Finally decided to take the plunge and start detailing my own vehicles.   Just finished my first car.   Overall pretty darn happy, but need to work out a few kinks.  Thanks to all the great advise on this forum and of course the awesome products from Adam's.

Thank you, Chris. I don't have it as bad as some but it's -12 in Indianapolis. I had trouble pulling the door open at the office this morning because of the wind.

    On Saturday I detailed a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500.

He loaned his daily beater out and had to use this for work. He works on pretty dirty job sites so it was filthy. Dirt caked on in every orifice and significant road tar in the front right wheel well.

It was a full interior/exterior job but I didn't get after pictures of the interior because I ran out of sunlight by the time I was done (I worked with LED's to finish the job up).

This took me 9 hours start to finish. The exterior was done with an all in one polish to restore shine and gloss and then that was topped with a spray sealant for some extra longevity and added depth. The wheels were cleaned with an iron activated cleaner, tires done with TRC and tires dressed with a water based dressing. Exhaust tips polished with metal polish #1 to get some gloss back and the door jambs protected with a spray wax. Here are a few pictures of the exterior.

I applied Tire Armor to my Camaro in November.  It's been over two months now.

Yesterday I gave the Camaro a Rinseless Wash.  First time I washed the car since November.  (It was a pretty wet December here in Texas so I didn't have it out much but I put at least a couple of hundred miles on it when the weather was nice.)

After the Risneless Wash I used Waterless Wash on the Wheels and Tires. Just wiped the tires down with Waterless Wash and a Utility Towel.  I think they look FANTASTIC!  You can see how dirty the tires were (I have a 100 yard long dirt driveway) because the treads and wheel wells are still dirty.  Only wiped down the sidewalls.

So - to sum up - Tire Armor works GREAT and last a long time on a garage kept, weekend driven, good weather car.  Light cleanup on the tires becomes super easy.

The jury is still out on the daily driver, filthy F150.

Teaching my nephew some stuff. He bought a Adams Swirl killer. I was impressed with it too. He’s new to polishing and detailing in general. But he became obsessed with it pretty quick. Here is a section he polished.

The paint is beyond trashed. He used another brand pad and polish to cut. Finished with Adams finishing polish on another brands pad as well.

I hope this thread isnt only for professional detailers.  Washed my truck today and my wifes car looked miserable, having not been washed in probably 4-5 months.  Thank God for grit guards, ultra foam soap, and turbo sticks lol.  I hate washing her wheels.  Ended up doing some correction on the roof and hood.  Apparently her wiper blade flew out and scuffed up her roof and windshield.  Most of the damage came out but i need to go back over with heavy correcting compound to fix it completely.  The car needs to be clayed too but I hadnt planned to work on it today and got a late start and ran out of time.  I dont know when ill be able to keep her car for an entire day again so I just applied LPS and Americana.  Cleaned the tires, trim, and plastic with TRC, applied TA, and undercarriage spray.    I missed a couple spots on the wiper cowl, my fingers are too big lol.  I need to invest in a wiper arm puller.  I wish I would have taken some before pics, the car looked terrible lol.

After taking off building anything for 2018, I decided to build a bagged 2019 Ram 1500 for this years SEMA Show. I ordered the truck to get the options I wanted/needed, but told the dealership NOT to touch the truck when it comes off of the transporter. I told them I did not want the dealer installed scratches option. Right before we ship it to Las Vegas at the end of the year, I plan to do a full polish job on it and make it as slick as possible. As you can see, I cant do a rendering and not include the Adams logo, its a must!

As I never properly cared for my car till recently, this was the first proper wash on wheel/tires.

    Products used:
    Heavy duty nitrile gloves
    WC
    ECO APC
    VRT
    Tire Brush
    Red Wheel Mitt
    VRT Applicator block

I couldn’t clean deeper in but I’m pretty satisfied with the results. Doing all 4 tires took me one hour. Picture #1 shows condition before cleaning. Using ECO APC I had to spray, scrub and rinse 3 times on each tire to get white foams, which was expected. The Picture #2 was from 2nd scrub, first was nastier. As you can see, I got the foam on the wheels too, I wasn’t too careful but wasn’t seeing any damage on wheels from using Tire Brush. I got tempted to just start scrubbing the whole wheel with the Tire Brush but I wanted to try the Red Wheel Mitt because I have big hands it fit quite well. Wheel mitt made cleaning the wheels, fast, like the Clay mitt doing decon.
I did use a bucket but I don’t think I needed it, I found it easier to just rinse the Tire Brush or Wheel Mitt off using the hose.
Oddly the sprayer I put on my WC seemed defective. Both spray options on it was “shoot” without “spray” dunno if WC just doesn’t spray so I’ll be trying a different sprayer next time. But since I could only “shoot” I used more product but it probably helped get more crap off 😆
Since I had gloves on under the mitt I just started rubbing my hands all over the wheels after spraying WC then rinsed it clean. Used mitt “fingers” for wheel lugs, worked quite well.
Finally after all wheels and tires got cleaned I applied VRT using the applicator block, one side on all 4 tires. I applied it when tires were WET because I was running out of time, had to get ready for work. Because I was worried about sling I flipped the applicator block over and lightly scrubbed all 4 tires.
VRT sat for about 30 mins outside then I drove to work. No sling whatsoever, tires still look clean like I just applied VRT.
ECO APC works so well on so many things I love it. A gallon of it would be in the cart for next time. But I’ll give TRC a shot later to compare it and see if it’s worth justifying a separate product for tires when ECO APC does the job.

Washed my girls car. Its coated with Adams ceramic coating. Tried topping it with the new H2.0GG and gave the tires two coats of Tire Armor.
