And to that point it would be great if Adams would publish their test along with other companies for comparison but there is a 0% chance of that unless someone thinks they are far and away better

I applied this today. I first cleaned the glass with the new aerosol glass cleaner. I then used the new cleaner as lubricant and clayed the glass. It already felt smooth but was noticeably smoother after claying. Dumped maybe 6-7 drops on half of my windshield because I want a 50/50 comparison on my windshield when it rains. Spread the product in with a microfiber applicator like you would a coating. Up and down then back and forth for good even coverage. Waiting about 2 minutes then used a mist of the spray type glass cleaner of Adam's and wiped off the residue. The I sprayed maybe 5-6 sprays of Boost on the glass wiped it in from the outside edges in. Flipped the towel over and then wiped for one final buffing. The side of the glass that is now sealed is so slick it's crazy lol. Especially compared to the other side that's not been clayed or sealed. It makes the glass look super super clear. If it wasn't for the clouds it would almost look like the glass wasn't there. This stuff goes on and off super easy. Now I'm just waiting to drive in the rain. And big props to the Adam's team for the new style sprayer on the 8oz sprayer. It works awesome.

The first and second picture were taken back to back at the same speed. The first pic is of the drivers side that has Sealant and Boost on it, the second pic is of the passenger side with no boost or Sealant. These were taken at 40mph. The third pic is at 50mph. I forgot that I already had a non Adam's product on my car. It's a drying aid I use that is very hydrophobic. So my results weren't as drastic as a true treated and untreated surface. The Sealant and Boost and still more hydrophobic than the drying aid I use. But not by much. Plus I'd say the Sealant didn't seal properly to the glass because of the other product that is already on there. I'll have to do more testing and then reply back to the thread.

Worked on the whole truck today using the orange polish and orange foam pads.  I got the truck to about where I want it to be.  I am waiting on my mini to work some on the b-pillars that are soft and plan on taking the truck and having some type of clear bra put on there as they tend to scratch so easy.  After the polish, I had just enough time to put on some Adam's Paint Sealant before having to pick up my kids from school.  I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to helping other friends and family members get their cars as near to perfection as possible.  I thought I would post some general pictures that I took of the truck after finishing today.

WRX15 reacted to BRZN in Swirl Killer vs. Rupes 15 LT
I do some testing for Adam, as well as work the Carlisle, PA events for him. I have all of his machines; some I've bought myself, some I've been given to test. I use them to detail my own vehicles and others, at home and at shows.
I have both the Rupes 15 Mark II and the Swirl Killer. The Rupes is great, read what Dan states about it above, I'd say the exact same things about it. But, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Swirl Killer. If you do a search here you'll find folks that were destroying pads with the Mark II when it first came out. It appeared they were running the machine at full speed; 5-6 is too much, except for very short periods of time. The Swirl Killer isn't quite as powerful and can be run on high without damaging the pads through the entire polishing process.

At Carlisle Events it's pretty darn hard to try and make a machine sale to someone just starting out with a $400 price point start, then add in pads and polishes and they've left. The starting price point for the Swirl Killer seems much easier for someone to swallow. It's easier for us to put kits together to give decent discounts.

Originally I though the Swirl Killer would be for the weekend warrior who does just a few vehicles per year, while the Rupes would be for the serious detailer who uses the machine day in and day out, and knew the value of the top of the industry work horse.

Adam sent me several of the prototype machines during the beginning stages of testing. I was to get them out into the hands of those that would be using them daily to really put them through their paces. One of the machines is currently at a Toyota dealership in their vehicle prep area. It's been there since April of 2016. The dealership uses Porter Cable 7424XP's. They will get roughly one year of service out of the machines. I had dinner with the individual I'd gotten the Swirl Killer to last Saturday. We talked about the machines. He said the Swirl Killer is the machine of preference to all those in the shop, and it is on 8 hours a day 5 to 6 days per week. Right now the Porter Cables the dealership purchased last year have begun to fail, the Swirl Killer is showing no signs of slowing down.

So today was the day to start installing a full ceramic kit on a 2017 Ford Raptor. So far everything looks fantastic. Tomorrow I'll finish up with some ceramic boost.

Anyway, on with it. Started with a strip wash and clay bar to remove contamination. Surprisingly the finish on the truck isn't too bad from the factory. The truck is only a couple of weeks old, so the paint was in great shape to begin with. After it was cleaned and clayed, there were no real blemishes to speak of that required polishing. That alone presented a huge time savings.

The owner has new wheels that he's going to mount up, so since they were off it was easy to coat them. I took care of the tires with tire and rubber cleaner and then dried with a MBR. Once sufficiently clean, I hit them with ceramic prep prior to coating. The coating process was simple, but on the matte black wheels it was a bit harder to really see the rainbow effect. This could have been a lighting issue as well. The wheels immediately had a nice clean, deep look to them. Score doe the wheel kit. Takeaways on the wheel ceramic is a little goes a long way. And with the cooler temperature of the garage, it allowed time to cover a decent bit of wheel before buffing off. All in all, pretty simple.

After the wheels were done, it was on to trim coating. Again, a simple enough process. Clean all the trim with tire and rubber cleaner. Follow up with coating prep and apply coating. Again, a little goes a long way. The product was straight forward and easy to level. A quick look with an LED light and seeing any spots that weren't level or that didn't get covered was a breeze.

After trim, it was on to paint. Coating prep and wipe off to ensure a clean surface. Applying the coating in two directions and the rainbow effect on the light paint was easily seen. Again, the cooler temps allowed a good work area. I also had the benefit of working with some else. One applied. The other took off. This was where I was most surprised by how far a little bit of product went. Despite being a large vehicle, there's plenty of coating left for another vehicle. There's plenty of coating left and plenty of prep. There will also be a good bit of boost after completion tomorrow. When I left the vehicle was curing and it definitely had a slightly rough feel to it. This will level off tomorrow with the boost and really bring out the shine!

The takeaways. A little goes further than you think. Toss your applicators and towels used to buff off the coating when you're done so you don't mix them up. Keep the cap on the coating. Two people is was easier than one!

So far I like the product. Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow when it's complete. And then again in the sun.

Here are some garage photos for now.

Every Mercedes I've worked on does have very hard clear coat that usually requires a microfiber pad for me to get best results.

Adam, myself and others have regularly mixed Correcting Polish and Finishing Polish on an Orange Foam Pad at shows to quickly one-step a car, so it's good to hear that mixing Heavy Correcting Compound and Correcting Polish worked well for you too!

I don't believe we will be releasing any sort of medium-grade compound. I received enough negative responses when Heavy Correcting Compound was released that we were going back to a 3 step polishing system, but some people don't realize that it's an optional first step that may not be necessary for every vehicle...which is why I tried to make that very clear on the product label and website description

And just to clarify, our Correcting Polish is Orange, and the corresponding foam pads are Orange as well. I noticed that you mentioned Yellow pads above. We don't carry any yellow pads, so those would be from a different brand than ours.

Well dried off the car today very easy to dry no streaking and the shine is outstanding the surface is hydrophobic so there wasn't that much water on the car I was very impressed again I'm not a chemist just a guy that likes to detail so the way I do things somewhat not protocol here is my car just wiping it off the real test is this coming week it's going to snow rain and freezing rain so let's see how it holds up

WRX15 reacted to Dan@Adams in Now Shipping New and Improved 16OZ Spray Nozzles!
This isn't a huge new product announcement, but it's an important one that I wanted to make everyone aware of. If you haven't received an order recently, we're now shipping all 16oz spray products with an all-new spray nozzle:

The new 16oz sprayers have several improvements over the old sprayer design.

The old sprayers that we had worked well. Simple use - squeeze trigger and they sprayed, but as with everything, we always look to offer better products through testing and research!  We have been testing these new sprayers very rigorously for over 6 months now. I do believe the cost is a little bit more than the old sprayer design per unit, but it's worth it to us to give customers a better experience when using products. This new spray nozzle sprays in a much finer, more consistent mist. The spray pattern is much better at a half-trigger pull (like how most people seem to spray products when I watch them) compared to the old sprayers, but they still work excellent at a full-pull of the trigger as well. The new sprayers also atomize our thicker liquids like H2O Guard & Gloss, Tire Shine, and Wheel Cleaner better as well, again giving a more consistent spray pattern.

While the nozzle adjuster itself has the same indication symbol for stream or mist, they do still have both spray settings and two off (STOP) positions.

With our old sprayers, the spray trigger could eventually fail or snap off from too many uses; however with these new sprayers, even after hundreds and hundreds of sprays of purposely trying to break the triggers in testing, they kept going strong!

The new trigger also requires less effort to pull than the older sprayer, which can make a difference in fingers cramping up when spraying a lot in succession, like with Waterless Wash, Wheel Cleaner, etc.

These sprayers have a more natural fit to your hand, with finger grips molded into the spray trigger.

The sprayers may arrive in your shipment in two pieces. Simply take the flat portion of the stem and insert it into the bottom of the sprayer head until it snaps in place. The curved end in the above picture should go down into the bottle.

The stem of the sprayer is also slightly longer than the 16oz bottle to ensure that you get as much as possible out of the bottle before having to refill.

Lastly, we've done tests of hanging bottles upside-down at various angles and temperatures for a few days to see if they would leak, and the only leaks were the small drop or two at the end of the spray nozzle adjuster itself.

Grab a 3-pack here if you don't want to wait to try them out until your next order arrives:

Winter is fast approaching. I am going under the knife next Wed. with an expected four-week recovery. Today was unbelievably nice. This is a perfect storm for me to FINALLY get the daily prepped for winter!

    Here's how it went down:

Double dose of Strip wash w/Adam's Foam Cannon followed by hand wash and rinse. Clayed w/Visco + Gemming Tool using Detail Spray as lubricant. Coat of VRT on all rubber and plastic surfaces not getting compounded. 2-stage compound + polish using PCP and PFP, combination of Gen5 and Gen6 pads on a Rupes 15 MkII. My clear is soft enough I did not need the MF pad. Machine-applied LPS to all painted surfaces. Coat of Americana on side, top, rear-views, and rear glass. Glass sealant on outer side of windshield. Light coat of VRT to remove stray compounding residue off rubber and plastic. Going to add a coat of Americana + Brilliant Glaze tomorrow.   I got the paint to about 95% good here. Happy with that, for sure.   Here are some crappy phone snaps for your enjoyment.
I hadn't done the glass at this point.
That's not dust...that's how much metal flake is in my paint! Luckily, the love marks the neighborhood cat put on the hood came out no problem.
Even the roof came out nice.
There's ice-cold beer in that there fridge, just waiting for me to be finished.
