pirahnah3 reacted to TheWolf in Doubting Eco Wheel Cleaner
Like others stated above, the Eco Wheel Cleaner is for light cleaning, and is not a "spray-and-rinse" product.
I am not following what you are saying about seeing "nothing the wheel cleaner accomplished". If both your test wheels ended up clean, what difference were you expecting to see?
Think of it this way: most of the products are intended to make cleaning safer, not necessarily faster. Making cleaning faster, like a "no-touch" wheel cleaner, means using harsh chemicals, and those harsh chemicals are not good for the finishes on your car or wheels, not good for the environment, and not good for your health.
As an analogy, consider a test for Car Wash Shampoo in which you used the sudsy shampoo mixture to wash half your car with a mitt, then just used the mitt with plain water on the other half of the car. Odds are both sides would be clean, but that does not mean the Car Wash Shampoo did nothing. It added lubrication to make the wash safer, and we all know that using a mitt with just plain water to wash would cause damage to the paint.
In comparing washing one wheel with Eco Wheel Cleaner, and the other with just Car Wash Shampoo, I would not expect any difference. Its just two different ways to add some lubrication while washing. For the first method you are spraying the product on the wheel, and in the second method you are adding the product from your sudsy bucket onto the wheel. Some people prefer the spraying of the product and others prefer using a wash bucket and mitt.

pirahnah3 got a reaction from falcaineer in Winter Prep already
@falcaineer is spot on, get them on, youll never think about your glass the same way again. Also dont forget to use some good cleaner before hand, #0000 steel wool is a great way to get all that road grime off if your clay bar doesnt seem to help.

Shore Line
(Nothing more fun than telling a Recruit or Cadet to run down by the Boatswain's locker and get some shore line - say's the USCG veteran)

What you are probably seeing is off - gassing from the plastics in the newer cars plastic interior.
BG won't prevent this however it will make them look new when done.

pirahnah3 got a reaction from wildcatz80 in The “professional” versus the “amateur...”
@zw470, you said the key word thou, Dealership, they are horrible and dont pay worth a dang. Sadly most folks there leave soon after starting as if they are a real detailer they cant stand the rush jobs they are forced to do.
We keep saying professional and amateur, however I think we are missing the third category....Hobbyist.

pirahnah3 reacted to Chris@Adams in Ceramic Paste Wax
With Winter coming I would just apply another coat of CPW, no need for paint correction now because as you know with all the Winter junk it's easy to pick up a few swirls & scratches.
Wait until Spring...…..

@shane@detailedreflections Thanks!
Ozone is great, you can really get a lot of uses out of it, and its not as harmful to the environment as other options.
Ozone itself is 03 (its also sometimes called trioxygen) which makes is a radical ion, the bond does not like to stick around and it reacts very easily with other items reducing to o2 AKA Dioxygen which is a much more stable but still reactable molecule. There are some warnings with O3 in large quantities and it can be harmful including deadly. I agree that it is a great way to get rid of odors with no adverse effects to the initial source (Typically). You just need to watch out when you go to open up the area after so as to not be overly exposed to any remaining gas.
