That was my thought, too. Something else was still ln the sprayer. Glad it all worked out, though. BG to the rescue again...such an underrated product!

    Hi Jon,
Brilliant Glaze should be able to remove the staining.   I had a similar experience with a new sprayer, not an IK Pro, but similar and my mistake was that I did not thoroughly wash the sprayer first.  While I cannot state this is what happened to you, but I found out there was some sort of lubricant within the sprayer and it came out upon first use.

Trying using BG on the affected areas, that will usually get them back to being pristine again.

falcaineer reacted to RayS in Preparing for Spring 2020
I managed to complete another project on the garage over the long weekend, which was 5 days long for me.   After taking everything out of my garage and the wife being nice enough to let me put it all in her garage, I coated my floor.  The weather was excellent and it wasn't difficult to do it was a matter of following the steps and paying particular attention to the preparation.    It was really surprising how many marks were on the floor, yet I know the floor was clean.

To make sure I would have the optimal bonding of the coating to the concrete, I did the three step process for cleaning.  Degrease the bad spots, sand the really bad stops and the use the Citric Acid with a triple rinse to ensure it was fully etched, which got the floor to this condition.

The tape around the wall is one single piece with the exception of the overhead door. If you have never had to tape along a floor, it is one of the easiest places to tape.  Just lay the tape roll on the floor, unroll it the length of your arms and press it in place.  If you do need get some touching the floor, just trim it with a razor blade or box cutter.   For the tape across the door threshold, you can go up to the door, under the door or all the way to cut.  I decided that I wanted the coating to be partially under the weather seal, so the tape is aligned to the middle of the weather seal.

The tape on the left side floor, follows a stress cut since I had a concern of having enough material, and if I ran short, it would have made it easy to have a set line to star the next round after running to the hardware store.   Fortunately, the 2.5 garage kit was enough to cover the floor, but would not have been if I didn't have the cabinets in place.  The garage is 31x23 and the floor is smooth with reduced amount of coating required.

Here are the results of the Coating + Chips + Clear

This is this post cleanup with the center lights turned on.

If you are thinking about doing this to your garage, I can say that to me it was absolutely worth it.  It took me 5 days of about 5 hours per day to get it done.  You need to complete each step, let the floor thoroughly dry, find any spots that need more attention and then move forward.   If the instructions say you can do light walking after X hours, double that time just in case you have spot that hasn't dried enough otherwise you might leave a foot print - no need to ask me how I know, albeit light, I will know it is there.

When spreading chips, ceiling fans on low speed are great, medium speed not much and high speed creates a mess.  Throw the chips in the air and let them settle, you can always add more chips if you want a deeper pattern, I liked the look of the medium density so that is what I went for.  If you forget to throw the chips and have gone 8 feet instead of 4 feet, let's just say you have to throw them very hard to get them to the desired area - I only made that mistake once.     Water or Sweat on the floor while you are doing the coating or clear top coat is a bad thing, you'll get a bubble or round gap.  It was warm, so I can show you each spot where there was a drop, fortunately there were only a couple, after that I kept a shop rag in the back pocket to immediately take care of the moisture.

Overall for being my first time coating a floor, it wasn't bad, a second person to help would have been nice, but wasn't required.  The outcome of the floor, even with my few foobars, has made me happy and the wife, so I'll get to do her garage next.

Now that the floor is done, I get to build my custom shelves to replace the metal shelves that I had in there, which will go into the wife's new shed which we ordered today.  Other tasks are installing the baseboard molding, getting the rest of the art put up and building the portal workbench.   The last thing is to convince the wife that we are not going to find a good condition used lift, so I need to purchase a new one.

I've pretty much swapped to using it on most of my details, the versatility really is awesome. That said, ID still has a place for light touch-ups and just to change things up a bit. I like both, but the TIC really has grown on me.

Since this is an Adam's forum we aren't going to promote our competitors. That said, using other products not designed by Adam's can't be guaranteed to be compatible, and since the Advanced Graphene is a different technology you may be masking its properties of it even bonds (doubtful).

What are you using to maintain the coating now? How often are you washing it? With what?

falcaineer reacted to RayS in Can you use Adam's on Tractors
    The simple answer is Yes.

My brother-in-law needed some help on the farm, which has free range chickens, so I went to Wisconsin for week.  The main goal was to put new windows in the barn, he was fortunate enough to have his new tractor show up on Monday.  I couldn't resist the opportunity to make it shine and protect it with Adam's.

There are so many parts to try and get into that I was noticing places that I missed for a couple of days. It will be interesting see how it looks after a year of usage and the WI winter.

I also found out that some of the chickens approve of the wife's Terrain, either looking at themselves in the shine or using it as shade.

Steam seems to help a bit, it definitely loosens the caulking and makes it more pliable. It has been a heck of a time but I think I have developed a foolproof method that has been successful while not damaging interior parts. I will be making another reply with the steps I took to correct the mess.

    Yes, can see now.

Paint Sealant will work, but it will not withstand the heat created by the brakes for long - it's only for months on paint, so I'd guess a fraction of that on brakes. A coating on the other hand would be your best option and last the longest.

falcaineer got a reaction from MoeD in Can I sometimes use Graphene Detail Spray but other times use Slick & Slide on a graphene coated car
Yes, but their properties and how they'll behave are much closer since they also contain Graphene resins like in the coatings, albeit in much lower concentrations. Like I said, any can be used, but in my opinion staying within the same product family is a better choice.

Slick & Slide does not have a silicate resin, it's a reactive polymer that will behave similarly since it crosslinks and cures. Not arguing, just relaying more accurate info.

falcaineer got a reaction from UTVol in Can I sometimes use Graphene Detail Spray but other times use Slick & Slide on a graphene coated car
In my opinion, this is a can vs. should. Can you? Sure. Should you? I think you should stay in the same product family especially when you have a coating. Otherwise, the topper is masking the properties of the coating that you worked hard to get. Slick & Slide is a polymer based product, while there are a variety of products in the Graphene lineup better suited to maintain your coating.

While this project has been going on for over a month, we are only waiting on two more parts, new tool box and the aluminum bi-fold gate.  The trailer is nearly 30 years old and needed some pretty significant reconditioning.   The first two pictures below show the condition that it started on the inside and outside.

The next two pictures show it how it came out once the body work was done, new boards put along with almost 100 carriage bolts to hold them.    We also put new LED lights along with rewiring it.   Once the other parts come in, then I'll add a Graphene coating so it will keep looking good for a while.

It has had been a while since the wife's garage queen had gotten my attention for a weekend. I washed on Friday and spent Saturday and Sunday polishing it and then putting on a Graphene coating and today was spent on interior.  It's going to get a set of Pirelli Scorpion Plus 3 tires this week and then I'll coat the wheels and do the wheel wells while they are off.

falcaineer reacted to RayS in Adams or Other (Meguiars and so on)
Let me see if I can help you by telling you why I went all in on Adam's products in 2018 after using various products from a multitude of vendors for 30 years before that.   I am not going to name the products or vendors I switched from, but will tell you that the vast majority were good products and some were very good.  Throughout my car care years, I also tried some that were poor, a few of which are no longer around.

When I started with Adam's, I was after a few specific items and the one thing that stood out immediately was how well the Adam's products worked together.  There was no longer a question of whether the Shampoo from vendor A worked well with the paint protection from vendor B.  Any product that came from Adam's worked well with other products from Adam's, so there was no doubt in my mind that Adam's not only had good chemical engineering, they also had extensive testing.

In the last couple of years there has become two product lines, Ceramic and non-ceramic, so that is a decision on which path to choose.  I maintain so many vehicles that I have a stock of both so I can use whichever is best for the vehicle or owner.    Each person has a difference goal for their vehicle and once you determine your goal and effort you want to put forth, then you can determine the best product line and which of those products you want to use.

falcaineer reacted to Cory M in Graphene CS3 made my car explode
Late last summer/ early fall, I had my car cosmetically improved- paint repair, polish, PPF installed and Adam's Graphene Ceramic Coating applied. I did not dare do this myself on this car. I have a Honda Accord and Odyssey that I can experiment with and screw up without worry. When I picked up the car from my local dealership who did the work- it looked great. It was then parked for the winter. I went for my first drive this year after wiping it down with Graphene Detail Spray and it looked great. Before my second drive, I decided to use some Graphene CS3- the result was insane. The gloss was nuts. During my drive, I saw mouths dropping open, many thumbs up, horns honking and a group of young girls screaming at me to tell me they loved the car. My paint wasn't popping- it was exploding. The pictures in the sunlight don't do justice since the camera was adjusting for the lighting conditions. When I pulled out of the storage unit and looked at the car, I was in awe and had to take pictures. I now have an arsenal of Adam's products to use in my car care routine, but Graphene CS3 is my favorite. Love the scent too.

    Hi Mitch,
First welcome to the Forum and don't forget for post an official intro.

I have not heard of anyone being told that there is a problem with a Adam's Tire and Wheel Cleaner and brake rotors.  If that were the case, then I would not expect the Adam's products to sold at most Chevy Dealers.  What also stands out is that it is only one of your rotors and pads, if it was the Adam's Tire and Wheel cleaner, then it should be affecting all of them.   I'll note that I have not yet dealt with the 2023 version of the Ceramic Brake Rotors if you had that option put on the C8.  In my opinion if only one rotor is affected and do you not have staining on the wheel which would indicate you did not rinse it off, then it is most likely a defective part.

Yes, as stated, the test is not with a glove or your finger, but how a towel drags across it.  How does it rub (or not rub) off?  If you're letting it sit for 10+ minutes, you also probably need to be going back over it and looking for high spots.  that's quite a chunk of time.  It's working, you're just not catching it.
