Thanks guys. Yeah, being second owner, and she saved lots of documentation, adds to the neatness.
not near as clean in this pic, but untouched:

Wow, I am super jazzed. We are only the second owners of our 1964 Corvette. The original (female) owner bought it new in October 1963. She owned it until she died at the age of 98. We acquired it last year and started cleaning, polishing and doing some mechanical repairs. Someone saw it a a car show and invited us to show it an invitation only Coucourse d'elegance at the beautiful Palos Verdes Golf Course. This happens to be less than 7 miles from where the original owner lived.
It had repainted once (original Saddle Tan color), over 20 years ago, but I went after it and polished it up. It has some patina, but came back nice. Anyhow, I cosider it a real privelage to be invited to the show. Here's a pic of the old girl at the local car show, I spoke to the original owners daughter, she plans on coming by and seeing her moms old car all cleaned up again.

Since I'm not correcting the paint on this thing, but still wanted to make it pop, I decided to pull out the Finishing Polish and new white MF pad and clean the paint prior to sealing. I also got a chance to try out my new Adams tape. Must say, it works quite well. Thin so it's easy to mold, yet strong.

I got half of the truck done before I ran out of time.

On a side note, MAN is it nice to have AC in the garage!!!

I'll finish it up tomorrow night so that it's sealed when I take it to get tinted on Tuesday.

    Picture is pre-polish.

blk05crew reacted to JBlack151 in Classic Car Wash Session - 4th Of July Weekend
I had a little fun this past Saturday over at the "Detailing Stables" where I do most of my work. It's a task my client and I have been meaning to do since early spring, however we just never found enough time. This past weekend we had no other choice. My client was bringing a few of his cars over to a festival at his church and while choosing which ones he wanted to display I mentioned we should take all the cars out off the lifts and let me wash them or wipe them down with Waterless Wash. And he can change the oil on a few of them and just let them purr for a while.

So this past Saturday we met early and began waking up all the neighbors with the sounds of American muscle gracing the air. We covered the driveway with Red White & Blue cars first then unleashed the Corvettes. It was a great morning and funny to watch how much traffic we created on a residential street with people driving by.

I will let the pictures say the rest. Some were from my cell phone and the others from my wife's Nikon.

And for those of you who always ask if I get to drive these cars, well this weekend I can finally say yes I did beside pulling them in and out of the driveway. I was able to drive the 1960 Impala and 1967 Chevelle to the church a few miles away and loved every minute of it.

2013 Custom Ford F350 Super Duty Black on Black

Last week the family and I were running around town in the rainy weather and decided to stop into Chipotle for some lunch. After parking my truck out in the back rows by itself I returned to the parking lot to find a gigantic black Ford F350 in front of mine. I couldn't believe the size of this truck compared to mine, it was really a joke how small my truck looked.

As I approached the trucks the window rolls down on the Ford and the owner begins to talk to me about my truck. We had the exact same rims (different sizes and colors of course) made by American Force wheels, which you don't see often around here. After talking about our trucks for roughly 10-20 minutes I ask him who cleans it for him and offered my business card. I found out that he is only in town visiting his parents and recently moved to Indianapolis but the truck was purchased and built in Florida. He took my card anyways.

I couldn't help to wonder who this guy was. He was extremely cool and we talked as if we've known each other for years. I decided to look up his first name within the Indianapolis Colts roster. And there he was on one of the articles on their page. He is from right here in Connecticut and played ball for UConn before being drafted to the Patriots. This offseason he was traded to the Colts. I couldn't help to think to myself, I am such a custom gear head that I paid no attention that a professional offensive linemen was talking to me, but instead was admiring the work done on the truck.

Then the following day I get a phone call from the owner. I guess he went on to my website and saw my work and really wanted to see what I could get done before he drove it back to Indy right after the 4th of July. Knowing we didn't have much time and his daily schedule was crazy I offered him a wash/wax package and would also take care of all the undercarriage and suspension as well. The only time he had available was the following morning. I had to rearrange my other clients around and was able to lock this job in.

So the truck is a 2013 Ford F350 Super Duty that was purchased by Extreme Performance from a local Ford dealership down in Florida specifically for the owner and this build. The truck rolled into their shop with less than 100 miles on it before it received a huge list of exterior and interior mods. The truck took a couple months to complete before it was delivered to Indianapolis a few weeks ago. Right after delivery the owner drove it 13 hours to visit his parents for a few weeks here in CT. Lets just say by the time I got to this thing, it was FILTHY!

As I mentioned prior, I only had about 5 +/- hours to work with so a really good washing with lot's of dressings and wax would only be on the agenda. During the next offseason he'll be returning to Connecticut again with the truck which we will then schedule a full detail on the truck.

If you don't spray directly at the wheel, but more in an outward sweep its rarely a problem.

I have been using SVRT milk and a prototpye spray dressing for months now, a few drips on the wheel itself at most is all I ever see.

If you figure the majority of aggressive tires only have knobs near the outermost edge you can dress the bulk of the tire by spraying onto the app and spreading the product, then control the spray near the outer tread as needed.

Did you know? According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, for every $1 that is spent in manufacturing, another $1.35 is added to the economy.

Did you know? If every US consumer spent just 5% more on US made products we could create 1,000,000 new domestic jobs.

Did you know? That for every new manufacturing job created, an additional 3 jobs are created.
