I have three vehicles I detail on a weekly basis and touch up during the week, I know pathetic.   At the time I did not have a polisher.

So, I am claying my E-350 van like a just ate six powdered donuts, and gripping my clay like it's my last ten dollars and I ram my little finger into Big Sexy's mirror.

It hurt pretty good, but I am on mission to clay Big Sexy and I don't have time to nurse a pinky, so I finish claying with four fingers.

The finger starts to swell but I don't have time for swelling, I have to get her looking good because Big Sexy is making a run to Wal-Mart the next day, and I have standards.

Two weeks go by and my finger is still swollen and I can't move it very well, so I decide to visit my doctor who talks like Selma Hayek and has great eyes.  She walks in and I proudly present my pinky.

I explain the blunt force trauma that happened claying Big Sexy and she looks at me like I'm touched.  I then explained what claying is, and how I rub a clump of clay on my paint, and she just looked at me like I shoved a marshmallow up my nose.

She moves my finger around and I exercise it and she walks out and comes back in and say's I have "Jersey Finger".   I kinda freak out because we have a lot of cows in the area and I was not around any Jersey cows.   She went into a short speech with big words and I responded with "How long does that take to heal?"

Turns out it going to take surgery and about 4,500.00 out of pocket to fix not counting therapy.  I have elected to keep my droop dog finger as it is.   On a positive side, when I drink coffee in the morning my pinking sticks out and I look like I am highfalutin.

I have bought a polisher now. lol

    Jersey Finger Ty out.

We bought a new Jeep and we're researching the best way to care for it. We watched the Adams videos and read lots of posts on this forum. So many of the other brands have a lot of different products that do the same thing and it was hard to choose the best things to use, I don't need a thousand different products it's just too confusing. So after much research and trying out some of the Adams products we are hooked.

If you haven't already tossed the old bar, save it for nasty jobs like wheel barrels or exhaust tips.

You would use QS in place of, or before, wax, especially if your car is a daily driver. Additionally, QS is great for protecting wheels, exhaust, etc. since it can withstand high heat.

    Correct -> Polish -> Seal -> Glaze -> Wax

You don't have to use each step (for instance, glaze or sealant can be omitted) just don't jumble them up.

When you are forced to work outdoors, one panel at a time is the best way to go for claying and polishing. Clay a panel and wipe off the residue with a waffle weave towel, then polish the panel with Revive and wipe off the residue completely with a plush towel, then apply your sealant. This way, the only unprotected paint at any given time will be the paint you are currently working on. You won't get ahead of yourself and nothing will dry on the surface. Another bonus to this method is you can take breaks between completing panels, since the sections of the car will either be completely done, or not even started on yet.

Hot_Wheel reacted to GlossAngeles in Interior swabs? Or much more?
When I saw the interior swabs come out, I thought I would never need something like that. I then got a pack in a mystery box and they sat for months. Recently I was cleaning my wheels and there are very tight areas that none of my brushes can really ever reach.

While trying to decide how to clean this area I lolked and saw the pack of interior swabs. Dunked one in water, sprayed with cleaner and wow did it work wonders. Picked up the dirt easily and even rinsed off clean to use on all the wheels.

I thought, "what else can these be useful for". Turns out, these are amazing at getting polish/wax out of cracks and body panels. Spray with IPA and they form perfectly in any crevice while cleaning with ease. I still never use them for vents and such but I feel they are quite underrated. Because of that, I have dubbed these not interior swabs but Cotton Swab RS!

What do you use your interior swabs for?

Another BIG THANKS to Adam's Premium Car Care!

My first car show of the season and I won my first "1st Place" in "The 22nd Annual Fun in the Sun Car Show" in the "Wash and Show" category. Scored a 99.5 out of 100!

I am not sure how many 11 year old black cars with original paint, that are daily drivers, and do an autocross 6 days before, win 1st Place in a car shows.

I honestly believe my first big win could not have been done without using Adam's Products.

Hot_Wheel reacted to Adam in i wanna learn to wet sand
We sand often, and are getting ready to launch a video, along with a few items to help the process be as safe & effective as possible.  Here's what I do:
Only wet-sand, using Detail Spray to dampen the paper.  Keep it wet, fold a paper into a 2" by 2" section, and go only one direction, with the scratch or damage. For wasted headlamps, or SUPER DESTROYED clear coat, Start with 2,000 grit paper. Follow with 2,500 grit, then our Orange Foam Pad and Adam's Paint Correcting Polish. Serious scratches, SAFEST PLAN:  Start with 2,500 Grit paper, Follow with Orange Foam Pad and our Paint Correcting Polish on the drill. I will have a video soon on this, as it's been requested often....find paper at Eastwood:

    http://www.eastwood.com/wet-dry-sandpaper-5-5-x-9-half-sheet-set.html
PLEASE!!! Learn to use sandpaper on a wasted/ trashed vehicle first!!

    Think....rental car....family minivan, old ratty trailer...etc.

    Thanks, Adam

Great write up Ian. And I agree that deep wheel cleaner should not be a go to product in every case. I think it's overkill on wheels that are routinely cared for. This is where green wheel cleaner or even car shampoo is enough. However I did hear from a very reliable source that green wheel cleaner won't be around forever and was encouraged to pick some extra up while I still was able.

Nice writeup. I have the same drill with DWC... I use it occasionally for really dirty wheels, then I use GWC for normal washings.
