I love seeing the progress but always come away from this thread feeling frustrated on your behalf! I sincerely hope that things start picking up for you.

randyfox reacted to Renurbs in '68 Chevelle
Did a full detail on a 68 Chevelle ss yesterday. The car was in pretty good shape when I got it, didn't have many swirls in it but the pain just didn't pop. We'll problem solved. My procedure was
Strip wash
Clay
Paint finishing polish with the flex and microfiber pad
Brilliant glaze
2 coats of Americana
Svrt on tires
And s100 on all the chrome trim

Damn. If you're looking to replicate this technology, it appears you're SOL.

Yard work! Plus, I helped my friend go pickup a tool box from Sears. I was loose in there with the Sears card and I didn't buy anything! Will power is otherworldly I guess!

randyfox got a reaction from dipolley in Paul Walker dies in a car crash
I was thinking it was a hoax at first until I kept seeing it everywhere, then confirmed by more "credible" sources. I saw the picture of the Porsche he was riding in posted by the AP. Wasn't even recognizable. Just awful for something like that to happen to someone who was by most accounts was a genuinely nice guy.

randyfox got a reaction from THE Mook in New Porsche Crossover...Thoughts?
It's quite handsome actually. I think the Porsche design aesthetic fits a crossover more than say the full size Cayanne. Certainly much better than the fatass BMW X6 in my opinion.

Where's the "love button"? LOL! Excited for you brother!

randyfox got a reaction from Chewy in NEW 2015 Chevy Colorado
I have to agree with Chewy, I think it is a bit better looking than the Silverado as well. It was high time an American automaker made a proper mid size pick up again. I bet Chevy sells a ton of these.

I'll say! Your Challenger looks as smooth and shiny as glass. Looks great!

randyfox got a reaction from 2008fx4 in revamping the 1966 chevelle
Work computer is being a PITA and not letting me see the photos, but I feel for you man. My Dad simply got rid of a 67 SS 396 convertable once due to a tweaked frame. It's good you are going to get this sorted out now, because chances are it would just lead to more problems in the future if you don't. Best of luck!

LOL, mine too. I am looking forward to finally using mine. It's been sitting in the fridge since my wife ordered it. Once I can detail my 350Z again I think it is getting the Patriot treatment.

randyfox got a reaction from Redbeard in 1955 Chevrolet 210
Back again with some updated pictures of the '55. These were shot a couple weeks back by me after I completed a full detail on it. I threw just about the whole Adam's catalog at it, but if you are interested in anything specific please let me know. Here are a few of my favorite shots:

Very nice. Only thing I think takes away from the car is the plastic engine cover. Maybe if you got the "vortec" shaved off and painted the cover to match the car with Chevrolet where the vortec is...just my thought.

randyfox got a reaction from BMWguy206 in DWC and MP 1 and 2 on 18 year old wheels
Hey everybody! Unsure whether DWC and the Metal Polish twins will do the trick on your old aluminum wheels? Take a look at my Weld Pro Stars. The stamp on them indicates that they were manufactured in 1995 and from my estimate, they have never been polished. Although, it looks like they have been cared for reasonably well despite the seriously filthy backsides. This is likely due to the small gap between the spokes and brakes. I removed the fronts completely to clean and polish. Unfortunately, the rear wheels were too wide to remove completely without deflating the tires, so they were cleaned and polished while still on the car. Despite it all, I think they still turned out well...thanks to Adam's!

Backside all cleaned up with DWC:
Comparison: The wheel on the left is unpolished, the one mounted is.
Front and rears; cleaned, polished and back on the car out in the sunlight:
