Wax buildup along edge of decals

dg150

Question

I have a nice white ring around my FX4 decal on the bed of my truck. What is the best way to get rid of/remove the residue? I plan on doing a full detail on my truck soon so I'm sure the alcohol wipe down after polishing will remove most of the old but I don't want to get more in there next time.

A tip is to use more compound or which ever chemical you are using when going over the edge of stickers or decals. What can happen is that the pad can pick up the accumulated residue or dirt around the sticker, and contaminate the rest of where your pad contacts. So use a bit more chemical in this area and wipe off and clean the pad more frequent to avoid swirls.

Maybe adams revive hand polish would help in these areas, but ive never tried hand polish in decals, so I cant say for sure.

I'll try to get some ideas by bumping this instead of starting a new thread...but how do/would you clean around an emblem where crap has built up? My WS6 emblem on the rear bumper sticks out and has a nice dirty ring around it. Before I start scraping at it with something, what product(s) should I spray to help the process? I have APC, Waterless, and Detail Spray.

Removing the emblem is not an option  B) .

Start with the least aggressive method and work your way up. If its just dirt, a simple car wash should take care of it. I try not to use my wool mitt on my ws6 emblem because it always seems to want to get stuck. Try maybe a waffle weave towel and carefully scrub around it. Maybe some diluted all purpose cleaner might help. Kinda hard to say without knowing what it is.
