rseward got a reaction from SgtLip in When did Adam's have 16 oz bottles of compound and polish?
Seems like Adam’s might want to consider a team focused on catering to high volume customers, like profrssional detailers and resellers.

Sorry if I went to far off topic.
There could be other reasons they made the decision to cut the size of the product. Maybe they received feedback from customers that didn't want to buy 16oz of product when they couldn't use it all.
Also, I don't know that selling 1/2 the amount of product equates to 1/2 the cost for them to manufacture, warehouse, package, etc... Is it 1/2 the labor to fill an 8oz bottle apposed to a 16oz bottle? I don't know the answer, but I'm guessing it's not.
I get that from a consumer standpoint you're getting less for your money, but it's still a savings for someone who's going to polish their car once and only use 6oz of polish letting the rest sit in their garage so long that they'd have to order a new bottle next time they polish anyway (I'm assuming it can't sit in a hot/cold garage for several years).
The best thing would have probably been to offer both options.

I get it, Adam's products come with a premium price tag, but there's a lot of other brands priced similarly (for consumers). I won't mention them by name here, but you can search Amazon and do your own comparisons.
One thing I'll note (from a amateur/weekend warrior/consumer point of view), is that Adam's provides some additional value to the novice by making there product line simple to navigate. For example, color coding polishes to pads, product specific video tutorials, and providing this forum, allowing customers to share knowledge and product experiences, etc...
Also, many of their products are made in the USA (not sure where others are made), and they seem to almost always offer a sale or promo of some sort...
That said, I do get that a professional wouldn't be able to sustain paying retail (even at sale prices) when they buy and use the product in large quantities. There's only so much one will pay for a car wash, no matter how good it is.

I understand, if there's always a sale, there's really never a sale, I was just trying to make the point that the price you see isn't necessarily the price you'll pay.
Also... I'm new to all this, before I started ordering from Adam's (just a few weeks ago), I'd get my car care products at Walmart or Autozone etc... so I don't know all the different options available; but I do know, when I started looking for products I found their site, and this forum most helpful in finding what I needed to accomplish the my project.

IMO... shipping is a biggie, no one wants to pay for it, and it seems their listed prices are what you could expect to pay at a retail store with, instant availability and no additional fee's (other than sales tax), which is probably why they always offer 15% off.
I think they could better serve their customers by partnering closer with Amazon, allowing them to warehouse and ship the products, offering prime shipping, etc... Customers would get products much faster and it would probably be cheaper for Adam's as I'm sure Amazon get much better shipping rates, and would save a ton on labor.

rseward reacted to Car Geek in Unger Professional Rinse'n'Go Spotless Car Wash System
I was a bit skeptical about this at first but it was on sale at Costco so I figured I would give it a try. I know they always have good quality product and the best price - and now this product has a lot of good reviews. I couldn't find the Unger Rinse 'n' Go anywhere else. I've used a more expensive version at home in the past...but replacing the resin was a pain in the *** and expensive. This one really is much easier to use and gave me the same spot-free results. The product I had before required an engineering degree to assemble, it was ridiculous. This Rinse 'n' Go really was ready to go right out of the box. The resin was already inside. I played around with it anyway - the resin is in a bag so it's really easy to replace rather than dealing with loose resin. I didn't use it to wash the dirt from my car because I didn't want to waste the resin so I washed it like I normally do but then used this for the final rinse. That's what this system is made for - I rinsed the car with this and just let it dry. The results were great - I didn't have any spots, not even on the glass. So, I'll tell you guys, in my opinion, it you want a spotless car without having to spend all that time towel drying it, this is for you. I just wish it had a bypass for regular water if you don't want to use the resin. I just connected it when I was done washing the car as a workaround.

Well I didn’t get before photos, but here’s some after shots. I didn’t do a complete detail (wheels, engine, etc...), just the paint.
Although it looks incredible... it’s not a dramatic difference as it’s only a couple months old and didn’t have any notable swirl marks or scratches.
Here’s what I did:
Wash
Iron Remover
Clay
Correcting Polish
Finishing Polish
Coating Prep
Installed body side molding (seen in photos).
Brilliant Glaze
Paint Sealant
Buttery Wax

I purposely bought my son a manual transmission for his first car, and my younger son will drive the same when he starts driving.
I want them to know how, and I feel like it forces them to be more engaged in driving, therefore less likely to text, etc... and/or become complacent.

Although not fun in any type of traffic, manual transmissions are the best!! I highly recomended learning how to drive one, then find one to buy!
Options are becoming more and more limited ..i believe Audi removed all MT.

Went grocery shopping the other night and it was lightly raining outside. The beads looked so cool on the hood of my little Miata. Very tight and uniform.

The logic of layering discussed in this article is what made most since to me (“most durable product should always be used as the base”), but then I saw a video in which Adam mentions putting down BG then PS... so that’s why I asked the question about how it effects the longevity of the PS.
Anyway, I went with the BG then PS, and topped it off with BW, and I’m thrilled with how great it looks. Plan to use detail spray as drying agent with each maintenance wash, and GG about every 4-6 washes.
Maybe in the spring I’ll reverse it (PS then BG) and see if I notice a difference.

Since my name is Chris, too, I'll jump in to add my two cents!?
BG has filler properties for minor imperfections, and by adding it first will provide that benefit as well as added shine. PS bonds best to bare paint, but as you can see above and elsewhere on here, some prefer to add BG first anyway. Yes, by doing so, the PS essentially locks in that shine. PS is much more durable than the BG. We're talking months and months vs. a week or two, at best.
Recommend you check out this article for a little more:
Basically, while I'm in the PS-first group, it seems to come down fo personal preference. Maybe you could try both ways and see which you prefer ...even side by side.
