraged daily driver here in New England. I've found QS lasts longer and is able to withstand high temperatures (I believe 300 F was the max?). I use LPS on my paint because of the ease with which you can apply it. I use QS strictly for sealing my wheels, exhaust, under-hood paint, etc because a. they are smaller areas where the aerosol nature is beneficial, b. are subject to intense heat, and c. I only want to bother sealing twice a year. I used QS on my paint the winter before LPS came out and while it worked great (better than LPS in my opinion, in terms of forming a rock hard barrier against the elements) it was very tedious to do an entire car with QS.

Either way, sealant should go on bare paint, before wax.

If the zip code in your address book starts with a zero it gets truncated and causes the shipping options to not show up. Happened to me earlier today, just gotta enter it in manually until the problem gets fixed.

GerryC reacted to Adam in Adam's Distribution Has Simplified....100% Colorado!
Friends, what a year it has been!  In October of 2013, we started using a 3rd Party Logistics company.  Reason:  We couldn't ship orders quick enough, and believed this was a viable solution.  That program didn't go so well.   Well, really, it failed miserably, expensively, and we pulled out after a big lesson was learned.

Original plan, and post was explained here: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/26715-incomplete-orders-errors-delays-the-reasons-why-and-the-big-plan-to-fix-it/

Then, another aggressive plan:  Establish remote distribution centers, to efficiently deliver orders to either coast in 2 business days!  Looked good on paper, and we ran the numbers a zillion times.  It made financial sense, if our system was perfect.......but, it wasn't.

We learned: Maintaining multiple distribution centers required significant additional inventory, bulletproof inventory management software and system, and a new, well-trained team in each location.

While that might sound like a tough thing to do, in reality, it proved extremely difficult!

Now what?  Well, now we are back to the basics.  Back to Colorado, shipping from our HQ exclusively.  We have gotten the band back together too!  Dylan is back in on the team, and we have already accomplished some goals.

We lost sight of the simplicity that made our business, and brand so authentic.  It's safe to say we will be keeping it simple moving forward, and specialize in having the greatest USA made products available, instead of being a distribution powerhouse.

Thank you for sticking with us through my blunders and fumbles.  I'm humbled to have earned, and kept your business.

    Sincerely,

    -Adam

I don't normally gush over a product, but LPS removal is beyond effortless. You don't need a machine to take this residue off, and the slickness you feel under the towel will send shivers down your spine.

Detailers might be the biggest group of nut swingers I have ever met. People only seem to use the products that person they look up to use. Dylan is a very knowledgable and seemingly stand-up guy, and was a natural in all the adam's videos. But I didn't stop using or buying Adams because he wasn't around. I'm sure he'll do great wherever he ends up!

Adam's is where I got my detailing start, and although recently I've branched out to try some other products, this is one reason I'll always come back. Keep doing things like this Adam, and you will have customers for life. A+ good sir!

When I heard that Dylan was dismissed from SCG, I called him immediately, and invited him to lunch.  We immediately offered to bring him back, as he was a pivotal part of the growth that we experienced while he was on our team.  Let's face it, Dylan rocks, and we would love to have him back!

He is looking at several options currently, and will be making a decision that is best for his family, and bank account! SEMA is next week, and he has multiple offers and meetings.

We did part ways on good terms, and would love to have Dylan on our team again.......

Go Dylan, and no matter what, we support him and his family!

To correct this, simply go to your User CP and ensure that you have the correct timezone selected and that the box labeled "Automatically detect when my timezone is in DST" is checked.

Been saying this for a while now even though people tried to tell me the Blue was a different foam.  They color code the Blue to use with Revive which is non-abrasive.  It's the same as the Yellow and Red

GerryC got a reaction from Ricky Bobby in Clay bar follow up
You need to wash the car BEFORE claying. Claying removes the contaminants that are embedded in your clearcoat which aren't removed with a wash. Wash the car, do the plastic bag test as described above, then you'll know if you need to clay. After clay you can use any type of liquid or paste wax to protect your paint, but normally people will polish their paint after claying to remove any micro scratches that may have been introduced during the clay process. Claying is done on an as-needed basis, it is not something you need to do every wash. I clay my daily driver twice a year. In the spring I'll follow clay with a polish. Your situation might be different. If you're talking about a garage queen, you won't need to clay as aggressively or as often as a car that sits outside 24/7.

The forum is looking for it at http://banners.adamspolishes.com/abm.aspx?z=1 Shoot me a message if you need that pointed to a different location.

There is some very solid advice given so far. I would highly suggest using a polish after claying your paint. In my experience, there will almost always be visible marring after using the clay. At the very least, use some revive polish to shine it up.

After polish, you can then move on to protecting your paint. I use Adam's liquid paint sealant and then top that with Adam's Americana wax. Are the two coats of protection overkill? Meh Possibly. But I enjoy the process.

If you have never clayed your vehicle you will be surprised at the amount of gunk you are going to remove! Just take your time and, most importantly, have some fun. There is a ton of info on the forum here. Have a look at the detailing write ups that people have posted. This will give you an idea of what others do and show you the results of their processes.

    Best of luck!

I only use PCP once, for major correction, followed by PFP. Then I use only PFP for maintenance once a year thereafter. This of course only works if you follow proper washing/wiping techniques to prevent adding unnecessary damage.

If you want to see a cool trick for yourself, take a cheap made in china costco towel and wipe one half of the bottom of a brand new CD. Then take a quality korean towel (like the one you will get in your Adam's kit) and wipe the other half. Hold the CD in the light and you'll see a bunch of micro scratches on the china side, while the korean side will be flawless. What the towels did to the CD they will also do to your paint.

Save the bulk towels for dirty jobs and toss them when they are past the point of no return. Korean towels are not only softer and safer for your paint, but they are overall made better. You don't throw these puppies away, you wash them and they're back to new. Besides, your good plush korean towels should never have any visible dirt on them to begin with. Waffle pattern towels for waterless washing will inevitably get dirty, but like I said, they wash out easily and last a long time.
