Great results and thanks for sharing them! For the amount of effort required to apply it the results truly are outstanding.

if your happy with the way the truck is performing now leave the 22s you've got a good look going on here. 24s will kill your ride and your performance.

You know I was hoping for a Chevy, but hard to pass up a Raptor no matter what brand you like. Also I have a soft spot for Red vehicles so
Can't wait to see where this thing goes...I have drooled over every vehicle you have modded for as long as i can remember. I mean like even pre "backpack" incident.

HAHAHA! I was told this was the perfect vehicle for me, when I asked why:
"Because its big, loud and obnoxious" LOL

Love it... and you know I'm partial to a lowered chevy with 22" TBSS reps so you're definitely in my sweet spot

Like any product its the extreme ends of the temp scale you have to worry about, average temps you should be fine. I've worked with it down in the upper 40's to low 50's and as hot as mid 80's.
As far as water quality, not really a necessary thing... it needs the water to get going, but its not going to perform differently using distilled vs tap. You won't leave water on the surface so even hard water won't be an issue.

Sadly the truck somehow came with 3.23 gears and the trailering package...driving it though I swear it feels like it has 3.42 gears in it. Either way if I can find an axle to swap under it I will go 3.73, but if I am going all new I will do 3.90-4.10 gears.
I have a friend of mine that doesn't HPtuners so he will be adjusting my tune for me since there are a few little issues with what is done to it now.

Love your "no smoke and mirrors" approach. The coating market, and detailing products in general are flooded with things such as pouring water on a vertical surface which looks cool but doesn't mean a whole lot. Excited to see what's in the future!

If you like it, use it Phil! We sell a bunch of Paint Correcting Polish to people who like to use the CA Duster. So by all means, dust on!!!

DirtyBlackHoe reacted to LTDSC in Using Freshly Cleaned Foam Pads
ive had to rush some pads a few times. i absolutely hate it, it makes the product work differently and gums up i've found. Obviously it differs from product to product and how damp the actual pads really are.
When cleaning pads i fill my bucket just barely above the grit guard and mix some APC/Shampoo in the water and shake the bucket a bit. I like the take the pads and let them soak about an hour (also depends how bad they are). Then i get back in there and really agitate them across the grit guard. In all sorts of patterns and it really seems to clean them nicely. Then i drain and pull the grit guard and throw the pads on them after i wring them out and place in the sun to dry.
Heres the outcome of this cleaning on a single pad i used on a single stage paint not too long ago.
Nasty eh? Moral of story, keep your pads clean and dry.

I guess everybody has their own idea of what expensive it. At $140 bucks if your detailing for a living is worth the price. Having the right tool for the job makes everything easier. Some may say having a hammer and nail is sufficient as opposed to spending $300 + on a nail gun. However I found situations where trying to hammer a nail would be difficult. All about what works for you. I know if I were detailing a lot I would pick one up.

DirtyBlackHoe reacted to Kingsford in Water activated sealant?
Water Activated Sealant has been my go to for the past 6-8 months. I love it. I've tried a few different brands and found a couple I like.
The two I use are applied a few different ways. Each can be sprayed on a wet surface (after washing) and spread with one MF Towel and then remove residue with a 2nd MF Towel. The other method is to apply some WAS to a wet MF Towel and apply to paint then remove excess with a 2nd MF Towel.
If really works well and is a big time saver. While it doesn't last as long as a Machine Applied Sealant it lasts longer than Wax. What I use has been on my daily driver truck for about 3 months now and is still beading.

I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised with the improvements. I can't take credit for this one... the team already had this one in the works when I arrived and I have been using it like crazy - its definitely an improvement over the original by just doing everything a little bit better.
