  3. Welcome back. I used to have a 2012 Inferno Orange Camaro as well.
  4. Welcome! Just down the road in Selinsgrove, PA.
  5. Post some pictures! I would like to go to one of these auctions someday.
  6. Nice work! Will you have to pull the wheels again to apply the Boost?
  7. Your welcome! Thank you for making such great products!
  8. Welcome. What kind of car do you have?
  9. Just do some research and decide which polisher would work best for you. I learned by watching Adams videos 4 years ago. If you have questions just ask. We are all here to help.
  10. Another great write-up! I am thinking about getting a paint thickness gauge. How often do you use it? Is PosiTector a good gauge?
  11. This past week we had a propane heater installed in our garage. This means I can now detail in the winter! I wanted to try out the heated garage so I decided to do a full detail on our 2012 Challenger. It had been 18 months since the last polished the car. This was due to me putting in a lot a lot of hours at work and buying a house that needed some work. I was happy with the condition of the paint. There was just some light scratches but no swirls. So after a normal wash I clayed the paint and decided to go with just a one-step process with Adams Paint Correcting Polish and a foam pad. My main polisher is the Flex 3401. I then used Adams Liquid Paint Sealant. The following day I topped that with Adams Patriot wax. I also sealed all the glass with Adams Glass Sealant. I used Adams Quick Sealant on all the black trim and wheels (I bought 8 cans when I found out it was being discontinued). I would have taken pictures outside but it decided to snow today!
  12. Looks like a great product! I'm thinking about using it on our Jeep Wrangles wheels.
  13. I have this steamer as well and could not detail without it. I use it to clean all the tight crevices, the seats, carpet, and floor mats in the car. I also use it in the house when cleaning. I have had mine for over 2 years and have had no problems with it. I always use distilled water in it to help prevent mineral deposits.
  14. I looked at their website. The one picture has a guy using a rag on the paint that I doubt I would use on my wheels. This is what I call production detailing. We have one like this where I live. It is fast and cheap but so is the detail. For many a cars only value is to get them from point A to point B. They look at a cheap detail and think that it is great. Others want a quality detail at a fair price. I would decide which segment of the market that you are after and target those consumers. Customer education is key. Most people I talk to have no idea what a quality detail is or the value of it. Show the customer your products/polishers etc. and explain what they do and how they work. Another point to educate on is how the customer should care for and maintain their car after the detail. We can get rid of all the swirls/scratches but if they go home and continue with their old ways those scratches will come back. It may take a while to build up the right customer base but it will come. It may even get to the point where you may not be able to keep up. I also posted this on another thread but consider writing a business plan. It does not need to be in depth. SBA.gov is the website (U.S. Small Business Administration) that has guide on how to write it.
  15. How to Start a Home-Based Car Detailing Business (Home-Based Business Series) Paperback - August 7,2012 by Renny Doyle is a excellent book to read. I would also look out The U.S. Small Business Administrations website. The site will walk you through how to write a business plan. Writing a business plan is a lot of work but afterwards you will have a true sense of what you are doing, the market in which you are working in, and possible competition. Things to consider on the legal side is insurance, taxes, naming your business, and environmental concerns. Do not listen to those that say your age is a problem. This is a great opportunity for you to grow as a person and make some money. Just remember that the publics expectations for having their car detailed is different then family or friends expectations.
  16. I was really impressed with the new Americana. Easy on/off with a great shine. I use it on our Challengers which are garaged. I used the H2O GG back in June on our DD Jeep Wrangler and 4 months later it is still beading like crazy!
  17. Demineralized water is ok to use. A different process is used to remove the minerals then distilling.
