  1. Welcome nd post some pics up of your rides
  2. I am in search of a fix for the ridiculously hard water my well has. I have looked at the cr spotless system but can't really afford to drop 400 on it, I might be homeless as well. Is there any options that are not so pricey that might possibly work. I really want the foam cannon but it's not worth it with the water here leaving so much on the car if any sun hits it before drying. Im all ears and thanks in advance
  3. I don't have a foam gun and really want it but my water is so hard I can sell certified calcium straight out the hose pipe lol. I can't afford a system to soften the water either so I have kept myself from hitting buy so far. Im sure something will come around I can try in time though. Glad to see that you a customer cares enough to try and revitalize some energy here, to me it shows how well the brand is respected
  4. Dan this is a great response and opinion sir. I love what Tyger does and understand what you say, I always request him when I call due to his expertise and the fact he will spend a hr making sure you the customer are happy without asking or pressuring you to purchase now. This is why I value this brand so much the level of personal interaction is untouched in my opionion in the business. I really enjoy the forums and all the hard work everyone puts into them. I wish the forum had its own little giveaways sometimes but understand as a business they have tons of different marketing avenues and tht could get expensive quick. The Dan duo as i call it has made me a much more informed detailer and y'all's combination is one of the reasons I have chosen Adams from the start. I will be happy to keep throwing input in from a customer look and noob to the correct detailing world and as a team I think we can all make a difference.
  5. I asked this same question a while back. After doing some more digging on the coatings I do not care that I can not top with my beloved patriot.... I hope to see it come back soon as well. The reflex is the only thing that can have wax on it from what I have found but last time I went away from adams I was not impressed with my descions lol. I know Larry is top notch and is a true professional but I have been pleased with the paint sealant brilliant glaze and patriot route. It has been approx. 3 months since I did the wifes and it still sheds water like crazy and the weather has been horrid in middle Tn and I have been rather lazy on the maintence washing unfortunately
  6. Dan i was having heart palpitations on into the early morning hours.... Am I addicted to this dysfunctional family or did I drink to much detail spray.
  7. I have noticed things have been a different as of late myself mainly because I have not been blessed with the answers Dan typically gives us. I hope the good lord helps his father recover in a speedy manner. I think we all are spoiled at the level of service we get here from Dan and others. Sometimes we need to remember adams has a business to run not a forum to make sure every moment is maintained. I agree i like knowing about sales and such before the masses but either way we can still get what we want eventually. As far as the dvk making a difference, he was a large asset and that does not come by everyday in a new hire so we will have to be patient until others can step into some of his roles. I'd love to see Dan in the ask the doc style videos but I know this isn't possible due to his location and he already has more than enough of a workload. I am hoping they bring back the video series in some capacity however.
  8. I would change the cabin filter as well great recommendation there. And I agree pulling the carpet up to expose the pad underneath is needed my old car did this and it was dry on top but soaked underneath. I ended up buying carpet pad at lowes and just swapped it out and bingo no more odors
  9. I'd shake it up often and get it in a climate controlled environment. You should be fine but test spots are the only way to tell. Lots of detail shops in the area are not climate controlled and products hold out that being said paste wax goes in a college fridge lol
  10. Yea about time one showed up it looks well built like everything adams sells. I hope this comes out when I have the the funds lol
  11. Some good advice so far as always here. I personally don't have large funds and my towel game is what I consider weak in the drying dept. I will dry with detail spray and the water will run off the car that's it helping you out, once the towel is no longer effective at removing the water i will wring it out and get back after it. Microfiber towles pick water up better damp than fully dry to me personally. If there is a small amount of water marks behind get a doible soft and finish with a detail soray wipe down that should do the trick. Once you get sealant or wax on the truck the pooling rinse will really improve. Sealant also helps keep the paint cleaner in my opinon the rain will knock of surface dust etc
  12. Im sure they will get your gallon fixed they have the best customer service in the game
  13. If you are unsure of things adams has amazing videos to explain each step and also if you contact adams customer service they are more than happy to help you with any and all questions. Dan is a great wealth of information just ask for him if you like but all the guys and gals have a great understanding of the process. Do not buy cheap towels for paint related work for dirty interiors they work ok but that's it. I wouldn't use a Costco rag on my door jambs even but I also spent countless hours getting my paint to look like molten glass
  14. I rinse my pads out with water until I see no dirt every few washes or after a terrible dirty ride i either pitch it or wash it in the machine for a last ditch effort. As far as pads and polishing every vehicle acts differently as every paint job is different. If you use the microfiber pad and are happy with the level of correction then all you need is the white and finish polish to add clarity and the high gloss appearance. Microfiber pads can leave some da haze behind sometimes but not always. Try using the least aggressive method first do a test section and go up in level of aggression each time until you find the combination that wins your soul over.
  15. This forum has me wanting to go out and buy a ss lol. They are awesome dual purpose rides looks like your going out for the groceries and then you look inside to see a clutch lol. My buddy test drove one and said its a well built machine. Maybe in a few years I'll pick one up instead of my plans for another lexus. And tell all the new ss owners to start posting pics
  16. If your trying to move faster while washing I would say go Rinsless. Get at least 12 of the gray border less towels to go with. You can pressure wash the main dirt off then use the diluted rinseless and a good pre soak. Rinseless is a super easy way to add some shine to the ride. I personally use h20 g&g while doing rinseless 1 time a month to maintain my paint sealant. Grab some wash pads and soap because sometimes you have to go traditional. I have adams buckets myself but you could save a few bucks and make your own from various outlets. It takes a fair amount to get started correctly so not sure what your budget is but I'll list products I think are staples. Adams soap, wash pad, bucket and grit guard x2, the great white drying towel, 12 grey border less towles or any of adams high quality microfibers, rinseless wash concentrate, interior cleaner, leather conditioner even if u don't have leather trust me do yourself a favor it smells amazing after the car bakes in the sun, a few good quality gray interior microfibers I can't recall the name but its in the interior kits, glass cleaner. Get some americana wax for a wonderful experience if wax is your thing, if not try the paint sealant which will last longer than wax but to me does not have the depth that wax offers.mi personally use sealant and wax for this reason. Have fun reading the forums there is a endless amount of info here and some great individuals to help you watch the adams videos on you tube !
  17. Dan used his time to go spend his hard earned money it sounds like. I guess he can add a new project to his list and give us a nice step by step forum display of steps to detailing the new ride lol. I guess he could possibly be a touch busy these days however. Show us some pics Dan nobody likes a tease
  18. I have seen it done and it works fine still. With the cannon my friend did the presoak and rinse and then resoaked with the cannon and went to town it was super slick. I think rinseless is more economical personally so I am sticking there as much as I can
  19. I'd say rinseless as well. You can prolly get away with waterless on the roof and such where almost no grime hit
  20. They grey towels are awesome I think they are easier to use during a rinseless wash bs a double soft. The double just gets so heavy to me personally when compared to the grey.
  21. From your picture the bottle appears to have the old version in it, the new solution is a deeper blue like a diluted Rinsless is. I could be wrong but I am going with you got a older bottle but they are great so no worries. I have the best looking door seals now thanks to waterless
  22. I can not make a certain point on the water softner part however my water is uber hard here and I use tap water for my 2 gal of bucket solution. I still use distilled for the pre soak as I have it for all diluted chemicals. I can use this outside in blazing hot sun and no water spots. I pre soak a panel then wipe it down followed with h2o and a final dry with a hit of detail spray. You can clean what I consider dirty cars rather safely in this manner. I have all but abandoned my soap and hose method at this point, rinseless smells so good as well enjoy that as work. My towels are not adams brand but are a white 800 gsm and have a very slight blue tint to them now but are clean and very soft.
  23. I am curious if some magical detail chef is possibly making patriot even more impressive. There has been quite an overhaul lately of formulas. I don't see how it gets better short of lasting longer but we can all dream of being even more blown away. I would like to here a approx time for the restock as I have blown through half a tin in a couple months, everyone has converted to it here when I offer the upgrade.
  24. Being a dark color and not sun it might of dried on there. Use some revive or clay bar. Rinseless might get it as well. I love h2o super easy to use and have never heard anything negative about it here
  25. Just cleaning the house. Then it's time to use the car polisher to knock the wood to a perfect surface for stain. I'm never going to finish lol. My marriage depends on getting her stained after 3 years of laziness
