Ray that is a great idea about cutting them and using them in different areas. Here are a few pics. Thanks everyone for all you input. I was extreamely nervous about using the swirl killer. You have made it a lot easier.

Yep, absolutely! You can reuse all of the machine pads. I have some pads that are 5 years old now. I wash them after every use. I use some Eco All Purpose Cleaner or Microfiber Revitalizer & Brightener to scrub the pads with my thumbs or the Pad Conditioning Brush, then rinse very thoroughly with water and squeeze them until just clear water is rinsing out of them. Then I like to let them air dry or I'll use the Blaster Sidekick to dry them out - this seems to create less dust during the next use too.

I haven't used the swirl killer other than holding it in my hands on display at the Anaheim location.  But the philosophy should still be the same.  Microfiber pads in my experience like to be used on a slower speed with slower arm speed like speed 4 and just the pressure of the machine.  Also microfiber pads like to be primed with product to get all of the fibers coated with product.  Higher speeds and pressure will dry up the product along with the temperature and humidity one is working in.

Shrink your area shoulder width apart on slow speed and see if that helps.  I have found the paints on Grand Prix's to be on the medium side and correct fairly easy even with a foam cutting pad but still need a polishing step as compounding usually leaves micro-marring behind.

Have you done a test spot to see if you actually need to go this aggressive?  You could probably go straight to polishing after your correction step.  You asked about the number of pads needed.  About 6 pads for cutting and 4 for polishing for an average size car like the Grand Prix.

The Camaro on the other hand has hard paint and microfiber and compound is usually needed to remove deep defects.

I would wait at least 24 hours before polishing. My experience with Langka is good.

Make sure you wipe down with surface prep or isopropyl alcohol before applying the ceramic. Not sure if that is included in the ceramic process or not but I want to make sure it's mentioned.

That should be perfect! Our Finishing Polish was updated and renamed to just "Polish" back in November. It's still white in color to match the white foam pad. We released "Compound" at the same time, which replaced both the Heavy Correcting Compound and Correcting Polish in your picture.

The orange Correcting Polish you have finishes down very nicely with the orange pad in most cases. On a brighter color like your red, or silver, white, etc, the white Polish (or older Finishing Polish) may not be needed. It is typically used on darker colors where the orange combo might leave a tiny bit of haze behind, so the white Polish is the step to get things looking as flawless and most gloss as possible. You can certainly use it on your car, but you may not notice too much of a visual difference as you would on a darker color.

Hey Seth! Absolutely! We recommend about 2-3oz of Wash + Coat in the Foam Cannon. Fill the canister mostly with warm water first, then pour in the 3oz of Wash + Coat. Carefully thread the barrel on and then shake it up a bit to mix the shampoo around evenly.

You can see it demonstrated in the video below:

My daughter and grandkids are in Carroll County.  Not much better there.  Makes me feel helpless.
One of these days this will be behind us. Not soon enough for too many.

Do what I did.  ASK your wife to clean the windows inside. Tell her that her hands are smaller and you can't get into the corners. Then when it's done, tell her how GREAT the windows look, and that you could never get them to look that good.  After that, she'll want to do them all the time.   Just don't let your wife know I told you.

I use a microfiber applicator on the windows and when I'm doing the body with BG, then I use one of the Patriot Wax applicators.   Also, it is easier to work with, in my opinion, by putting a spray nozzle in the bottle, just make sure you always shake it before use.  As for the removal, a microfiber towel works great.

Chris, @falcaineer helped with converting the wife.  She watches for the Adam's sales and even does the ordering and she's really good about getting anything that Chris recommends.  Although, I will point out that he's gotten me in trouble a few times when she finds out that I'm not using the "Best" item on her vehicle.

I keep a Microsilk Towel in a baggie, in the map pocket on all my vehicles driver's side doors. If I see a streak on the inside of the glass a quick wipe with this very under rated towel takes care of the issue. No product required, just the dry towel.

I'll probably get fired for this, but I had no luck with glass cleaner inside either.  Once I found out about and tried the Brilliant Glaze on the inside, there was no going back. Easiest streak free glass cleaner I've ever found.

Once the wife realizes that you can clean a windshield and have it streak free, you'll not only make her happy that you are doing windows, but she'll also be less resistant to the other Adam's products you want to order.

I was using the glass cleaner and the blue adams glass cleaning towel. I love the tip falcaineer, I will do that. I will also try the BG. My guess is that I was using too much product and the towel was too wet. Thanks everyone!

Just got new winter tires and decided to clean them and put tire armor on them before winter. I had the rims off so I gave them a quick clean and then applied ceramic boost (they are not ceramic coated).

1st I would like to say I know I applied a lot of Tire Armor. After I did the first tire the spray nozzle broke and I had to use a regular one. this made it harder to use. I also used the wrong applicator but it worked just fine. I don't have any really good sots of the tires/rims before they were put on the car because it was raining the day I got them on. The tire armor is amazing! I applied 1 heavy coat and I love they way it looks. I don't like the high gloss look so this was perfect for me. It has been about a month of rain and snow and they still look amazing.

First pic is cleaning the tires. Side note I do not recommend cleaning tires off the rim. Water builds up inside the tire and is a pain to get out.
2nd pic is a night shot of the finished product. It was still wet so it looks a lot darker.
3rd pic is once they were on the car.
4th is about 2 weeks after install and in the rain. Can't believe how well the ceramic boost worked!
5ht pic was after the first wash. Just a quick hose down, nothing special.

Only thing I will say is that it doesn't bead the water up.

My guess is using too much GC (it doesn't take much) or maybe the towels are too dirty/saturated. To echo @tlbullet, which products are you using?

I, too, really like BG as a glass cleaner. No streaks.

One tip: clean inside glass in one direction (left/right, for example), and the outside in the other (up/down). That way you know where the streaks are.

The tires look good and your going to love the X-ICE tires.   The Red car looks good also, but it does show that this you should consider painting your hubs and calipers.

I would love to see/hear on applying ceramic coating. Specifically on leveling and knowing how to tell if it is uneven.

Shane, seeing your use of a steamer is something that really interests me. I'd love to see how you use it on an engine bay, or when you use it on an exterior. I have been debating getting a small household type steamer and using it on the vehicles. However, seeing as I rarely get detailing customers and our vehicles are somewhat well maintained, I have postponed that.

Ray, that's a good observation. I've noticed it too with my wife's car. I think the use of make up also can add to the discoloration. Shane and Michael have provided good options for trying to attack those. I've had very very good luck with the All Purpose Interior Cleaning Gel - I also like to dilute this one and use it with care. I think it's becoming my favorite cleaner for everything right now. I use it in the house, on shoes, on clothes if I have trouble with a stain, and in the car.
