tjk reacted to jakerodz7 in Bye bye Charger R/T hello 2016 Charger SRT!
Congrats on the awesome ride brother, I love how the chargers look and the fact that you get all the fun while still having the 4 doors and better use of the car. Enjoy it, I might be joining the SRT family next year.

tjk reacted to Dylan@RUPES in Adam's Coating?!
Don't get sucked into the pencil hardness evaluation of coatings, its a red herring. Its a topic thats far more in depth than what I'm going to get into here, but the long and short is the "9H" claim thrown around by so many products is effectively useless as its not validated and honestly has very little real world benefit due to the low amount of film buildup by most products.

tjk reacted to Dylan@RUPES in Adam's Coating?!
Certainly that is true, my point is this - there is no standard by which coatings are measured and a pencil hardness test is easily manipulated by the coating thickness. If you do the deep dive with some of these products, and assuming they even actually did the test and will provide the information the 9H rating only comes in at a thickness of 25µ or more which is an unrealistic thickness to recreate on the paint of a vehicle. At the more realistic level of 5µ the hardness evaluation can drop by 4 levels or more.
Again - red herring.
Facts - can a coating provide increased resistance to light swirls and marring? Absolutely! Does a claim of 9H make one coating harder than another? Absolutely not unless both coatings are compared at their ACTUAL applied thickness for a set number of coats for the comparison.

tjk reacted to Ricky Bobby in New Glass Towels
I have the exact problem on my wifes inner windshield as its the only one without tint film applied to it -
My solution is to visco clay it, I think there are some bonded contaminants on the inside probably from sitting in a factory somewhere which makes it "sticky" - I call it "grabby" personally but I agree 100%
Visco Clay on the interior glass should not harm in the least and at least you will know its contaminant free, will update after I clay the inner windshield of my wifes car this weekend to see if it cures it.

Found this on one of the Adam's videos. Probably just a broom, but if you squint it looks like a pole mounted wash wedge lol

tjk got a reaction from Sunshine in How do I remove Duct Tape residue from mirror frame on side mirror?
As all said goo-done is good ,also wd-40 is great as it doesn't dry out quickly it can be applied left for a few hours to penetrate the duct tape residue then rub the mess off with a cheap microfiber and some more wd-40. I use a product called presolv it's made by LPS and it's absolutely the best product ever for that but it's harder to get and isn't as inexpensive. I remove tons of vinyl wraps and stickers off cars and buy this stuff by the gallons

tjk reacted to Kraterer in Detailing "First Aid Kit"/Travel Kit?
Found this at WalMart in the cosmetic bag department last weekend. The Adams sampler bottles fit perfectly on one side, the other side holds a couple of microfiber towels. Perfect for the glove box... in case of a detail emergency!

tjk reacted to DCRANER in Adam's Members Rehab & Detox Clinic
Yes, I think I am on to what may be needed. In Colorado of course, mountains & fresh air.
Along with all the Adam's stuff over recent years, then Strip Wash & H2O Guard just received, now I get a message about Wash & Wax!
The sight of the Adam's logo on fresh bottles, the aroma, and the thought of what could show up next, well, it just may overcome even the best of us.
So Adam, nothing fancy, a little bed near a window for seeing the mountains, maybe a few snacks, and something to slowly wean us off the aroma & videos, then we can recover to detail another day. Of course we will pay for the rehab, in fact I'm going to call my insurance company to see if Detail / Waxing Rehab is covered.
Just a suggestion.
Thanks for listening.
