Chevy threw tool boxes in a ford bed with the point down to make a point. You can make your point if you do things in certain ways and say the appropriate words. Id like more data and some more realistic testing.

So I got my son in law hooked on Adam's, and let him try the Trim Coating for his 2002 F250 pickup. The truck is black and we know what a pain it is. But a 15 year old black truck??  Nightmare.
Anyhow, last weekend he took the truck apart and took the cowl off to do the ceramic trim coat on it. Here's the before and after pics.  Don't have pics of it on the truck, but it looks great!!

    This is before.

    And after.

    Adams Team,

I wanted to ask a few things regarding gallons. First off, will you guys be offering Odor Neutralizer in Gallon portion? I have gone through quite a bit of that product lately. Not sure if a lot of folks are blowing through it like I have. I seem to have encountered more smoked in vehicles lately. Secondly, and maybe more importantly, would you please please pretty please consider doing the gallon refill kit once more where you guys had CS, DS, WW, and APC? That kit was awesome for me. And maybe even give us fanatics who buy Adams by the Gal the ability to mix and match on Gallons that are the same price within that kit. Anyway, just a couple of thoughts. Thanks for your time.

I have. These were looking pretty bad. Tried doing it by hand and it helped a lot but, still left a lot to be desired. So I got the SK mini out and used a MF cutting pad and then a white polishing pad. A non Adams compound and polish were used. Pretty happy with the results. I didn't clay or anything, I figured wiping it down by hand with the compound would remove any contaminants.

I have found it best to rotate 2 MF correction pads.  I polish a section, clean pad, swap pads, polish, clean pad, repeat.  This way neither pad gets too hot.

Junior reacted to mc2hill in Wash and Seal - know your customers expectations
I did a wash and seal for my mother-in-law today.  I have detailed her car many times, and when I started this hobby, I did full corrections for her.  Over time I realized since the car is outside under massive oak trees all the time, that it was not really the best use of my time.  She is happy with a clean car, and would not know a 'swirl from a squirrel'.

Today I only had 2 hours to wash and seal her car, and could not bring my full arsenal (including 100 ft. of Goodyear hose).  I started with the wheels - diluted APC (1:1) for the wheel wells with the Fender Brush, TRC and the old blue Tire Brush for the new tires, and diluted GWC and the Wheel Brush for the wheels.  While I was in the area, I also cleaned the lower parts of the car.  I used the diluted APC and the Wheel Brush.  Yes, that is not the most gentle method, but again, I am looking to maximize my time, and meet her expectations - a clean car.  This method cleaned quickly, even with some tree contamination on the paint.

Next I mixed up Adam's Strip Wash at 2 oz. per 2 gallons of water, and used a MF covered 'bone' sponge.  I have used several different Adam's Wash Mitts on the car before, but as I am washing in the shade under huge oak trees, things are continually falling on the car.  The stuff keep getting stuck in the fibers of the wash mitt, so I switched to the MF mitt.  This mitt worked well for getting more aggressive on the contamination on the roof, which needs claying.  I left the Strip Wash on the car as I washed it, then reloaded the mitt, and quickly went back over the car to reactivate the suds.

I was not able to remove the nozzle from the hose, so no pool rinse.  Since I could not "add water to remove water", it took 2 GWDT to get it dry.  I wiped with one towel, and it was soaked at the end.  Then I sprayed the car with DS, and wiped it again with the second towel.

Now on to the protection.  I applied PS by hand, using a 6" foam machine pad.  I like this method, as the foam pads are easier to clean than the MF applicators, and I can get a thin layer of PS down.  It hazed over in about 10 minutes, and I wiped it off and took a shower for Mother's Day lunch.

After lunch I found extra extension cords in the garage, and used my Side Kick to blow out all the leaves from the engine area, and in the doors.  Since the car was sealed, the debris that was kicked up easily blown off the paint.  Then applied VRT to the tires and trim to put the 'incing on the cake'.

She was beyond pleased with the clean, shiny car.  I know that it could look better, but it meet her expectations.
In the fall I plan to clay the car, a one-step correction, and probably with finish with a coating.  It will be more than she expects, but I will know it is well protected.

If the paint mars easily, then you would need to polish to get it looks its best.  I have a client with a black Infiniti that mars with a strong look, so I only clay that one if I am following up with a polish.  Other cars I have clayed and moved on to PS,

I just got off the phone, with Ryan at Adams and I must say he is great to work with! I have spoken to Ben a few times and have always been overly impressed. Ryan fits right in. Super guy, very helpful and as usual went above and beyond. He made good on a promise from Dan that I never collected on from close to a year ago. I am always amazed at how helpful the Adams team is. I should know by now they will always exceed my expectations. Kudos Ryan! Keep up the excellent work!!!

    Hi Austin,

From the photos, those areas look like they could possibly be paint chips down to the primer. If you feel the area, does it indent downward at all, or does it feel level and smooth as you run your fingers over both areas?

If the area feels smooth, you could try Detail Spray and a Visco Clay Bar first to see if it is some sort of overspray or stain (bird bomb, etc). If the clay bar does not remove the spots, you would then have to step up to a polish - Revive Hand Polish or our Orange Correcting Polish by machine.

For headlight restoration, I'll start by claying the headlight, then Heavy Correcting Compound with a Blue/White Microfiber Cutting Pad on our Cordless Drill Adapter Plate, then step down to the Blue Foam Pad with Heavy Correcting Compound, and then finally our Finishing Polish with a White Foam Pad. Something tells me that we might be finalizing some things very soon for a solution here soon

I have a sidekick blaster and a master blaster revolution.  I wouldn't trade either one of them for anything.  They're great tools.  I use the sidekick for a quick touch up or to blow out interiors.  I use the master blaster to dry cars.  If a car is really filthy inside, the I'll use the bigger blower there too.  But those situations are rare.

I'd rate the MBR and Sidekick among some of my favorite tools to use and I have zero regrets about their purchase.

Hi Brian, what time are you trying to call? If it's late in the day, it's usually just me answering phones as Bianca usually finishes up at 3PM MST and Ryan tends to get a fair amount of walk-in customers late in the afternoons when people are leaving their jobs for the day and stopping by.

There's cases where 3 or 4 calls come in all at once, so sadly some calls can be missed if he and I are on the phones with another customer. Bianca also works weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday, and her days off are Wednesday and Thursday, so it leaves just Ryan and myself for those two days.

You can also email us to orders@adamspolishes.com or PM me your phone number and I will be happy to give you a ring tomorrow!

Junior reacted to dconsmack in Adams has made my matte vinyl stripes a mess
No. The car was brand new. I even had to have the stripes on one of the panels replaced when it needed a repaint from a small scrape. I had to apply Brilliant Glaze with the Cyclo to make the new stripe piece match the original remaining pieces. The Brilliant Glaze actually removes or levels down some of the "texture" that gives the vinyl its matte finish; that's what's on the pads. When I first applied Brilliant Glaze by hand it made it blotchy. The Cyclo made it even, but it physically altered the finish. They are no longer truly matte with a subtle rough texture, they're smooth and have a satin sheen. I would recommend never using anything other than soap and water on matte vinyl stripes, and never let a polisher near it, or even rub too hard by hand. But, I can see someone liking the look it created. It looks like it's got VRT on it all the time. I've since sealed it with both Liqud Paint Sealant and Americana. Those products didn't make it any glossier after I used the Brilliant Glaze/Cyclo application.

    Hi Joe,

I'm sorry that you're having these issues, and I understand how frustrated you feel right now. To best help troubleshoot this issue, I'll need a little more information if you don't mind:

    - Make and model of the vehicle, age of the vinyl stripes?
    - Are the stripes factory or aftermarket applied?
    - Do you have any pictures that you can share of the affected areas?
    - Did the stripes have any other issues before applying the Brilliant Glaze and VRT?

If there are now layers of uneven product, it may take something like Finishing Polish to remove extra product. I would not recommend Strip Wash or diluted APC just to be on the safe side. I've used Revive Hand Polish with a blue foam Hex Grip applicator to repair some matte black stripes on a Z06 before with good results, but it did slightly darken the stripes. They still had a matte finish with a slight amount of satin sheen to them. I've been finding recently that Ceramic Boost works great as an option for matte stripes as well. If you don't have either of these products, I can send you them on us as troubleshooting items, just send me a PM and I'll be happy to help.

Again I do apologize for the headaches. Please let me know how I can help out further.

    Respectfully,
    Dan@Adams
