BKazzle reacted to camaro2ssblack in Adam's Prototype 47x26 Inch Blue Microfiber Towel Review
Im confused, it's meant to be a drying towel right? Ive never seen anyone use a towel that big for a wipedown, talk about cumbersome in your hands. You are also using way too much detail spray which probably explains your streaking problem and having to use 4 towels for a single detail spray wipedown. It should take two towels max for a Camaro. Big plush towels are great for a drying towel though.

BKazzle got a reaction from Marylander in Absolute perfection?
Usually not...if you want absolute perfection you would have to get into wet sanding, paint depth gauges and digital/optical microscopes.
Even when using this equipment mixed with polishes/machines/pads you might not get perfect depending on the defects.
However, if the paint is in excellent condition and a garage queen, you can achieve pretty close to %100 perfect.

Of course...you can do anything you want as long as your happy with the results. You can even do swirl and haze with a white pad for a little less cut if it's not that bad.

This you?
I personally like the 16oz bottles better...just my preference, but of I don't work on as many cars as others do ...wish I had the time to keep my car clean more often.

@Gerry- Just curious as to why you would use quick detailer as a drying agent before you're going to clay and wax or clay/polish and wax. Most spray waxes and/or quick detailers help in the drying process (eliminating water spots and adding shine), but probably not a needed step before claying and polishing. This is a maintenance step; not paint preparation step.
Not sure why anyone uses a quick detailer alone for claying. I understand the lubricity factor but at least dilute it. I personally like to clay after the wash, but before I dry. So I use a foam gun as clay lube while I'm going around the car. I've even had good outcomes in the sun using Adam's car soap. Obviously not recommended and claying in shade would be ideal, but not always possible. Once I rinse and dry after claying, I like to spot check my claying with the plastic bag while using diluted clay lube (your preference).
A quick detailer is usually marketed as a wax booster; like Adam's, not a liquid wax.
Layers of paste/liquid wax have been studied to only lay about 15-25 nanometers in thickness (1 nm= 1/1000th of a micron) (for reference a clear coat is usually 50-75 microns), so I cant see how a detail spray that's "wax boosting" could lay enough of a layer to clog up a pad. Its designed to extend your wax by assisting the wax in bonding better; not add an additional thick layer.
Of course I didn't design the product, so not entirely sure of its ability. However, this is how most wax boosting quick detailers work.

BKazzle reacted to JHL88 in First time using Machine Super Sealant
you can MSS on the wheels but if you do that make sure it goes on extremely thin or youll have trouble removing it. you can also put wax on your wheels, it might be easier.
The best option IMO is using Quick Sealant on wheels, between longevity and ease of use.

General rule's of thumb for the 69' Camaro~ Stripes were painted on from factory, and there is no clear from the factory.

BKazzle reacted to Chris@Adams in Adam's New Two Step Polish & MF Pads!
Check out these amazing results on my black test door.
As you can see I took steel wool and wrote Adam's in the paint.
Using the New Adam's Two step Polish & MF pads,& the Flex I was able to remove the scratches and the Ad.
All this correcting & polishing was done in less than 10 min.
These new Polishes excite me!!
IMHO The best in the industry!
I was also able to try out my new Infratech light and it works great!

I don't there is much i can add. I think Brian did a pretty good job explaining it.
Personally i don't tape my gaps, but i do tape over black trim. I just wait until the end of a panel to go over the gap with the pad so it does not leave excess product in said gaps.

That last sentence could not be said any better.
If you are doing interiors, then I would recommend a steam cleaner. $100 and it speeds things up like crazy and makes cleaning easier...use it around the house too...

Personally, I'd switch out the carnuba wax with the easy to apply, long lasting QS.
Clay should NEVER "damage" paint, but it can impart some scratches into it, especially if you're not careful and kneading the clay often enough.
I'd do a base price for each service with a note stating that it may be more due to excessive dirt or pet hair removal.
Always remember, word of mouth is your best marketing tool. ALWAYS under promise and over deliver!
